As a part of the White House press pool, I crammed into a frigid van on Saturday morning, toward the back of President Trump’s motorcade en route to his Virginia golf course. We passed a grimy tent encampment on our way out of the city, and I wondered to myself whether Trump was peering out the window. My question seemed to be answered the following day. On Truth Social, the president posted pictures likely taken from the motorcade that morning or the next, as he returned for another round of golf. Alongside images of roadside tents and trash, Trump wrote, “We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House.

I've driven accidentally into the "wrong" part of DC....a couple of blocks off the Mall. And I can tell you, even 20 years ago, it was chilling to see the way the people looked at us as we drove by. Like hungry tigers in the zoo looking at fresh meat.
The problem with DC is the exact same problem in all big, US inner city areas - people who are violent, lawless and raised from birth to be criminals. Until the inner city people change, the only way to tamp this down is massive law enforcement effort and putting a LOT of them into prisons to protect us from them.

It's mostly DEMORAT inner cities, but yes every city has a few reprobates.
One of the problems is that the first tent to be set up need to be take n down that first day.
Lat it sit there overnight and next night there will be two and from then on it's Katie bar the door.

I commuted to a job in Alameda for a little over a year. I had to drive through part of Oakland to get there. I would drive by a tent city underneath an overpass. There was a fence, broken down around the area the tents were in. One day I drove by and all the tents were gone and the fence was repaired. I never saw another tent in that area. I don't know what happened to the campers, nor where they went, but even Oakland was able to address that problem.
It only takes will and intestinal fortitude. Too bad those are missing in most, if not all, DemoRoid run cities.

I grew up in what was, in the late 1950's and early 1960's, rural western Fairfax county, a farming community that has since been obliterated by housing developments, office parks and shopping centers.
Even then, most of 'Dee Cee' was a 'no-go zone' for white folks. This became much worse during the summer of 1968 with the 'MLK' riots, and I do not think it has improved since. Other than the 'tourist' areas around the Mall, Georgetown, and other parts of the northwest quadrant, for white folks the word was that it was safer to go around, rather than through, the other quadrants of the city.
I do not think this will change until the culture of the people living there changes.
A question for all the people who studied Sociology and related fields:
What percentage of the population is needed to be Thieves, Thugs and Murderers for an area to be generally thought of as Unsafe?

They just needed to get rid of Muriel Bowser about five years ago and, I'll say it, her black legions. When you hate whitey and you have ninety percent of the population, whitey doesn't have much of a chance.

It's not something that people want to say out loud but we know what demographic drives most of this. The left has caused too many blacks to feel entitled to do what they want because of past "oppression" and yes, there was certainly plenty of that in the past. The ones being oppressed now are the blacks victimized by other blacks...drive-by shootings and other murders, unbridled other crimes...robbery, carjacking, shoplifting etc etc. Certainly not all blacks but they are the true victims. Fatherless homes, domestic violence, abysmal schools, drugs, poor health etal.
Years ago, some friends and I were going to a Braves game in Atlanta, took a wrong turn near the stadium and found ourselves going toward the wrong area. Some blacks on the street corner, God bless them, got in the road and waved us off and pointed us back in the right direction. They knew what could happen to some white boys in the wrong place. There are plenty of decent, honest black people left but they need help and the Democrat Party would rather they continue to be used for their own malign purposes.
