Twenty-four House Democrats have called on the Trump administration to close down “Alligator Alcatraz,” a brand-new illegal alien detention facility built in the Florida Everglades.
Led by Democratic Reps. Janelle Bynum (OR) and Maxwell Frost (FL), the House Democrats demanded that Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Todd Lyons shut the facility down.
In the letter, the lawmakers called the facility an “inhumane stunt.”
“This remote swamp is notorious for oppressive heat, relentless humidity, severe storms, and perilous terrain infested with venomous snakes, disease-carrying insects, and large predatory wildlife, including alligators and crocodiles,” they wrote.

Maybe they’ll self deport and save everyone time and tax dollars.

All those who are "flipping out" about it need to be forced to house 5 illegal aliens in their own homes for a couple of months.

It should make them homesick, as its exactly like the $#!t hole countries from whence they came. Except for beds, Air conditioning, and three meals a day they will receive

It's air conditioned. Three meals a day. Bed with mattress. Wildlife not allowed in. So don't venture out, just stay inside and you'll be safe from the elements. Think of how many people don't have three squares, don't have a mattress or bed, endure heat minus A/C. Those who don't self-deport but elect for a stopover here have it pretty good.

Heat humidity, gators, snakes, storms, insects and disease. Like that's some big deal. They are describing South Louisiana. If it's good enough for us legals, it's good enough for illegals. The children need to get out of their day cribs every now and then and see how we live in the really real world.

Don’t like the illegals going there! Then tell them to leave this country.
I think anyone who supports illegals and open borders should remove their front and back doors on their houses. Or shut up!

Sorry Dems. There are no crocodiles in North America, only alligators. And why are Dems so sympathetic to criminals? Please explain it to me. Would they rather have them in a Turkish prison or in any prison in Latin America? I know—not at all! The illegals have it good here in Alligator Alcatraz. The beds have mattresses!

I guess they are unaware of the “genteel” accommodations that Sheriff Joe Arpaio provided in Arizona.

Dims, perhaps you should spend a night or two at Club Allialcatraz and try it out for size. Then you can appreciate the wonderful stay the illegals will have prior to deportation.

Didn[t someone - DeSantis? - say that they are offered the ability to self-deport before they enter? Dems didn't hear that?

“..impossible for family members to visit detained loved ones, legal counsel to meet with their clients and elected officials to provide oversight of the encampment “. That’s exactly the idea!

"This remote swamp is notorious for oppressive heat, relentless humidity, severe storms, and perilous terrain infested with venomous snakes, disease-carrying insects, and large predatory wildlife, including alligators and crocodiles". The Democrats complaints sound like they are describing most of Southern Florida, parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and other southern states. Also sounds like a lot of Central & South America where the illegals came from. By liberal elite standards, this description is horrifying. A town without a Starbucks is considered third world to them. The people flocking to the south, escaping from liberal northern states don't seem to mind this description.

Yeah......it's called Florida and describes SE Georgia too. And 23 million of us call it home.
You don't have to be IN the Everglades to experience Alligators, pythons, poisonous snakes, biting insects, heat, humidity or storms. I can just step out my front door to experience every bit of that.

They are angry because it will work. Good ability to keep them locked up, quick 'due process' hearing and then a 50 yard walk out to the deportation aircraft.

A few salt water crocs in SE Fla, in the swamps near the south end of Biscayne Bay. Not sure that they are all over the 'Glades.
