Karen Read, the OJ Simpson of Massachusetts

Original Article

Posted By: DVC, 6/20/2025 3:57:32 PM

A Massachusetts jury found Karen Read not guilty of murder by reason of O.J. Simpson on Wednesday. If the broken taillight did not hit, you must acquit. O.J. Simpson vowed to find the “real killers” after his acquittal. Read said outside the courtroom Wednesday, “No one has fought harder for justice for John O’Keefe than I have.” As Simpson tormenter Norm Macdonald might joke if cancer did not murder him: What terrible luck that the person who fights the hardest for justice for you winds up murdering you. Read stood accused of killing her Boston policeman boyfriend with her car in a 2022 snowstorm after a night of hard drinking.

Comments:

Author Flynn is a level headed guy, based on reading his stuff for years. Her car onboard systems showed that she reversed at 24 mph for 60 feet at the exact time of death of the victim. It was snowing heavily....24 mph in reverse is pretty crazy on dry pavement. I didn't follow the case. I had no opinion. Now I do have an opinion. Juries in Massachussetts are truly worthy of the Massholes appelation.

Flynn seems to have missed the medical information that O'Keefe's injuries were only to his head. Inconsistent with having been hit by a car.

I'm from the area. O'Keefe had dog bites and black eyes . He was beaten to a pulp the poor guy. She didn't kill him backing up in a driveway.

So who beat O'Keefe? His cop friends? I agree totally with OP. Get a hot defense attorney who comes up with "conspiracy" theories, and you'll get enough jurors to believe anything. Plant one little doubt and people today will acquit everyone, especially if you are easily manipulated, and the person on trial is attractive or famous, ala O J.

I don't agree with the verdict, but what's done is done. I probably will not be watching Court TV again until the infatuation with Read subsides.

OP, the defense showed more than enough reasonable doubt to acquit her. I didn't read the article you posted but I'm sure it doesn't say a word about the corrupt Mass. State Police, Canton Police Dept, Mass. judiciary, and Norfolk County district attorney's office. During the court testimony of a key witness, the prosecutor objected over 40 times to defense questions and the judge sustained every one. When the prosecution questioned the same witness, she overruled all the defense's objections. I grew up in Mass. so I'm quite familiar with how the "townies" work.

One of the jurors said all of them agreed he was not killed in a collision. Since that was the Commonweath's entire case they had to vote not guilty. There is an ongoing Civil case against KR so we'll see how that goes.

Obviously neither the OP nor Flynn followed the trial. If they had, they'd know there was enough reasonable doubt to drive a mack truck thru. Two trials and two different juries couldn't/wouldn't convict her. A tragedy to be sure, but it proves the old adage that nothing good happens after midnight, especially when there's plenty of alcohol. A comparison to Simpson is too much of a stretch and beyond the pale IMO.

Ridiculous article. I watched most of the trial and noted the following: The Judge was another Judge Ito. The cops and their family members were not believable. The D.A. was unqualified for his position. I always thought you needed to state a reason if you object, but not with this Judge. I pretty sure I can tell you who did the crime but I don't want to influence his trial! (Let's hope they indict him!)

End the EPA’s Endangerment Finding 2 replies

In December 2009, the Endangerment Finding was born when the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under then-president Obama ruled that carbon dioxide (CO2) endangered human health and thus could be regulated as a pollutant. The EPA’s action flowed from an expansive and unjustified decision by the U.S. Supreme Court that CO2 was a pollutant simply because it was emitted into the air, and if the agency found it endangered human health or welfare, it could regulate it. VOX has referred to the court’s decision as the Roe v. Wade of climate policy, and VOX is right.[snip] CO2 is not listed as a pollutant or hazardous chemical under the 1970 Clean Air Act

A London academic has appealed to policymakers and military leaders to consider taking remedial action to minimise the impact of civil wars, which he warns have become a distinct possibility in Western nations. Professor of War in the Modern World, David Betz of King’s College London, has claimed that many European countries now exhibit signs of being in a pre-civil war state. According to his research, there is a statistically significant chance of a war breaking out in the next five years in a Western state, and given Europe’s interconnected nature, it could spark similar conflicts in neighbouring nations.

After Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. booted the 17-member CDC vaccine advisory panel, the naysayers in the press clutched their pearls and howled their horrors. Here's a typical reaction from -- where else? -- MSNBC: Dr. Sean O’Leary, an infectious disease expert with the American Academy of Pediatrics, told NBC News that Kennedy’s evidence-free accusations are “deeply insulting to the many scientists who contribute countless hours to the process.” The doctor noted that the ACIP panel is “a model for the rest of the world,” adding that Kennedy is now responsible for “manufactured chaos.”

Violence is the last refuge of the incompetent. --Isaac Asimov There can no longer be a shred of doubt that the Democrats, or, the left, loves and uses violence as a tactic in its war against America. They hate Trump and his supporters precisely because they love their country and the traditional values on which this nation was founded. Is there a person on the planet who does not realize that all the protests against ICE deportations are organized, and the participants recruited and paid? During the first week of June every year, I remember my father, Gilbert C. Frye, and what he experienced as part of the landing on Utah Beach on D-Day. I would like to share an excerpt of his written memories, which we pressed him to create. (He never talked about his experiences.) Going for D-Day: The weather that evening was marginal at best, foggy and drizzly, typical English soup. After a restless night spent aboard the landing craft — wherever we could find room to “bed down” with blanket, at dawn next morning

If you were to ask any Democrat about germ warfare in the Americas, you’d almost surely hear from them about the time that “Americans” tried to kill Indians with smallpox-infected blankets. After all, it’s right there in Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States, the most read (and most Marxist) history book in American education. The fact that it was an officer in the British military, not the colonists, who did this once in 1763 is irrelevant. Our nation is tarred. Given the Democrat obsession with this particular “germ warfare” (conducted at a time when germ theory didn’t exist and, moreover, it was an exercise that almost certainly failed)

Two Chinese nationals have been charged with allegedly smuggling into the U.S. a fungus called "Fusarium graminearum, which scientific literature classifies as a potential agroterrorism weapon," the Justice Department said Tuesday. Yunqing Jian, 33, and Zunyong Liu, 34, citizens of the People’s Republic of China, were allegedly receiving Chinese government funding for their research, some of it at the University of Michigan, officials said. "The complaint also alleges that Jian’s electronics contain information describing her membership in and loyalty to the Chinese Communist Party," a DOJ press release said. "It is further alleged that Jian’s boyfriend, Liu, works at a Chinese university where he conducts research on the same pathogen
Minneapolis: the consent decree is dead 2 replies

In Minneapolis’ consent decree suicide I wrote of the consent decree that Biden’s Handler’s Administration, in the waning days of that corrupt administration, tried to impose on the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). If enacted, it would have branded the MPD as systemically racist and made it all but impossible to do its job, particularly where minority criminals were concerned. It would have allowed the federal DOJ, through a monitor hired at some $750,000 per year, to daily micromanage the MPD. Such consent decrees are essentially eternal. Implementation and paperwork mandates would have cost Minneapolis far more than a mere $750,000 per year.

In 2020, the United States faced the shock of a new pandemic -- but also a baffling medical mystery: the disappearance of the seasonal flu. While COVID-19 cases dominated headlines and hospital beds, flu diagnoses plummeted to "too low to estimate," according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, with later estimates at a mere 2000. That’s not just a statistical anomaly -- it’s a statistical impossibility. From an estimated 48 million cases in 2019–2020, the flu dropped to 2000 cases, statistically zero, in 2020–2021, amounting to a 99.999998% decrease --

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson unloaded on her Supreme Court colleagues Friday in a series of sharp dissents, castigating what she called a "pure textualism" approach to interpreting laws, which she said had become a pretext for securing their desired outcomes, and implying the conservative justices have strayed from their oath by showing favoritism to "moneyed interests." The attack on the court's conservative majority by the junior justice and member of the liberal wing is notably pointed and aggressive but stopped short of getting personal. It laid bare the stark divisions on the court and pent-up frustration in the minority over what Jackson described as inconsistent and unfair application of precedent

Shortly after sunrise, Iran launched a barrage of 20-30 missiles in three waves, according to Israel’s Army Radio. Sirens were sounded in the north, and then throughout the entire country. Most of the missiles were intercepted by Israel’s air defenses; the missile that hit the port city of Haifa, where Arabs and Jews live side-by-side, was the only one that caused injuries on the ground. It turns out that one of the damaged buildings was the Al-Jreena Mosque, one of the most important Muslim houses of worship in the city. Muslim clerics, or imams, were in the mosque, presumably ahead of weekly juma’ah services held on Fridays.
