Pushing Back Against the Big Medicaid Lie

Democrats were virtually salivating as they unanimously voted against Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill two weeks ago, which certainly should give pause to Republicans as they prepare for the midterms and the 2028 elections beyond. What gives the Democrats hope that they can campaign effectively against Trump’s mega-bill? Is it the fact that Republicans were able to make permanent the 2017 tax cuts? Are they planning to campaign against the “no tax on tips” provision that even Kamala Harris supported? Will they claim that funding border security and mass deportation of illegal aliens is somehow bad for the country? No, no, and no.

I'm not bothered in the slightest by able bodied folks who refuse to work not getting free government ANYTHING, including health care. If you want something.....WORK FOR IT. If you refuse to work, you should starve.

When they had the Medicaid expansion in Louisiana my primary care physician partnered with private equity to build a beautiful office building with all kind of cutting edge technology including an X Ray machine. If I had a cold and went with private pay /private insurance I would pay a 50 dollar copay, the Dr would listen to my chest, write a couple of prescriptions and send me on my way. If a Medicaid patient went he would see the Dr who would order X-rays, blood work and a follow up appointment in a week to do it all over again. Private Equity set these Dr offices up to do nothing but harvest federal dollars. The course we are on is not sustainable, when all is said and done the only thing that’s going to be cut is non-essential procedures, especially blood work and X-ray’s

Jamie Sanchez has felt a calling to serve the homeless ever since he was a child. But he never imagined that following that calling would lead to him being labeled a bigot."It was really strange, actually, because we all of a sudden started getting like messages on Instagram about how we hate gay people and just like random comments like that," Sanchez told Fox News Digital. "And come to find out there was like an organized group ready to protest the opening of our café before we even open. We did some digging, and we found out it was strictly because we were Christian."

s the Fed chairman, Jay Powell, going to make it through the weekend? There is talk that he is being forced to resign. President Trump, of course, is on his case daily for not dropping interest rates in line with low inflation. Just a few moments ago, the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency that regulates Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and oversees the 11 federal home loan banks, William Pulte, issued a statement, saying: “I’m encouraged by reports that Jerome Powell is considering resigning. I think this will be the right decision for America, and the economy will boom.”

When Salena Zito arrived at Donald Trump’s campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, 2024, she was hoping to interview the then-presidential candidate after the main event. She has a long history of speaking to Trump; his number is saved on her phone. But this time, she got a text from White House chief of staff Susie Wiles. “President Trump thinks that five minutes after the rally is too short for an interview,” wrote his campaign manager. “He would really like it if you and your photographers would fly from Butler to Bedminster so you could do a full interview.”

Anyone who has perambulated through the groves of academe has encountered dumb smart people. They are clever, intellectually nimble, but they lack what Aristotle called φρόνησις and what the rest of us call “street smarts” or “practical wisdom.” In academia, dumb smart people often appear to be merely quaint or eccentric. In the realm of politics, they appear first as an exciting novelty, then as a destructive if naive force, cynically manipulated by the very people they hoped to replace. In 1992, the billionaire Ross Perot epitomized the dumb smart political actor when he ran as an Independent candidate against George H. W. Bush and Bill Clinton.

The least diplomatic president in US history is scoring diplomatic victories. Over the last couple of days, Donald Trump has gotten NATO to agree to a defense spending target of 5%, and backed Canada off imposing a digital-services tax on American tech firms. He’s done this while being loathed by many of his foreign interlocutors. In fact, Trump has executed a near-complete inversion of the typical diplomatic formula. He’s not nice. He’s not conflict-averse. He’s not euphemistic. And yet he’s gotten results.
Why NYC's Zohran Mamdani looks more and

Zohran Mamdani was officially certified as the winner of the June 24 New York City Democratic mayoral primary on Tuesday. He defeated former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo on his way to a victory that is still sending shockwaves through the Democratic Party establishment and beyond. Now, the debate rages over who Mamdani really is. Is he antisemitic or just pro-Palestinian? Is he anti-ICE or just pro-immigrant? However, one thing seems to be increasingly clear. Mamdani is a serious Marxist and that should concern anyone in New York City.

