French Prime Minister François Bayrou is criticizing the trade deal struck by President Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen as an act of “submission” by the European Union (EU).
“It is a dark day when an alliance of free peoples, united to affirm their values and defend their interests, resolves to submission,” Bayrou said in a post on social platform X early Monday. The agreement sets tariffs at 15 percent for European imports, including automobiles. That’s lower than the 30 percent tariff Trump had threatened to impose on the EU but higher than some European officials would have liked to see —

The political left will never recover from Trump Derangement Syndrome. President Donald Trump could put the economy on a perpetual growth path, stop World War III, bring permanent peace to the Middle East, resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict and in his spare time cure cancer and put a man on Mars, and the Democrats and progressives would still blindly hate him. Would the Republicans and conservatives who have battered and cursed him since 2015 continue to bitterly disapprove of him, as well?
Trump has had an extraordinary run so far. An AI analysis by Newsweek says the first six months of Trump’s second term “have been the most

The United Kingdom will recognize a Palestinian state if Israel does not agree to a ceasefire and move toward peace in Gaza by September, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned Tuesday.
Starmer made the announcement during a press conference on Tuesday, just a day after meeting with President Donald Trump in Scotland and discussing the Israel-Hamas war and the hunger crisis in Gaza.
"I can confirm that the U.K. will recognize the State of Palestine by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in September, unless

CNN’s Erin Burnett is being skewered for reporting that the gunman who opened fire in a Midtown skyscraper — killing an NYPD cop and three others — was “possibly white” after viewing the initial security footage released immediately after Shane Tamura’s deadly rampage. In the photos first shared online, Tamura, 27, was captured in broad daylight walking into 345 Park Ave. with a Palmetto State Armory AR-15 rifle in his hand. Burnett said police knew the gunman had “sunglasses, mustache, male, possibly white” during a broadcast shortly after the shooting Monday evening.

Democratic nominee for mayor Zohran Mamdani addressed the mass shooting at a Park Avenue office building while at his family’s private compound in Uganda, where he is celebrating his wedding. “I’m heartbroken to learn of the horrific shooting in midtown and I am holding the victims, their families, and the NYPD officer in critical condition in my thoughts,” Mamdani wrote in a post to X. (Snip) Mamdani is in Uganda celebrating his nuptials at a heavily guarded private compound in the wealthy Buziga Hill area outside the capital city, Kampala. As President Donald Trump marks six months into his second term — celebrating triumphs like ending numerous wars, slashing job-killing regulations, making tax cuts permanent, and signing over 140 executive orders to revive America's energy independence and economy — one persistent swamp creature threatens to derail it all.
In the depths of the “Washington swamp,” few figures embody the betrayal of true conservative values like Senator Lindsey Graham. Once a vocal critic of Donald Trump, Graham flipped like a pancake after the MAGA-leader took over the Oval office — raising eyebrows and fueling theories that he's been “activated” by shadowy forces.

The Donald Trump-Russia collusion scandal that first broke in December 2016 and roared on until April 2019 has no parallel in our history — it’s not even close.
As president-elect and later as sitting president, Trump was accused by the country’s intelligence and law-enforcement apparatus of conspiring with a hostile power to subvert the 2016 election and sneak a crooked path to the White House.
Along the way, a damning Intelligence Community Assessment was issued, a major FBI investigation, code-named Crossfire Hurricane, targeted the president, and a special counsel, Robert Mueller, was granted a team of prosecutors and a budget of millions to bring the guilty to justice.

The Trump administration on Tuesday proposed repealing the federal government’s bedrock scientific declaration on the dangers of greenhouse gases — a move that would run afoul of decades of research and topple most of the Environmental Protection Agency’s climate regulations.
The rollback is the most audacious attempt yet by President Donald Trump to undo federal restrictions on fossil fuels. The so-called endangerment finding, which the Obama administration issued in 2009

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) is a barrel of laughs. She’s feisty and doesn’t take any crap from the GOP. She’s perfectly willing to allow her detractors to view her as mentally ill. She’s ready to deliver haymakers—the problem is that her trainer is trash. The Atlantic did a lengthy profile piece on the Democratic congresswoman, some of which is run-of-the-mill Americana: she was educated privately, reportedly subjected to racism in college, got interested in the law because of those incidents, and went about building her profile by defending Black Lives Matter defendants. She had a brief stint in the Texas legislature before sharking her way up to Congress.

The gunman who killed four people before turning the gun on himself, identified as 27-year-old Shane Tamura, was trying to target the National Football League headquarters, NYC Mayor Eric Adams said Tuesday. Investigators believe Tamura mistakenly took the wrong elevator, leading him to Rudin Management instead, Adams told NewsNation local affiliate WPIX. Tamura reportedly had a three-page suicide note inside his pocket, which claimed he had a brain injury from a contact sport and blamed the NFL. Tamura, who played high school football, reportedly wanted his brain studied after his death. An official motive has not yet been released.

Israel is blaming the UN for the lack of vital food deliveries to Gaza — as harrowing video captured hundreds of desperate Palestinians swarming aid trucks over the weekend.
Israel officials are hitting back at claims that they have delayed aid from coming into Gaza — sharing images of tons of aid piled up inside the Gaza Strip, which they said is just waiting to be delivered to hungry Palestinians.
Col. Abdullah Halabi, from the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), told reporters last week that around 1,000 truckloads of aid remain undelivered “due to a lack of cooperation from the international community and international organizations.”

If you thought you’d seen theatrics in the United States Senate before, buckle up. Cory Booker, ever the drama king (queen?) from New Jersey, turned what should have been a routine discussion over a police funding bill into a one-man Broadway show, complete with finger-pointing at his own party and impassioned diatribes about the imminent descent of the country into authoritarian chaos. That’s right, one of the Senate’s most reliably emotional voices managed to deliver another performance that all but confirmed the absence of meaningful leadership and unity among Democrats.
Booker’s tirade began with a familiar refrain:

It will also show that the FBI was covering Hillary's dirty work. It'pretty clear the goals were the same.
