Newsmax will pay $67 million to settle a libel lawsuit over its false claims that Dominion Voting Systems had changed votes in the 2020 presidential election. As part of the settlement, Newsmax will pay Dominion $27 million this month and another $40 million over the next two years, according to an SEC filing by Newsmax. The settlement was reached on August 15. “We are pleased to have settled this matter,” Newsmax said in a statement, though it stood by its coverage as “fair, balanced and conducted within professional standards of journalism.”
