The unusual construction project in northeast Minneapolis in 2020 was billed by city officials as an environmental win. Newly built rain gardens in the Hoyer Heights neighborhood would help prevent flooding and filter out pollutants — including phosphorus, one of the main culprits behind the increasingly common toxic algae blooms on city lakes, according to the city. (snip) But a 2021 study conducted by the city and the University of Minnesota, and recently shared with the Minnesota Star Tribune, suggests the new rain gardens are likely making the city’s phosphorus problem worse.

The idea of green spaces do help with storm water runoff but then they added phosphorus and other things they are trying to reduce. Surprise, now the runoff includes more of these additives. How stupid can they get?

Politicians are gullible. They are mostly lawyers with little practical expeiences. Give 'em a good dog and pony show and they will fork over the cash for all types of nonsense. Their egos rarely allow any acknowledgement of their errors and they will continue to fund their mistakes.

Rain gardens is a fancy name for intentionally planting the right plants where water runs off and settles. Done right, it can help to filter water run off. Probably what happened, government money went to some democrat donor who made a tidy profit while half-assing the job.

It's a good idea if designed and built correctly but apparently Minneapolis botched it. There are swimming pool systems that are cleaned and purified by circulating the water through a parallel pool full of cleansing water plants, thus eliminating the need for chlorine and most other chemicals. Little Mogadishu has greater problems than phosphorus.

Iran apparently had not adjusted to its new 2025 status—or maybe it had. Most of its bought terrorists are currently either destroyed or anemic. There is no more ascendant Iranian “Shia crescent” in the Middle East. Russia is no longer a Middle East power, patron, and protector. The Assad dynasty imploded, flipping Syria from an Iranian proxy into a likely Iranian enemy. Hezbollah, once supposedly the most fearsome of all the Iranian terrorist tentacles, was humiliated and neutered by a series of surreal Israeli operations.

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Monday allowed the Trump administration to move ahead with plans to carry out mass layoffs at the Department of Education that were blocked by a federal judge. The conservative-majority court, without any explanation, granted an emergency application from the administration that blocks the federal judge's ruling. The court's three liberal members objected, with Justice Sonia Sotomayor writing a blistering dissenting opinion. "When the Executive publicly announces its intent to break the law, and then executes on that promise, it is the Judiciary’s duty to check that lawlessness, not expedite it," she wrote.

Schiff: “Mosquitos the size of drones. Babies sleeping on the floor. Rat chewing on wires. Overflowing trash. Broken showers.” Debbie: “People using toilets?” Wrong. Schiff: “No AC. No lawyers.
