“Freedom of speech cannot and will not be silenced.” With these words – spoken in his English that went viral on social media – Lorenzo Caccialupi, 23 years old, a Roman student of Economics and Finance at John Cabot University, recently returned from a semester exchange at San Diego State University, commented to Adnkronos on the killing of Charlie Kirk. “Freedom of expression cannot be silenced,” he explained, adding that he wanted to express solidarity with the activist's family with a video shared online: “I can't stand that there are people celebrating his death. It's really a despicable thing.” Caccialupi had met the activist last May

Nope. I got what was apparently an "accept all cookies" and pay 5 Euros for a membership....but my Italian is pretty rusty. I don't do that when I can read what they are selling, sure not when I can't.

In an astounding coincidence, as the news arrived that Charlie Kirk, founder and head of the enlightened traditionalist movement Turning Point USA, had been assassinated, I was sitting in the Oval Office of the White House across the Resolute Desk from the President of the United States. Although I have known Donald Trump for more than 25 years and have generally been in touch with him throughout that period, I had not seen him in person for some years. I have written approximately two million words about him, almost all of it reasonably or unambiguously favourable, though not uncritically so, mainly on U.S. internet sites,

One of the problems of being competent is that people take your achievements for granted. Pretty soon they forget all about them and concoct new complaints or demands. This is the case with President Trump’s astonishingly successful fulfilled promise on border security, achieved within the first 100 days of his second term by his most underestimated Cabinet secretary, Kristi Noem, the tough-minded Homeland Security chief pilloried by the left as “ICE Barbie” because they can’t find anything real to criticize. Thanks to Noem and “border czar” Tom Homan, as well as the president’s own Day One executive orders, Trump could truthfully declare at the end of

Quite apart from the Fed’s rather dovish interest rate cuts — they’re signaling two more quarter point drops after today’s move — one of the things that struck me about today’s announcement is how much the central bank apparently opposes President Trump’s pro-growth economic policies. Mr. Trump’s supply-side tax cuts and deregulation moves are going to boost economic growth while keeping prices low. Already, second-quarter gross domestic product growth has come in at 3.3 percent and the Atlanta Fed’s GDPNow is projecting another 3.3 percent in the third quarter.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is getting blasted on social media after posting a picture supporting American Federation of Teachers (AFT) chief Randi Weingarten’s new book that suggests her political opponents are "fascists." "Congratulations to my friend [Weingarten] on ‘Why Fascists Fear Teachers.’ From banning books to controlling curriculum, authoritarians go after public education because it's a cornerstone of democracy," Clinton posted on Wednesday, along with a picture of Weingarten holding the book. "Randi's new book is a critical read for this moment," she wrote.

When the Preference Cascade Becomes a Flood 4 replies

I’ve written before about preference cascades — where large portions of the public, often a majority, conceal their views for fear of punishment, only to reveal those views when some precipitating event takes place. Classic examples include the fall of Communist regimes, like Ceausescu’s Romania, where even Ceausescu himself thought everyone loved him until shortly before he was stood in front of a wall and shot. Usually those happen in one direction. But in contemporary America, they’re happening in two. The murder of Charlie Kirk at the hands of a leftist gunman has revealed that many, many more Americans — and even people elsewhere around the world — supported Charlie

Recently declassified documents indicate that people close to former FBI Director James Comey and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff were connected to leaks of classified information to prominent reporters designed to portray Donald Trump and his allies as being in league with Russia.  Written in 2017, the FBI documents expose how selected Washington reporters, including Ellen Nakashima of the Washington Post and Michael Schmidt of the New York Times, scored a series of Pulitzer Prize-winning scoops in 2017 by repeating false and inflammatory leaks during President Trump’s first term.   Much of their reporting has been debunked – and shown to be part of a smear campaign by high-ranking officials to undermine Trump,

Liberal host Bill Maher mourned the killing of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk, contrasting conservatives who embrace dialogue with far-left activists who, he argued, seek to silence it. "Look, I might drink a little more than usual today," Maher told guest Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins. "Because I don’t know when this is airing, but this is a s--- day. A guy who sat there – Charlie Kirk – got shot today, and I can't stop thinking about it." Kirk’s assassination during a campus event stunned the nation and reignited a national conversation about the value of political dialogue – even across deeply divided ideological lines.

