Jimmy Kimmel is getting back on the air. The ABC late-night host is returning to broadcast on Tuesday following a brief-but-monumental suspension that sparked a national debate over the Trump Administration’s pressure tactics and the modern limits and consequences of free speech. “Last Wednesday, we made the decision to suspend production on the show to avoid further inflaming a tense situation at an emotional moment for our country,” ABC parent The Walt Disney Company said in a statement Monday.

Kimmel's TV show has zero to do with free speech.
If it does, then every citizen who NEVER HAD a TV show has had their free speech rights violated since birth.

Did Kimmel meet Sinclair's demands for an apology and a donation? Or did Disney just cave out of leftist solidarity?

I have yet to figure out who exactly still watches network and cable TV in any time slot. It is all trash and way overpriced with cable.
My mom who is 85 cut the cord a few years back and has suffered no ill effects. Plenty of streaming services for old movies and older quality TV programs, some are even free assuming you don't mind commercials. She gets her Brit mystery fix streamed in too.

Never had to give up watching Kimmel because I have never watched him. It's time for conservatives to pull back from the loony toony Hollywood types on all levels. What they offer is not worth your time or money.

Wait a minute. I thought that the First Amendment-destroying fascist Trump fired him.

From the outset, I was suspicious of the word 'suspension'. I doubt any MAGA supporters ever watch, and this VERY temporary move was simply ABC's trying to avoid the heat. Even so, Kimmel isn't funny - if he ever was at all - and surely ABC is a business which at least TRIES to earn a profit? I am not certain this show ever has.

He should open with an unconditional and complete apology to Charlie Kirk's family.

He'll probably make fun of Erika Kirk and her two children (ages 1 and 3) since Charlie is no longer around. Despicable person.

Let’s hope the ratings plummet lower than they were before,
if that’s even possible.

Disney managed to put themselves in a no win situation. They have hacked off the right with their woke insanity. Suspending that jackass hacked off their remaining customers. So, they made a business decision catering to the left, further alienating the right.
But, I have to ask, is Freedom of speech safe now????

As if I needed another reason to continue my decades-long person boycott of anything Disney. Kimmel is not a freedom-of-speech issue. I have always been employed at my employer's will. If Kimmel's performance is not up to Disney's goals, needs and requirements, Disney can let him go, their right, their decision.

Unfortunately this will probably be a ratings bonanza for his show. Then it will go back into the gutter to show the true level of his popularity or lack thereof.

#13, THAT is the million dollar question. Because Kimmel was all-too-briefly 'suspended when one of the largest group of ABC affiliates refuse to broadcast the show???

My guess is that the downstream stations will find out (beforehand or afterwards) whether Kimmel is going to make any kind of a statement that can even remotely be considered an apology. If so, they'll likely re-commence their streaming; if not, they'll likely beg off from streaming for another week or two. Having made his poorly-considered threats that brought him widespread criticism, Brendan Carr is now largely hamstrung from using the Kimmel's stupid comment to punish downstream broadcasters.

Boycott Kimmel's major advertisers: Allstate, McDonald's, Starbucks, Kit Kat, Venmo, JC Penney, Smirnoff, Instacart, AT&T, Apple, Impossible Foods, Venmo, Credit Karma, DiGiorno Pizza. And any other moronic corporations who jump on board this week.

There will be one or two nights at the beginning where several hundred people watch his show. After than few of them will bother, but they'll all continue to praise him as a brave, hilarious champion of free speech.

Disney's decision to suspend Kimmel was the smartest advertising trick ever.
Thousands will be watching the first show to see how Kimmel responds.
