A Visit To The Scottish Lassie’s Home Turf

Her bravery has inspired the world. But in her hometown, her actions have met a muted response. To find out the truth, I visited the exact place in Dundee where the now-famous video of the Scottish lassie defending herself and her sister was taken. What I saw left me deeply shaken. Dundee, a port city north of Edinburgh in Scotland, has been in slow-motion decline since the late 19th century. The intricately carved sandstone facades of its historic buildings are the only reminder of its glory days, when it was the world’s centre of jute fabric production.

Comments:

100 million pounds per month for illegal immigrants to be housed in fine hotels, but not anything for the violence, or the poor or the violent insane in Scotland. Nothing much for policing in Lochee. Only criminalize a girl trying to defend herself and her sister.

FTA: " For girls like our Scottish lassie, Britain’s elite offers only arrest and criminalization, not a future based on human dignity. This is how a nation dies." The very last Breath of Great Britain died with Elizabeth, Regina... How sad for 1000 years of History to leave in such a slovenly fashion!

Hey, I know of a guy named Donald who knows how to clean up criminal-infested places. His mother was born in Scotland. Maybe he could offer his services. This situation is so tragic I'm sitting here crying.

Depressing. Great Britain has finally lost its way. Sometimes I think that generationally all of the best Britons and the French died in scores of centuries of battle, so purely by process of natural selection the only men that remain are in the lineage of the weak, the feckless, and the cowardly.

The greatest fear I have is for our (America's) future. If by some awful way the dems get a majority in congress and the presidency, we could easily come roaring back to another Biden-like term but 10 times worse. If that were to happen, I'm positive that everything President Trump has done will be stopped / reversed immediately ("If Trump was for it, we're against it !"), just like Biden's first 6 months in office, and democrat threats to ensure they never lose an election again will be enacted (stacked court, DC and Puerto Rico statehood - heck, throw Guam and the US Virgin Islands in there too), wide open borders again, arrests and persecution of enemies. Basically, take a look at England and France and that's where we'd be in 2 years.

You have to figure that behind all the crime and drug dealing that in the background, adversarial countries are covertly engineering the smuggling of illicit drugs and masses of illegal aliens to undermine from within, the two most prominent Western countries, the USA and the UK. There is no doubt unless the very weak government in the UK is not changed that it is well on its way to transition into a Islamic Caliphate, we will know that has happened when the apparent very weak and woke King there suggests that a Islamic Star and Crescent be placed on the Union Jack. Those adversarial countries that are governed by leaders who stay in place indefinitely recognize that Trump will only stay in place for about three and a half years, with a 50/50 chance that Trump will be succeeded by some leftist, progressive, and socialist Democrat politician who will “open” the US borders again to all poor and uneducated illegal alien comers from the so-called Third World. So chances are what has been allowed to happen in the UK by the very weak leftist government there, will similarly happen to the USA in the years ahead.

Britain is being roiled by protests against its government’s feckless immigration policies. Enormous numbers of “asylum seekers” have been welcomed into that country, fed and housed. A disproportionate number of those migrants are single men, and many native Britons understandably see their presence as an invasion that is being abetted by their own government. The commission of many sex crimes by these migrants has been the chief source of unrest.

In a reversal of one of the most prominent biomedical investment trends of the past five years, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) announced on August 5 a coordinated wind-down of its mRNA vaccine development efforts under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA). To be clear, it is not a ban on mRNA, but the changes carry significant repercussions for mRNA vaccine research. The decision affects 22 federal vaccine projects and nearly $500 million in research and development contracts. It follows what HHS described as a “comprehensive review” of data from mRNA-related initiatives launched during the COVID-19 public health emergency.

One of the places I visited during a trip to the Balkans in June was a large nuclear bunker complex on the outskirts of Tiranë, the capital of Albania. It’s a massive underground structure—five stories, 106 rooms, and a two-story-high assembly hall, all covering 32,000 square feet—and was built in the 1970s during the height of the Cold War to shelter Albania’s Stalinist leader Enver Hoxha and his inner circle. Dug by hand, the bunker claimed the lives of many laborers. One could see it as the culmination of the many smaller domed concrete bunkers scattered across Albania’s landscape, cities, and beaches.

