Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., became the first U.S. senator to test positive for the coronavirus Sunday and will remain in quarantine, his staff announced. The senator entered into quarantine in Kentucky and was continuing to work, while staffers in Paul’s Washington, D.C., office have been working remotely for the past 10 days, Fox News has learned. A spokesman for Paul confirmed that the senator had been at the Senate gym Sunday morning before learning of his diagnosis and leaving for Kentucky; Sen. Jerry Moran of Kansas said he saw Paul at the gym and kept a safe distance.

Comments:

I think this is very serious because as a result of the attack he sustained (at the hands of his Democrat neighbor), iirc, Senator Rand's lungs were damaged, which is one of the most dangerous pre-existing conditions for those who contract the coronavirus.

OP is right. I believe that Senator Paul subsequently had to have part of one of his lungs removed.

Saying prayers for Rand Paul. He is one of the few who are always looking out for rights of the citizens...something that is badly needed right now.

Let's hope his will be OK. Sen. Paul is a real headache a lot of the time, but a gem some of the time. I certainly don't wish any problems on him.

Does anyone know the rate of false positives? We keep hearing/reading about people who are asymptomatic who test positive. I am just wondering how accurate the tests are.

OP,#1- Yes, Senator Paul was assaulted by a neighbor in November 2017 that resulted in five broken ribs, with three being displaced factures. In August 2019, part of Senator Paul’s lung required removal due to the injuries he suffered during the attack. Prayers are most welcome and appropriate.

Weeks, possibly months, of enforced home-dwelling stretch ahead of us. For some, this may seem a wonderful opportunity to enjoy cosy family time — heart-to-heart chats, cupcake-making, board games...But for many, especially those who live alone, it’s a terrifying prospect to have no contact with the outside world. My mother is 87 and lives 100 miles away in sheltered accommodation. My brother is nearby and visits weekly, but still I worry that she might become isolated. Yet I don’t feel I can take my kids up to see her for fear of putting her in danger.

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's campaign for president was doomed from the get-go. Not only did he jump into the race later than the other 2020 Democratic candidates, but his campaign decided to skip the Iowa Caucuses, New Hampshire Primary, Nevada Caucuses and South Carolina Primary. Instead, Bloomberg's team made a conscious decision to focus on Super Tuesday, the day when the most delegates were up for grabs. Despite spending more than $500 million dollars on an aggressive ad campaign, the mayor's results were abysmal. He won American Samoa, which garnered a whopping five delegates. The remaining delegate from the territory went to Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI).

Michael Bloomberg’s presidential campaign isn’t going as planned. He was a piñata in his first two debates and his decision to skip the four early states looks dicey as polls show him trailing in crucial Super Tuesday contests. Some of these headwinds were predictable, which is why Bloomberg hesitated to join the race. Until the moment he started running, he was telling friends there was no place for him in the Democratic Party. He may have been right, but Bloomberg was dead wrong in the way he tried to improve his odds.

As we reported two days ago, Joe Biden completely made no sense when he was trying to explain the Wuhan coronavirus relief bill. It was really bad and it explains why they’re afraid to have him deliver an address to Congress or do any kind of a real solo press conference, because at this point they have to be afraid this is all going to fall apart if he does anything live and this all becomes too obvious to the American people. But there’s only so long that they can hold this off. And it’s getting worse, as video today revealed. Biden was holding an event to announce the nomination

I’m probably second to none in my dislike for Meghan Markle. There’s something unattractive about a mature woman marrying into the British Royal family with one of the world’s most expensive weddings, hanging out with the Queen, living in insane luxury…and then whining non-stop about the horror of her life. There’s something even less appealing when that woman accuses the Royal family of race hatred. And the problem is that, when it comes to that left-wing diva, Meghan Markle, it’s hard to believe most of what she says. After weeks of hype, CBS finally televised Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah.
