Police have arrested almost 30 people on suspicion of terrorism offences after protesters gathered in Parliament Square holding signs supporting Palestine Action, just hours after a ban on the came into effect. Around two dozen people, including a priest, professor and an emergency care worker who is just back from Gaza, sat in front of the Gandhi statue in Parliament Square on Saturday expressing support for the group, which is now a proscribed terrorist organisation.

Comments:

Isn't this wonderful? I'll wager the MET is thrilled to finally have their hands untied. Now if only NY, California, Oregon, Washington, and so forth, would do likewise.

Fine them heavily and then deport them back to the rat hole they came from.

OK, arrested. Will they be actually imprisoned? Somehow, I expect them to slide out the back door of the police station with a 5 pound fine.

A terrorism arrest for holding a sign? Imagine how a similar law would have been applied by the Biden Administration. Thank God the First Amendment explicitly prohibits the U.S. Congress from passing any similar law.

All the " protests " around the world are funded by the same people. The "protester" are paid, some as much as $90,000 a year if you're leader.

Along the lines of #3, how deep has England sunk itself if the only way back out is to start banning special interest groups - like them or not?

The Brits don't really believe in free speech in the same way that Americans do. The protesters aren't very bright (notice how unoriginal their signs are) but they're not hurting anything. Kind of a waste to arrest them and give them martyr status. And as an earlier poster said, I doubt they'll get much of a punishment (if any).

Very interesting...since it's the Daily Mail from England...one cannot be convinced it's accurate in it's presentation...the protesters were sitting at a statute of Gandhi...no screaming and pushing or blocking traffic?....if the newspaper has it right...which I seriously doubt...that's no reason to arrest them...something isn't right with this report....I won't wait for an explanation from the Daily Mail as to it's accuracy...but then...what's new....the media is the fake media no matter where you go....

You would think after all the protester arrests the jails would be full. The truth is they’re mostly all back on the streets with little or no consequences. Nice PR though for the tough talkers in the Trump Administration.

He was a participant in a recent Zoom videocall with several other people. The conversation evidently didn’t interest him. He pulled his pants down and found something that did. A lot. The object of Toobin’s intense interest proved less interesting to the other participants on the videocall. The New Yorker has suspended him. Which surely is a violation of some sort of special protection to which he’s entitled.

Upon walking out the doors of the hospital, he made a low fist pump and gave a thumbs up to the press as he got into a black SUV to head to Marine One.

Weeks, possibly months, of enforced home-dwelling stretch ahead of us. For some, this may seem a wonderful opportunity to enjoy cosy family time — heart-to-heart chats, cupcake-making, board games...But for many, especially those who live alone, it’s a terrifying prospect to have no contact with the outside world. My mother is 87 and lives 100 miles away in sheltered accommodation. My brother is nearby and visits weekly, but still I worry that she might become isolated. Yet I don’t feel I can take my kids up to see her for fear of putting her in danger.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign for president was doomed from the get-go. Not only did he jump into the race later than the other 2020 Democratic candidates, but his campaign decided to skip the Iowa Caucuses, New Hampshire Primary, Nevada Caucuses and South Carolina Primary. Instead, Bloomberg's team made a conscious decision to focus on Super Tuesday, the day when the most delegates were up for grabs. Despite spending more than $500 million dollars on an aggressive ad campaign, the mayor's results were abysmal. He won American Samoa, which garnered a whopping five delegates. The remaining delegate from the territory went to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI).

He may have been right, but Bloomberg was dead wrong in the way he tried to improve his odds.

That’s why my long-ago high school classmates (99% of whom are leftists), suddenly started posting a variation of a meme insisting that Leviticus—a part of the Bible that is so dear to conservative hearts—mandates accepting illegal aliens. Naturally, these leftists, who wouldn’t recognize the Bible if it bit them, are completely wrong. The most popular version of this meme, the one with almost 6 million views, came from Devin Duke:
