Does California Governor Gavin Newsom want his state to remain a part of our federal union? Newsom does not like our president. The fact that Donald Trump is a member of the opposing party is immaterial to the governor's critique of the United States federal government. Newsom doesn't like to be told how to run his far-left-wing, kooky, dystopian nightmare of a state. In fact, Newsom rejects any effort Washington makes to exert control over federal policy in California. It's not just immigration enforcement. Newsom has been resisting federal rules on auto emissions, Clean Air Act waivers, and the removal of EV mandates.

There’s a lot of hate and vitriol flying around the internet these days, which has only increased since the tragic, senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk. Leftist media pundits have openly pondered whether Kirk deserved his awful fate, while vicious Democrat politicians like Reps. Ilhan Omar (MN) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) are vilifying the man even before his memorial has taken place.
It’s been an ugly thing to watch.
Here’s a different take, however, delivered by legendary singer, actor, and showman Pat Boone, a man who has spent many years in the spotlight (he’s now 91 years young).
She finally answered a question, and it was a nightmare. We can see why Democratic Virginia gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger’s people have been trying to keep her away from the media. If this were a dangling of one’s foot into that pool, they’re likely going to whisk her away, because this was a hefty helping of word salad over a simple question: Do you support men in women’s bathrooms? The question was pitched to her by WJLA’s Nick Minock.

I’m not a fan of Jimmy Kimmel; I prefer comedy to fat, angry political lectures. I’m old-fashioned that way. But I don’t think there is a story where more elements of it have been wrong or lied about – depending on whether the person doing it is a moron or evil – than the one about “Kimmel Being Canceled By Trump!” It’s disgusting, it’s stupid and it is a fraud, which is why Democrats have embraced it, as the truth does them no good.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has confirmed that the Trump administration is sending two full planes of White House staff to Arizona for the memorial service of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. A witness heard the mass shooter at a New Hampshire country club scream, “Free Palestine!”
The shooter murdered 59-year-old Robert Steven DeCesare Saturday evening at Sky Meadow Country Club and injured at least two others. Several additional people were reportedly injured in the incident from non-bullet causes.
Local ABC affiliate WMUR reported that the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said police had arrested suspect 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau. DeCesare was eating dinner with his wife and daughter at the time the shooter began firing. His mother, Evie O’Rourke, said DeCesare bravely jumped up to protect his family and was killed while doing so.

The Charlie Kirk assassination upended a lot of the common tenets of politics, not to mention the unsaid rules of a civil society. Not too long ago, it was universally considered taboo to celebrate the death of anyone, yet thanks to social media and the Left, we’ve all seen people we know, people who teach our children and treat our health, dance and sing and celebrate a murder.

A 19-year-old man was arrested Sunday for vandalizing a Charlie Kirk memorial set up outside Turning Point USA’s headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, according to Fox News.

One question was about free speech on campus.

Nearly 50% of Trump voters would oppose a transgender rights activist speaking on campus. 86% of Harris voters would support it.

Attorneys for Luigi Mangione asked a federal judge Saturday to dismiss charges against him, arguing that state and federal officials violated his constitutional rights and damaged his chances for a fair trial.
Mangione is accused of killing Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, in December 2024. The high-profile assassination drew national attention in the days after Thompson’s death. Earlier this week, a New York state judge dropped two terrorism-related charges against Mangione.[snip] His defense team is also asking the court to remove the death penalty as an option.
Nicholas J. Roske, the 29-year-old who pleaded guilty in April to the attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, will be sentenced on October 3. According to a Friday court filing, Roske faces up to 30 years in prison. The Department of Justice said in the sentencing memo that they deem Roske's action as an act of terrorism.
As RedState reported, in June 2022, Roske traveled from California to Washington, D.C., for the sole purpose of assassinating Kavanaugh. Roske wandered the D.C. suburb near Kavanaugh's home armed with a pistol and ammunition, a crowbar, a "tactical knife," zip ties, and other implements in a duffel bag.

Barack Obama is such a soulless fraud. He’s spent the last week trying to downplay the significance of Charlie Kirk’s assassination. First, he pretended that the motive behind Charlie’s murder was impossible to ascertain. Then he blamed President Trump for welcoming “extremism” into the White House. Finally, he insinuated that Charlie was a racist and at least partially responsible for his own death. As always, America’s foremost “divider in chief” excels at rubbing salt in gaping wounds.

California Governor Gavin Newsom sparked an uproar on Saturday after his team posted a cryptic message to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.
As TGP readers know, Newsom has made himself the leader of the resistance against the Trump Administration, particularly on the issue of illegal immigration. This feud has been heightened ever since Trump sent ICE agents to LA to round up illegals earlier this year.
Perhaps with this in mind, Newsom’s press team posted a tweet that many read as a threat on Noem’s life. It was certainly vague enough to be interpreted that way.
The post reads, “Kristi Noem is going to have a bad day today.
A California man was arrested and charged on Saturday for shooting into the studio of an ABC affiliate on Friday evening.[snip] gunshots were fired at an ABC affiliate station in Sacramento, California, on Friday afternoon after Jimmy Kimmel’s show was suspended.According to police, a vehicle pulled up to the station and a suspect fired three gunshots into the window.There was one person in the lobby at the time of the shooting, but no one was struck.Police arrested 64-year-old Anibal Hernandezsantana and charged him with three felonies. Hernandezsantana, a rabid Trump hater, is being held on $200,000 bail.
