The MAGA movement has its sights set on expanding into governors’ mansions around the country. A handful of prominent allies of President Trump are pursuing gubernatorial bids, viewing it as a way to expand the MAGA agenda beyond Washington and set themselves up for potential future bids for higher office. That means looking beyond 2028, when Vice President Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are viewed as the heavy favorites to lead the GOP presidential ticket. That’s left some on the up-and-coming GOP bench going local. Rep. Byron Donalds (Fla.) is running for governor in Florida, Sen. Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.) is running in Tennessee, Vivek Ramaswamy is campaigning in Ohio,

Nice picture of AOC in your daily cartoon. A glut of really bad governors have taken over many states and good people need to replace them. It shouldn't have been so easy for numnutz people like Hochul, Pritzker, Newsom, Whitmer, Walz, Shapiro, Christie, Hobbs, etc. to achieve those powerful positions and that must be corrected. Much damage has been done to our states since the days of The Lightbringer.

President Trump has threatened to send National Guard troops into more American cities after deploying soldiers in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles this year He’s highlighted Baltimore and Chicago as cities in particular need of help fighting crime, though Monday he appeared to back off his threat to unilaterally deploy the National Guard into cities uninvited. Baltimore has the third-highest rate of violent crime, while Chicago ranks 29th among cities with at least 500,000 residents, according to the latest FBI data. Trump’s focus on cities in blue states — those led by Democratic governors — with Black mayors has drawn criticism from Democrats,

After more than six months in office and two weeks after ordering the National Guard into Washington D.C. to aid local police in fighting the Democrat-run city’s epidemic of violent crime, Trump’s job approval rating jumped five points, from 40 percent in July to 45 percent today. In this particular poll, that 45 percent is a record high, reaching back to when the AP first started tracking the president’s job approval in 2016. The poll also shows that a vast majority of the public agrees with Trump on a number of issues Democrats oppose him on.

The mother of the lone transgender gunman who killed two students and injured 17 others at the Annunciation Church and Catholic School on Wednesday morning was an employee at the school, police said. While the motives of Robin Westman, 23, remain unclear, police identified the suspect’s mother as Mary Grace Westman, who spent five years working as a secretary at the Annunciation school in Minneapolis until she retired in 2021, according to a Facebook post and a blog on the church’s website.

A Democratic candidate has defeated an extremist Republican in a state senate election in Iowa, claiming that voters are “waking up” to realise Donald Trump’s party “sold the working class a bill of goods”. Catelin Drey flipped Iowa state senate district 1, beating Christopher Prosch in a special election held on Tuesday to fill the seat of the late senator Rocky De Witt. Prosch had aligned himself with Trump’s Maga movement, floating conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election and climate crisis. He also compared abortion access to the Holocaust.

As RedState previously reported, California Democrats are steamrolling ahead on plans to enact new redistricting maps, starting with passing a package of bills pushed for and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) this month on grounds that they were doing it For the People™. The bills greenlight a November special election, where voters will decide on whether to "temporarily" suspend the voter-approved independent redistricting commission process and allow the state to enact maps drawn by Democrat "leaders" in the state legislature, including two who reportedly are considering running in those districts, to counter mid-decade redistricting moves made by the Texas state legislature.

White House Correspondent Iris Tao publicly thanked President Donald Trump after revealing she had been robbed and pistol-whipped outside her apartment in Washington, D.C. “Mr. President, thank you so much for what you’re doing right now,” Tao said. “Thank you for now making D.C. safer for us, our families, and my baby on the way.” Her comments come as Trump’s federal crime crackdown continues to show results. As of this month, violent crime in the nation's capital has dropped significantly following Trump’s deployment of federal resources and direct coordination with law enforcement. Repeat offenders are being prosecuted, gang activity is being dismantled, and high-crime areas are seeing a return to order.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that his administration will seek the death penalty as punishment for murders committed in the nation’s capital. Trump revealed the plans to pursue the death penalty in D.C. homicide cases during the White House Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday. If somebody kills somebody in the capital, Washington, DC, we’re going to be seeking the death penalty. And that’s a very strong preventative, and everybody that’s heard it agrees with it,” he said. “I don’t know if we’re ready for it in this country, but we… have no choice.” Trump added that states will have to make their own decisions on the matter.

Lee’s arrival to the White House came just hours after Trump described the political turmoil in South Korea as a “purge or revolution,” writing on Truth Social that the United States “can’t have that and do business there.” The pre-meeting post was in response to tensions building in South Korea following the ouster of conservative former President Yoon Suk-yeol,

He should be nervous. A grand jury in Maryland is weighing criminal indictments for Schiff over alleged mortgage fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud and false statements to financial institutions that were uncovered by the Federal Housing Finance Agency, claiming he certified both a Maryland property and a California condominium as his primary residence for tax and mortgage purposes.

The biggest, boldest lie of every welfare state is that the goods and services it is providing to its citizens are "free." Those of us with brain cells and an aversion to lying know that this is not only untrue, but also impossible. Politicians are fond of throwing taxpayer dollars around like drunk Kennedy cousins on summer break in Monte Carlo in order to make voters love them. Despite being full-throated advocates for "sustainability" when it comes to almost anything else, socialist welfare state types are committed to an economic system that simply cannot go on forever. We need to mark this one freeze frame, this digital data point in time, as that moment leftist lunacy was fully exposed in its utter moral collapse. We think we've seen it before in the election losses, the USAID money laundering scandal, the cheating vote counters, the Beria school of malpractice at the Justice Department, and cheering for criminals. However, this moment, this snapshot, says it all.Like a controlled demolition of an old relic of a building, the scene in a Mexican restaurant captured on video showed a piece-by-piece, trope-by-trope implosion of the leftist superstructure built on the foundation of bigotry, lunacy, and hearsay.

Britain's Royal Air Force scrambled spy planes as it joined NATO in a huge hunt for a Russian submarine suspected of threatening a US aircraft carrier off Norway. In what defence sources are calling a 'highly unusual surge' of activity, NATO allies have deployed at least 27 specialist submarine-hunting sorties since Sunday in an urgent bid to track the vessel. The operation, which insiders insist is not a drill, comes as the USS Gerald R. Ford - the most advanced and expensive aircraft carrier in the world, worth around £11 billion, carries out exercises with the Norwegian Navy in Arctic waters.

One reason that many Republican voters took a shine to Donald Trump in 2016 was the way he showed no respect to the national chattering classes of the Democrat-media complex. George W. Bush was a kinder, gentler Republican -- and they compared him to Hitler. No matter which flavor of Republican was elected, the "objective" media savaged him. We've reached the 20th anniversary of deadly Hurricane Katrina in the Gulf of Mexico, which killed an estimated 1,836 Americans. But misinformation landed first. NBC and MSNBC tremendously hyped Democrat Mayor Ray Nagin's "Today" show estimate of 10,000 dead in New Orleans.

In March 2023, California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) stood in front of cameras and made a bold promise: 1,200 taxpayer-funded "tiny homes" would be deployed across the state by that fall to combat the exploding homelessness crisis. The cost? A staggering $750 million from California taxpayers. However, as we approach fall 2025, neither the 1,200 homes nor any trace of the $750 million can be found. This is California under Democrat control: big promises, bloated budgets, and nothing to show for it.
