I was chased out of MIT — and it was

Before Oct. 7, 2023, I was the literal poster boy for a PhD student at MIT. I was featured in a July 2023 profile in MIT News, which relayed my background and aspirations. “Although he has just two years of graduate school under his belt,” it said, “Sussman is considering a career in academia.” That career is no longer available to me. In January, I left MIT because of the antisemitism I experienced on campus. Now I’m suing the university.

Comments:

Outrageous that he was treated this way at a top U.S. university

I hope Sussman wins bigly and this is yet another ding to the (once deserved, but) now completely deconstructed reputations of northeast liberal universities. They no longer any sort of elevated status as the pinnacles of academia that they once had. MIT's heyday was arguably during the WWII era with it's "Radiation Lab"... today, MIT is barely involved in electromagnetics compared to other prominent engineering schools located elsewhere in the country. Let it rot... and be sued penniless.

I dont know this guy but quite a few of the academics I know are insufferable jerks, lording their intellectual "superiority" over the rest of us. This from the article... “I think it’s important to demonstrate Jewish culture at a time when antisemitism is on the rise.” I dont want Jewish pushed down my throat any more than I want Moslem, Christian, gay or trannie pushed down my throat. Be whoever you want to be, but leave me out of it.

Trump’s Council of Economic Advisers noted that the bill “delivers on President Trump’s promise of No Tax on Social Security,” providing the “largest tax break in American history for our nation’s seniors.” “The One Big Beautiful Bill provides a new bonus deduction of $6,000 for seniors age 65 and older ($12,000 for married seniors) beginning in 2025,” the overview explained, noting the provision, which does not wipe out taxes on Social Security, would be in addition to current standard deductions.

He was willing to set fire to all of that, all of President Trump and the GOP’s top domestic action items over Ukraine war funding. I’m not kidding...He voted and then disappeared for the remainder of Wednesday night. In the end, the four other ‘no’ votes—Reps. One year from now, you will not be able to turn around without receiving notice of America’s semiquincentennial jubilee. The jollity of the occasion will not change the fact that it will be seven years premature. The historical significance assigned to July 4, 1776, the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the Second Continental Congress, is befuddling. Without victory in the Revolutionary War, which began over a year earlier, any declarations regarding American independence made during the summer of 1776 would have the same significance today as the “declarations of independence” made by the 11 Confederate States in 1860-61.

It's a sad fact of life and an awful commentary on our broken culture that churches need to have armed security guards. But thank God that several men at CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne, Mich., were armed and trained to respond to an attack. Their training and skills were put to the ultimate test on June 22, when Brian Anthony Browning, who was heavily armed and dressed in tactical gear, tried to enter the church. Their brave actions likely prevented the mass slaughter of Christians who were at the church that day to celebrate their annual Vacation Bible School program.
