The star of "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" Dean Cain claims he has joined ICE and urges his followers to follow suit. On Tuesday, the actor took to social media to say he joined Immigration and Customs Enforcement in a one and a half minute video. The actor mentions the $50,000 sign in bonus and other benefits people can get when they join ICE, such as student loan "re-payment." Cain also touts that applicants don't need to have an undergraduate degree, urging people to join "right away."

Comments:

A nice little Public Service Announcement. Also, Homeland Security mentions age barriers have been removed for criminal investigators and deportation officers. No more caps on how old you can be.

If you think that is a lot of money, just think of the savings of a lifetime of welfare and medicaid for one person. This is a bargain for the taxpayer, and one heck of a job start for an unemployed healthy person.

Same as #5 and surely they will take me since I am even younger than him at 83. All joking aside, there are probably lots of men in their 50s...60s or even older who would make good, smart hires for the type of work that they are looking for.

I saw him being interviewed yesterday. He is the real deal. Those who insist on putting people down as being "Hollywood"- doing their own version of CBS snark - forget or disregard all the actors - male and female - who are or were real people. who did very important things. Ronald Reagan is the most obvious one but there are many others.

BTWm Cain was more than "Hollywood" before he did this. And he did do this. He is a law enforcement officer - police or sheriff- in Idaho. A real one. There is nothing pretend about this interesting guy.

He would be a great figurehead for the Border Patrol and ICE if they were to hire him, dress him in a Border Patrol uniform, and put him out there on TV supporting the Border Patrol and ICE.

Court orders UC system to rethink policy
against hiring undocumented students

The University of California is discriminating against students who are undocumented immigrants by refusing to hire most of them for campus jobs unless they have work authorization from the federal government, a state appeals court ruled Tuesday. UC offers employment to the small number of immigrants known as Deferred Access to Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. But the university has a longstanding policy of denying jobs to other undocumented migrants who lack federal work permits, saying it is unwilling to risk potentially costly legal actions by U.S. officials. On Tuesday, the court said UC’s policy “discriminates based on immigration status” and may violate California’s employment law.

The Office of Special Counsel has launched a formal investigation into Jack Smith, the first official legal probe into his conduct, The Post has learned. Smith is the justice department lawyer who oversaw two criminal investigations into President Donald Trump during the Biden administration, one into Trump’s handling of classified documents, the other as to whether his actions on Jan. 6th, 2021, were an attempt to overturn the 2020 election. Both cases were dismissed. The Hatch Act Unit, which enforces a law restricting government employees from engaging in political activities, has begun reviewing the former Special Counsel

A federal appeals court on Friday allowed President Trump to move forward with an order instructing a broad swath of government agencies to end collective bargaining with federal unions. The ruling authorizes a component of Mr. Trump’s sweeping effort to assert more control over the federal work force to move forward, for now, while the case plays out in court. The appeals court noted that the affected agencies had been directed to refrain from ending any collective bargaining agreement until “litigation has concluded,” but also noted that Mr. Trump was now free to follow through with the order at his discretion.

At least four tankers carrying Russian crude are idling off India’s western coast as mounting sanctions and warnings of steep U.S. tariffs disrupt oil flows, the Indian business outlet NDTV Profit reported. Two of the vessels, the Achilles and the Elyte, are anchored near the port of Jamnagar, which were both originally scheduled to arrive at the nearby Sikka terminal Thursday. The ships were loaded with crude at Russia’s export hubs and are subject to sanctions imposed by the E.U. and Britain. The delays come amid a significant shift in Indian purchasing behavior following threats from President Donald Trump, who has pledged 100% tariffs on countries that import Russian energy

Meanwhile, the Canadian dollar slumped to a 10-week low against its U.S. counterpart after the president announced a punishing 35 percent levy for the country.

The United States is suspending a "de minimis" exemption that allowed low-value commercial shipments to be shipped to the United States without facing tariffs, the White House said on Wednesday. Under an executive order signed by President Donald Trump, packages valued at or under $800 sent to the U.S. outside of the international postal network will now face "all applicable duties" starting on August 29. Goods shipped through the postal system will face one of two tariffs: either an "ad valorem duty" equal the effective tariff rate of the package's country origin, or, for six months, a tariff of $80 to $200 depending on the country of origin's tariff rate.

Boreing and Carlson were replaying an argument that has been on a loop ever since the Sixties: Was Truman’s decision to drop the bombs justified?
