The new liberal website, The Argument, conducted an interesting poll of Trump 2024 supporters, Harris 2024 supporters, and those who didn't vote.
One question was about free speech on campus.
"For each of the following, do you believe they should be allowed to give a speech at a college campus?"
Nearly 50% of Trump voters would oppose a transgender rights activist speaking on campus. 86% of Harris voters would support it.
Nearly 55% of Harris voters would oppose Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu giving a talk. 63% of Trump voters would support it.
Over 67% of Trump voters would oppose a Palestinian activist who calls for the abolition of Israel. 53% of Harris voters

I would not cut off a family member. We have four children, their spouses and fifteen grandchildren. We differ politically with any. We also differ on religiousness. We get along great because we are, and they are a loving family. We do not argue about religion nor politics. We promote family. We love and respect each person’s right of choice.

Family and blood ties are at a completely different level than friends, associates or political views. It is not a question of higher or lower. It is different, like skew lines. Having said that, there is a non-negotiable difference between life and death, tolerance and murder. It is not a matter of subjective opinion.

Of course, not. The same goes for a few very close friends, too, although that doesn't always work both ways.

Lakshya Jain. Self-proclaimed liberal. Techie. Dumps stuff into his computer and tries to dump garbage on us as propaganda to affect our thinking. No thanks, Lakshya
If this is the same guy Lakahya is 21 years old.

No. Our family is fairly united. We don't talk politics a lot.

The "tolerant" left is far more likely to cut off a relationship. As an example, I don't care if my cousin is a vegan, but she won't talk to me because I enjoy a steak.

We must remember that Trump only received some 2 million more votes than Harris. America will remain markedly divided for generations and this will only be reversed when we wrest back control of our children's education.

Not at all. I have a nephew who has TDS and is an atheist. I am supportive of Trump and am a Catholic. One day he will come to his senses but in the meantime, he is a member of our family and nothing can change that. The only thing I have done is mute my ultra TDS cousin on Facebook. He's gone from criticism to downright hatefulness. But I would not disown him.

We should also remember that Harris only won states that didn't require voter ID.

Brother hung up on me last night when I corrected him by saying the Kirk shooter was not MAGA, so I guess it's possible.

I'm friends with people who either agree to disagree, and/or avoid politics. The ones who can't leave politics alone are now absent from my life. A strident leftist who wouldn't shut up about politics succeeded in breaking up my Bible study group earlier this year. I doubt that was her intent, but her incessant complaints about everything Trump got to the group as a whole, and the leader "temporarily" suspended the meetings until 2026.

I have Three Married Children and 10 Grandchildren. ALL of them are Democrats! So, When we go Back Home, we do NOT talk about Politics! We all get along and know that it's not worth preaching to each other and then loose our Family. They should know better than to believe what the Democrats throw out there, but they do believe it and then post it on Facebook or Instagram. I don't post anything on their comments! I'm just sad that they fell for the Devil Himself!

Seriously, how well does one know a person? You may have a friendship going back decades and you see that person in different circumstances and they are practically a stranger. Especially if money is involved.
Never married, no children. I have only a few people I consider family. A brother, the Lady Chihuahua, and her daughter. Their politics are all different than mine. I can have political discussion with the lady Chihuahua and her daughter. No problems. We know we see things differently and respect that. My brother and I hardly ever see each other and only talk a few times a year. We have always been distant. Not sure if politics has made things worse.

Up until this year I wouldn't have cut off contact with a family member but after seeing just how insane leftists have become, if my youngest brother and his wife came knocking on my door I would not let them in. My S-i-L is bat-(Insert bad word here) crazy and I really think she would attack us. Watching the riots on TV in the Seattle area, I'm surprised I haven't (yet) seen her participating.

Ironically, the ones who believe in God (ergo, an objective moral standard) seem to be the ones willing to let others have different opinions without killing them for it. Maybe it has something to do with understanding that our personal view is not the ultimate standard.

I'm a practicing Catholic, Republican, and third generation Pole who married a half hispanic woman who is a Dem and an atheist. So I'm bigoted, intolerant, and of course, fascist because I like Trump. The In Laws have banned me from their house. Not that we've gone there much after Covid the sister in law being such a new virus phobe. Meanwhile, I never banned them when they voted for Clinton, Obama, and Biden... and Hillary and Cackles. I don't want to talk politics but my wife sometimes goes full Harpie on me.
I think I'll pack a go bag. Next time she pulls what she did two days ago, I'm out the door for a couple days.
It's that bad.

Lots of libs in my family, and we have learned not to talk politics and religion at family get togethers.
While I would never cut off a family member, I am not beyond skipping a family event to preserve my peace of mind.