A computer is only as good as the data you put into it. That warning from the early days of computing -- garbage in, garbage out -- has never been more relevant than in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). AI now drives everything from search engines to image generators, yet instead of providing objective, data-backed insights, it too often parrots progressive narratives, twisting facts to match feelings. Case in point: despite U.S. Census Bureau data indicating that over 75% of Americans identify as white, AI-generated images of “typical Americans” often show mostly non-white groups. This isn’t intelligence. It’s indoctrination, built into algorithms by ideologues in Silicon Valley.

Three years ago Patrick Adamiak was an E-6 in the Navy, on his way to finishing a military career. At 28, he had a private business selling popular gun parts and replica, non-firing weapons. Today, he’s nearing his third year in a federal prison, serving a 20-year sentence. His life fell apart when the ATF decided to take an interest in him. They raided his home and found nothing illegal, just gun parts and entirely legal, semiautomatic guns. But these were the Biden/Garland years and guns of any kind, and gun owners, were in their crosshairs.

Our South Carolina neighborhood has green cans for garbage and blue cans for recycling. All our neighbors dutifully separate their garbage. We don’t, and we don’t for a very specific reason. What I discovered a couple of years ago is that, while different trucks drive around collecting blue and green cans on garbage day, at the end of the shift, the trucks dump all the garbage into the same landfill. It’s a scam that, according to my local representative, makes people feel good about themselves. When I lived in Marin County, California, we also had to separate our garbage. That wasn’t surprising, though

Simpson vowed to find the “real killers” after his acquittal. Read said outside the courtroom Wednesday, “No one has fought harder for justice for John O’Keefe than I have.” As Simpson tormenter Norm Macdonald might joke if cancer did not murder him: What terrible luck that the person who fights the hardest for justice for you winds up murdering you. Read stood accused of killing her Boston policeman boyfriend with her car in a 2022 snowstorm after a night of hard drinking.

In December 2009, the Endangerment Finding was born when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under then-president Obama ruled that carbon dioxide (CO2) endangered human health and thus could be regulated as a pollutant. The EPA’s action flowed from an expansive and unjustified decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that CO2 was a pollutant simply because it was emitted into the air, and if the agency found it endangered human health or welfare, it could regulate it. VOX has referred to the court’s decision as the Roe v. Wade of climate policy, and VOX is right.[snip] CO2 is not listed as a pollutant or hazardous chemical under the 1970 Clean Air Act

A London academic has appealed to policymakers and military leaders to consider taking remedial action to minimise the impact of civil wars, which he warns have become a distinct possibility in Western nations. Professor of War in the Modern World, David Betz of King’s College London, has claimed that many European countries now exhibit signs of being in a pre-civil war state. According to his research, there is a statistically significant chance of a war breaking out in the next five years in a Western state, and given Europe’s interconnected nature, it could spark similar conflicts in neighbouring nations.

But it was Greta Thunberg–specifically, her haircut–that more than anything else, provided material for meme-makers. Here we go with this week’s collection:

Was floating a ban on trans people owning guns just some basement-level idiot’s idea for “owning the libs”? In the wake of Robin Westman’s deadly Minneapolis rampage, some troll in the bowels of the Trump Justice Department reportedly proposed blocking trans people from buying firearms by declaring them all “mentally ill.” This, of course, is absurd as a simple matter of law: No rule that strips a (dubiously-defined) group of their Second Amendment rights has any chance of holding up in court. And if it did somehow survive, that’s an open invitation for future progs to create their own “mentally ill by definition” categories — deployable to limit lots of other rights.

Here is why: I spent the last year examining the six major “lawfare” cases against President Trump in between his two presidential administrations, and the E. Jean Carroll case was easily the most absurd on its face. Key details: in 2019, advice columnist and former Saturday Night Live writer E. Jean Carroll wrote an account in New York magazine alleging that Donald Trump sexually assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in 1995. Or maybe it was 1996. She can’t exactly remember.
