A federal district court in Philadelphia ruled against the Little Sisters of the Poor and the Trump administration on Wednesday, blocking exemptions that prevent religious groups from being required to cover birth control costs in their health plans.
Despite previous failed attempts to force the sisters to conform, the states of Pennsylvania and New Jersey sued the Trump administration — joined by intervenors Little Sisters of the Poor — over a religious exception to the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) contraception mandate established during the first Trump admin.

That's ugly, putting Pennsylvania and New Jersey on the same side in anything. We share a border but that's it. Shapiro can't go away fast enough.

You're OK with Sharia law and the Religion that throws gay people off buildings, but won't let Catholic Nuns follow their Religion? You need to reread the Constitution; you have it all wrong.

If the nuns can do this, then it sets a precedent for all other insurers to pick and choose what they will cover. Simple as that.

Appeal it up the chain. Better yet, repeal Obama-care. You CANNOT force activities that abrogate long established practice. Leave Littlew Sisters of the Poor, alone!!
The problem in these North-Eastern States is the Democrat Party is entrenched due to long standing traditions and mechanisms of fraud. The Dems are literally about 1/3 of the population, but they ALWAYS have just enough votes to win.

In 2020, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in favor of the Little Sisters of the Poor withdrawing from the contraception part of ObamaCare. Where does the jurisdiction come from? Does SCOTUS need to respond again? I remember when Charles Krauthammer said, "They're not even the Big Sisters of the Poor."

Why should ANY organization be required to pay for birth control pills when these are now available over the counter? Someone else should have to pay for your sexual behaviors?

The judge...
Wendy Beetlestone (born 1961) is the chief United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
Biography
Beetlestone was born in Ibadan, Nigeria to a British father, John Beetlestone, who was a chemistry professor at the University of Ibadan, and an American mother, Clare Watson. She attended the International School Ibadan and later Rishworth School in Yorkshire. In 1984, Beetlestone graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Liverpool. In 1993, she earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
On June 16, 2014, President Barack Obama nominated Beetlestone to serve as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
On December 15, 2017, Beetlestone issued a nationwide injunction prohibiting the enforcement of regulations that allowed employers to refuse to cover contraception in their employees' insurance plans if they have either religious objections to birth control or “sincerely held moral convictions” against it. “It is difficult,” Judge Beetlestone wrote, “to comprehend a rule that does more to undermine the contraceptive mandate or that intrudes more into the lives of women.”
Judge Beetlestone issued a second nationwide injunction after President Trump issued revised rules. On July 8, 2020, these decisions were overturned by the Supreme Court of the United States.

Wasn't this same kind of thing thrown out by the Supreme Court in the ObamaCare versus Hobby Lobby about ten years ago where they could not be forced to pay for this?

Twice the Supreme Court has ruled in favor of this group of nuns, and yet, damned judges continue their leftist illegal crusade.
This will be slapped down, AGAIN.

Call the Pope; he speaks English. Even lowly Presbyterians understand "Papal Encyclical."

These abortion issues make me crazy...I can't imagine that any people want the nuns to put aside their beliefs and condone killing of babies....and Nancy Pelosi...a catholic herself has...by her votes...condemned millions of babies to their death...the body parts companies must have paid her a lot....it's a sick game these lefties play....but...the ole girl will some day soon have to negotiate with the main gatekeeper...and I wish I could listen in....