A House Republican is demanding that Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., be stripped of her committee assignments, accusing her of making disparaging comments toward Charlie Kirk after his assassination last week. Rep. Buddy Carter, R-Ga., is introducing a resolution on Monday to remove Omar from her two current committees: the House Budget Committee and the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. She is the top Democrat on the latter panel's Subcommittee on Workforce Protections. It's part of the continued fallout from Kirk's killing in Utah during a college speaking event.

It’s funny that they all suddenly care about censorship, free speech, and cancel culture, isn’t it? And the chilling effects that had on open expression? Have they looked at Hollywood lately? Ever hear of a culture of silence and a climate of fear that has all but gutted a once-thriving industry? Do they remember why Elon Musk had to buy Twitter? How many people did we watch unpersoned, disappeared, and banished from utopia? How many lives have been ruined just for daring to speak the truth about the differences between biological men and women? Remember All Lives Matter? Remember Blue Lives Matter?

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) claimed that just because people commit crimes, it “doesn’t make them a criminal,” adding that it depends on the person’s “mindset.” During an interview with “genderqueer” Netflix star Jonathan Van Ness, Crockett was asked about having worked as a public defender, and what she wished that “people knew.” Crockett responded by explaining that when you are “assigned to only deal with indigent people” you end up learning “a lot about yourself.” “It’s just understanding what ends up having people become criminally impacted really informs so much of what I do legislatively, right?”

Some people should be afraid to express their opinion in public.” Xu, who grew up in Connecticut, is a second-year student at Oberlin College in Ohio majoring in politics and international affairs, according to an online college blog viewed by

Great News for America: The ratings challenged Jimmy Kimmel Show is CANCELLED. Congratulations to ABC for finally having the courage to do what had to be done. Kimmel has ZERO talent, and worse ratings than even Colbert, if that’s possible. That leaves Jimmy and Seth, two total losers, on Fake News NBC. Their ratings are also horrible. Do it NBC!!! President DJT. Kirk had remarked on X in 2017, “Jimmy Kimmel isn’t funny.” His observation gained attention again on social media as users reacted to the network’s decision to remove Kimmel following backlash over his on-air comments about Kirk’s assassination.

With the news breaking on Wednesday Night that Jimmy Kimmel saw his late-night show suspended, there has been no shortage of voices of outrage from the left. The squealing and mewling over this has not been heard since way back to… about a month ago, when a similar amount of teeth-gnashing was taking place over Stephen Colbert getting canceled. While I am no fan of seeing possible government leverage being applied to broadcasters over content, this is a result that the same wailing class has been attempting to provoke for years. Case in point: CNN’s media maven Brian Stelter has been weighing in (pun completely intended) on this suspension,

Jimmy Kimmel is reportedly “absolutely f–king livid” over ABC’s decision to axe his late-night night show following backlash to his remarks about Charlie Kirk’s assassination – while President Trump cheered the move as “great news for America.” The comedian, 57, was left fuming over the network’s Wednesday decision to suspend him and pull “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” off the air “indefinitely” after he unleashed a hateful tirade against the gunned down conservative activist during Monday night’s monologue, sources and producers told the Daily Mail.

The radical left’s late-night propaganda machine took a massive hit this week as Jimmy Kimmel’s show was yanked from the airwaves following his despicable lies about the assassination of conservative icon Charlie Kirk. And now, in a delicious twist of poetic justice, ABC affiliates are set to replace the dirtbag comedian’s time slot with a heartfelt special tribute to Kirk himself. On Wednesday, Nexstar announced that all 32 of its ABC broadcast affiliates will preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” indefinitely, blasting Kimmel’s sick comments about Kirk’s murder as “offensive and insensitive.”

The Labour Party government has argued that allowing Sharia courts to operate in the United Kingdom is a fundamental “British value” and has refused to distance itself from a broad stroke definition of so-called Islamophobia, which critics say would brand discussions around Muslim child rape grooming gangs as potentially illegally racist. Pressed on Tuesday in the House of Commons by Reform UK’s Sarah Pochin as to whether the government supported the existence of Sharia courts in the UK, Minister of State for Courts and Legal Services, Sarah Sackman, unequivocally backed their right to operate. The left is in the middle of a full-blown manic response over Jimmy Kimmel's show being indefinitely preempted after a decision by affiliates and ABC. This followed Kimmel's disgraceful remarks alleging MAGA was desperately trying to spin the narrative that Kirk's accused killer wasn't one of them. That flew in the face of facts that the authorities have laid out regarding the case, and frankly, could deceive the public. ABC decided to pull the show after its Nexstar affiliate called the comments "offensive." That sparked a meltdown from Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), who blamed Trump.