Iran's top Shiite cleric issued a religious decree against President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday, an act some experts called an incitement to terrorism. The fatwa from Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi called on Muslims around the world to take a stand, according to the New York Sun. It states that any individual or government that challenges or endangers the leadership and unity of the global Islamic community (the Ummah) is to be regarded as a "warlord" or a "mohareb," defined as someone who wages war against God. Under Iranian law, those identified as mohareb can face execution, crucifixion, limb amputation, or exile.

A Florida-based diver thought he was doing the right thing when he freed a group of sharks—but instead, it led to a felony charge and, years later, a presidential pardon from Donald Trump. On May 28, Tanner Mansell and John Moore Jr. were two of the sixteen recipients of Trump’s full pardons after the pair were convicted in 2020 of theft of property within special maritime jurisdiction. Mansell, 31, of Jupiter, Fla., reflected on the fateful day leading to his conviction and the eventual unexpected pardon from the White House.

What an impressive sight it was Sunday, when the futuristic B-2 stealth bombers sliced through the powder-blue Missouri sky on their triumphant return to home base in the American heartland after dropping their Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs on Iran’s underground nuclear sites. The strikes were “a spectacular military success,” President Trump told the world Saturday night, after emerging from the Situation Room. “Iran’s key nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely and totally obliterated. Iran, the bully of the Middle East, must now make peace,” he said.

If I were Bibi Netanyahu, I would buy every single one of them a plane ticket and wave goodbye as they took their free trip to Paris. If I were a Gazan, I would accept that free ticket and get on the first plane, hoping that the free room and board will allow me to enjoy my time there. The decision is absurd, of course, but perfectly consistent with the law. France’s top asylum court has ruled that all Palestinians

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with plans to carry out mass layoffs at the Department of Education that were blocked by a federal judge. The conservative-majority court, without any explanation, granted an emergency application from the administration that blocks the federal judge's ruling. The court's three liberal members objected, with Justice Sonia Sotomayor writing a blistering dissenting opinion. "When the Executive publicly announces its intent to break the law, and then executes on that promise, it is the Judiciary’s duty to check that lawlessness, not expedite it," she wrote.

Uh oh. Democrat swamp rat Jamie Raskin has jumped on the Epstein conspiracy bandwagon, demanding AG Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel and his deputy Dan Bongino testify to Congress about the so-called Epstein files. After five days of escalating hysteria and chest-beating, including ultimatums to the president to “fire Blondi,” MAGA “influencers” have found themselves on the same side as Raskin, which, needless to say, is the wrong side. While the whole episode has been handled clumsily by the Trump officials, it is not so difficult to believe that FBI vaults have been scrubbed of meaningful Jeffrey Epstein conspiracy information or never had any,

Fateh (D), who once accused Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) of white supremacy for opposing taxpayer-funded college for illegal aliens, is running for mayor of Minneapolis. He has advanced far-left legislation, including a proposal to provide free college tuition to households earning under $80,000 a year, regardless of their documentation status, which he defended as necessary to expand opportunities for “all Minnesotans.”

I pictured the $20,000 Pyramid with Dick Clark hosting a special episode: "The Deranged-Lefty Edition." The contestants? Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Adam Schiff. Schiff reads clues in the category of "Truly Horrifying Things." Schiff: “Maggots in food. Heatstroke. Tents with raw sewage. Frogs in bedding.” Debbie: “Toilets!” Wrong. Schiff: “Mosquitos the size of drones. Babies sleeping on the floor. Rat chewing on wires. Overflowing trash. Broken showers.” Debbie: “People using toilets?” Wrong. Schiff: “No AC. No lawyers. No translators. Just broken fans and barbed wire.” Debbie: “Gendered bathrooms!” Wrong again. Some Democrats visited Alligator Alcatraz

We’ve noted before that today’s Democrats are operating with a mental deficit. A new poll further confirms they are a broken people. While it’s good for a cheap laugh, because they are often smug, condescending and hateful to those who disagree with them, their fragile psychological state poses a threat to the republic. A Rasmussen poll released Monday found that 60% of Democratic voters still believe “the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.” As disturbing as that is, 69% of those who self-identify as “liberals” believe Donald Trump conspired with Moscow to beat Hillary Clinton.

Per the outlet, Biden approved standards to give out categorical pardons to criminals in his final months in office, but staff ultimately ran a final list of names that supposedly met the criteria through the autopen,
