The Texas State University student who was expelled when he was caught mocking Charlie Kirk’s assassination in front of a horrified crowd claimed he “made a mistake in the heat of the moment.” Devion Canty Jr. pleaded for help with his education costs on GoFundMe Thursday, just days after he vilely spewed profanity at a group of mourners outside the school’s Turning Point USA chapter. “Recently, I faced a situation where I had to choose between immediate expulsion or withdrawing from the university,” Canty Jr said on the crowdfunding page.

I don't believe he will receive a lot of help on his go fund me, but Who knows these liberals and Trump haters are crazy. He goes to a place where people are mourning the death of their friend and he vilely spews profanity-----------where is the heat of the moment? If he cannot control himself any better then that he needs emotional guidance from a professional. No he went there with the intention of disturbing the group. I guess his Momma never told him if you cannot say something good about a person shut your stupid mouth.

He was the victim. He was spit on, called racial slurs and just snapped. Poor him. As if. Tell it to Jussie Smollett. And as if he’d spend the money on college. Charlie Kirk is dead and no one of value feels sorry for Devion. His buddies won’t spend a dime to help him and if they were in his position neither would he.

He's claiming he was upset after enduring abuse, yet, oddly, there's no video showing any of the things he claimed happened. Odd, that. He's a liar who's realized his future is cooked. Rather than take responsibility for it, he's trying to be a victim. It won't work, outside of liberal circles of course. He probably could get a job as a fact checker at CNN.

FTA: "..... he vilely spewed profanity at a group of mourners outside the school’s Turning Point USA chapter." Did he just "happen" to stroll by the group, or did he intentionally go there as a counter protester? I suspect the latter, which makes his behavior worse than he's pretending.

When your Go To (spur of the moment) is to mock someone that has been assassinated, your behavior is thuggish. You are a low quality person. If someone cut in front of you in a line, what would you do? If you got denied a loan because you defaulted on a previous loan would you scream at the bank officials? Your behavior is not civilized and you don't deserve the privilege of an education.

Political change mimics a supertanker in its inertia. Turning direction proceeds imperceptibly at first. Then advances sporadically, punctuated by specific accelerating events. Progress in the new direction proceeds over decades, interspersed by backsliding episodes.  Glenn Reynolds examines the operative political dynamic. The Left’s “strategy has consisted of using bullying and propaganda to convince 80% of the population that the views of 20% of the population are in the majority.” Mass gaslighting is ancient.[snip] America’s current gaslighting episode originated against McCarthyism, accelerating ever since.

1996 was the “Year of Welfare Reform,” including for migrants. The historic Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act was designed to “strengthen the principle that immigrants come to America to work, not to collect welfare benefits.” PRWORA cut off illegal aliens from most federal public benefits. It instituted a five-year ineligibility period for lawful permanent residents (LPRs) for most federal welfare programs, “to send a clear signal that immigrants are expected to … not become dependent on public welfare benefits.” The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act, enacted later in 1996, required that U.S. citizens and LPRs sponsoring relatives for green cards sign legally binding affidavits of support,
