Now, its political instincts are in question. The New Jersey Education Association made its largest investment in a campaign to support its president, Sean Spiller, in his longshot bid for the governor’s mansion. An armed individual or individuals is currently shooting at first responders at the scene of an ongoing brush fire near Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, likely killing two first responders, according to officials. The ambush took place as fire crews were responding to a brush fire on Canfield Mountain. Two died as a result of the shooting, Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris said at a Sunday afternoon press briefing. The official said he believed but hadn’t been able to fully confirm the deceased are firefighters. No police officers have been hit in the shooting so far, he said, though first responders continue to take active “sniper fire”

D. Wayne Lukas, the Hall of Famer who became one of the most accomplished trainers in the history of horse racing and a face of the sport for decades, has died. He was 89. His family said Sunday that Lukas died Saturday night at his home in Louisville, Kentucky. Lukas had been hospitalized with a severe MRSA blood infection that caused significant damage to his heart and digestive system and worsened preexisting chronic conditions.

In less than two weeks, Trump has shown that his impact on American history has centered on his persuasive powers and using them to execute leadership. While elites struggle to understand the appeal of Trump and conservative populism, what they miss, what they have always missed, is the nuance of what “Make America Great Again” meant to voters. The media saw it as a vulgar attempt at nationalism, often brazenly calling it so. But it never was.

Woe to the Democrat Party. The once unified Democrat Party has fractured. They lost the 2024 election by a landslide. They even lost the popular vote, only the second time since 1988. The majority of men have taken their vote to the Republican Party. Hispanics now vote GOP, and Blacks?...they have split wide open, no longer a reliable Dem vote. Of the 14 states that do not require voter ID, Harris won 12 of them. Trump lost Colorado, but they say they require ID but don't require a photo ID. Pretty thin accomplishment.

President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” cleared a key procedural hurdle in the U.S. Senate late Saturday night, pushing the massive spending package one step closer to the president’s desk. The vote on a motion to proceed to final debate on the bill passed with 51 yeas and 49 nays. Every Democrat and two Republicans, Sens. Thom Tillis, N.C., and Rand Paul, Ky., voted against it.
