A gunman is dead after opening fire at Georgia’s Emory University Friday afternoon, spraying bullets at a police cruiser and a nearby CDC headquarters building – leaving one officer injured, according to police and photos. The suspect died after the frightening shooting that prompted students to shelter in place on the last day of the summer term, according to the Atlanta Police Department. “There is no ongoing threat to the Emory Campus or the surrounding neighborhood,” police said in an updated alert on X around 6:45 p.m. “The incident involved a single shooter, who is now deceased. One law enforcement officer was injured in the course of the response.”

Actually injured by the mRNA shots (not a vaccine), or another nutcase looking for an excuse because he's nuts?

This explains all the police cars I saw going 120 MPH in the HOV lanes of I-85 south in DeKalb County around 5:15 - 5:30 today. Must have been 12-15 that I saw. Then, when visiting someone near the VA Hospital that is no more than 1.5 miles from Emory I was hearing a warning siren too.

As predicted, the Texas Democrat legislators who fled to blue states to deny a quorum for redistricting have folded. Still, I'm not sure anyone expected them to fold this soon. According to ABC News, the runaways who claimed to be saving "democracy" are heading back to their home state early, claiming to have accomplished their goal of raising "awareness" about gerrymandering. That's a very polite way of saying they failed miserably. ABC13 has confirmed with multiple sources that House Democrats will return to Texas. Eyewitness News has not confirmed the date, but we do know that Democrats believe they've accomplished their mission by killing
Getting Jimmy Kimmel to Self-Deport Might

Can you imagine what a victory it would be for all Americans if, merely through his successful leadership, President Trump were able to get the basement-rated Jimmy Kimmel to self-deport? We already have a partial victory based solely on the fact that the Late Night elitist is putting the pieces in place to make it happen. Former comedian Jimmy Kimmel was a guest on former comedienne Sarah Silverman’s podcast on Friday, and the two of them discussed fleeing the country due to Trump. “A lot of people I know are thinking about where are they going to get citizenship?” Silverman said. Kimmel then broke this glorious news: “I did get Italian citizenship.”

Is Moms for Liberty a "hate group" on the order of the KKK? The Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee thinks so. Not even the infamously anti-sanity NGO, the Southern Poverty Law Center, which never saw a conservative-leaning group it didn't despise, has gone so far as to label Moms for Liberty a hate group, although they do call them "extremist." When even the SPLC can't conjure up enough evidence to indict you as a hate group, your worst crime is loving puppies and kittens.

It's pretty generally acknowledged at this point that President Trump won the 2024 election with help from a lot of working-class voters who'd previously cast votes for Joe Biden. The Democratic theory about how they could return to power was that Democrats would drive Trump's numbers down with constant criticism and soon enough those voters would see the error of their ways and return to the Democrats. In short, Democrats were counting on a backlash to save them. But so far it's not happening. Trump's numbers have gone down but Democrats numbers haven't really gone up. The voters who left the party don't see a good reason to go back.

A U.S. appeals court on Tuesday rejected a bid by a group of unions to block the Trump administration government downsizing team known as the Department of Government Efficiency from accessing sensitive data on Americans. The Virginia-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in a 2-1 decision, opens new tab said the unions were unlikely to prevail on claims that DOGE would violate federal privacy laws by accessing data at the U.S. Department of Education, Treasury Department, and Office of Personnel Management.

Inflation increased in July and moved further away from the Federal Reserve's target rate as central bank policymakers assess the health of the economy amid the president's calls for interest rate cuts. The Bureau of Labor Statistics on Tuesday said that the consumer price index (CPI) – a broad measure of how much everyday goods like gasoline, groceries and rent cost – rose 0.2% in July compared with last month, while it was up 2.7% from a year ago. The monthly figure was in line with the estimate of economists polled by LSEG, while headline was slightly cooler than the 2.8% expected.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned allegations of famine in the Gaza Strip as the product of a “global campaign of lies” in a speech on Sunday, while defending his government’s plan to take military control of Gaza City. He also promised to “bring in more foreign journalists” to Gaza, who have not been permitted beyond military embeds in 22 months of the war between Israel and Hamas. Netanyahu rejected international allegations that, by denying the entry of aid into Gaza, the Israeli military has inflicted famine upon its population, turning attention toward Israeli hostages still being held by Hamas. “Despite Hamas’s obstacles, two million people

WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump highlighted examples of crimes against public officials and lawlessness in Navy Yard in southeast Washington, DC, over the weekend during his announcement that the federal government is taking control of the Metropolitan Police Department. Trump pointed to the recent assault of a former Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) staffer, the stabbing of an aide to Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), the gunpoint carjacking of Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-TX) in October 2023 in Navy Yard, and the killing of former Trump administration official Mike Gill, among other horrific examples.

President Donald Trump's decision to federalize the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) continues to cause mass consternation on the left. Despite the move being unquestionably allowed under the Home Rule Act of 1973, which deals with the nation's capital as a federal district, accusations of "fascism" and "democracy" being threatened have flowed like milk and honey. In other words, it's just another weekday. How did we get here? A series of high-profile murders and violent assaults caught the attention of the president. Instead of taking action immediately, the administration asked the Democrat-laden city council to repeal some of its ineffective, harmful "social justice" policies

The cost for Texas Democrats abandoning their seats just went up exponentially. State House Speaker Dustin Burrows has ordered that all direct deposits be stopped for any member absent for the express purpose of denying a quorum. That stops the money flow to those who fled to Illinois and other blue states to prevent the Republican super majority from redistricting the state. As RedState reported, this battle has been ongoing since early August. Gov. The vote was 19-2, with nine Democrats absent after exiting the Senate floor moments after the maps were taken up, a show of protest against what they framed as a "corrupt process."
