Cracker Barrel shed almost $100 million in market value after its stock plunged Thursday following the release of a new logo. The new design eliminates a longstanding drawing of an overall-clad man leaning against a barrel, in favor of a cleaner logo featuring just the chain's name. Shares of Cracker Barrel fell $4.22, or 7.2%, to $54.80 in Thursday trading, shedding $94 million in market value. The stock had dipped to a low of $50.27 earlier in the day, representing a loss of almost $200 billion in its capitalization.

A serial pedophile has agreed to be castrated as part of a plea deal after he was caught trying to sexually assault a seven-year-old girl.
Thomas Allen McCartney, 37, is classified a 'Tier Three' offender and is considered one of Louisiana's worst child predators. McCartney has agreed to be both physically and chemically castrated as part of plea deal Tuesday in order to reduce his prison sentence - although he'll still spend 40 years in prison, according to local station Fox 12. Louisiana is the first and only state to allow surgical castration to be used as a punishment for sex crimes.

DC Superior Court Judge Kendra Briggs, a Biden appointee, released two of the ‘teens’ who attacked former DOGE member Edward Coristine, AKA “Big Balls.” Earlier this month, 19-year-old Edward Coristine was severely beaten in DC after he jumped into action to save his significant other’s life. Trump posted a photo of Coristine after he was beaten bloody by the mob of teens. The President has since federalized DC to crack down on crime.[snip] Judge Briggs released one teen to a youth shelter and the other to his mother.

From the Miami Herald,
Judge orders Alligator Alcatraz shut down in 60 days, says no more new detainees.
It’s an Obama-appointed federal district judge, of course, and this is the case involving the alleged “environmental damage” being done to one of the world’s biggest swamps. From the Herald,
Though her order does not prohibit the state from making repairs to the site, the most striking aspect of the order is her demand that the state begin removing all generators, gas, sewage, and other waste items that have transformed the airstrip into a detention center within 60 days, rendering the site uninhabitable.
The state of Florida, of course, is appealing the decision.

FBI agents on Thursday morning raided the Maryland home of John Bolton, the former national security advisor to President Donald Trump and a staunch critic of the president, NBC News confirmed.
The raid is part of a “national security investigation in search of classified records,” a person familiar with the matter told NBC News.
An FBI official said, “The FBI is conducting court authorized activity in the area. There is no threat to public safety,” but declined to comment on Bolton, according to NBC.
FBI Director Kash Patel tweeted “NO ONE is above the law… @FBI agents on mission” at around 7 a.m. ET, the same time his agents reportedly arrived

Weren’t we assured that Barack Obama went “into and out of office with not a whiff of scandal”? Yes we were. Former Washington Post columnist Richard Cohen told us so, as did many others. But it wasn’t true. There are many, the most recent a claim that Obama, and then Joe Biden, pressured bank executives to deny services to conservatives. It’s a serious charge that, like the Russia hoax, makes Watergate look like a sandbox squabble.
Here’s what we’ve learned: Acccording to Fox Business, major bank executives said “they were under pressure by the Obama and Biden administrations to deny services to individuals and businesses for political reasons.”

The MSNBC anchor Lawrence O’Donnell believes he’s on to a scandal: The US president who held a snap summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska, and then, immediately after, hosted a spontaneous meeting with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky and major European leaders at the White House, is so debilitated that he can barely function.
His evidence is that Donald Trump had a light public schedule a couple of days after this flurry of in-person, high-stakes diplomacy.
This would be little like a critic of Charles Lindbergh accusing the landmark aviator of being a layabout

In what is being called the largest single-year cut in civilian federal employment since World War II, 2025 will end with 300,000 fewer workers employed by the United States government.
New Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Scott Kupor told several news outlets, most recently the New York Times, that the federal workforce will drop from 2.4 million to 2.1 million employees, largely as the result of the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) efforts.
In a lengthy interview this week with Washington, DC, station WTOP, Kupor said that up to 80 percent of the reductions

In roughly three years, Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson has established herself as one of the most recognized members of the Supreme Court — and not in a good way.
Despite being the most junior justice on the high court, Jackson has regularly gone out of her way to thumb her nose at her colleagues for upholding America’s constitutional framework. Whether it be through public comments or poorly written opinions, the Biden appointee has shown little respect for the longstanding traditions and collegiality that have defined SCOTUS for generations.

The legal situation surrounding Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal alien from El Salvador, continues to rack up twists and turns. But while his Friday release from jail seemed like a big victory, a new development has completely changed the game.
Originally deported by the Trump administration to his home country in early 2025, the case immediately drew national attention. (Snip) As it turns out, petitioning the court for release appears to have been a big mistake.
According to immigration reporter Bill Melugin, the ICE is already moving to not only detain Abrego Garcia, but to deport him to Uganda.

Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears attended a meeting held by the Arlington County School Board to discuss their bathroom policy after a convicted sex offender was allowed to use the ladies’ restroom by claiming to be transgender. It drew a rally of pro-transgender supporters, some of whom had deliciously racist signs for Ms. Sears, the GOP’s 2025 gubernatorial candidate. The Democrats in Virginia at least have embraced their party’s Klan roots.
The sign read, “Hey Winsome, if trans can’t share your bathroom, then blacks can’t share my water fountain.” The woman who asked not to be identified said it was satire and meant to provoke debate.

Talking points are out instructing Democrats to stop using terms like “birthing person” and “LGBTQIA+” and to begin talking again like Normal People.[snip] The Third Way, a leftist think tank that poses as moderate, released a memo Thursday calling on Democrats “Who Wish to Stop Donald Trump and MAGA” to stop using “words and phrases no ordinary person would ever dream of saying.”[snip] First, what we have here is a call coming from inside the house. Democrats are openly telling Democrats that they have lost the culture wars, which they have, because Democrats have become anti-fun, anti-truth, oppressive, humorless, anti-normal killjoys
