Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black and Milk star Sean Penn criticized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth for ordering the United States Navy to remove the name of slain gay rights leader Harvey Milk from oiler ship USNS Harvey Milk. Black and Penn won Academy Award for their work in the 2008 film Milk, and both criticized Hegseth for ordering the removal of Harvey Milk’s name from the ship, describing him as not seeming “like a smart man, a wise man” or knowledgeable, according to the Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve never before seen a Secretary of Defense so aggressively demote himself to the rank of Chief PETTY Officer,” Penn said in an e-mail to the outlet.

I told you all that I would write Monday’s newsletter at the end of Monday, Paris time, after I had been out in Chartres for the end of the pilgrimage. (Snip)I cannot remember the last time I wrote a story that made me so happy. I knew that I would like it in principle — young Catholics walking three days from Paris to Chartres, singing and praying all the way — but I had no real idea what to expect. After spending just two hours mingling with the crowd at the start of the event, I can tell you that I came away feeling more hopeful about things than I have

Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters arrived in downtown Los Angeles amid the violent anti-ICE protests on Sunday to stir up trouble. Maxine Waters fanned the flames and taunted National Guard troops who were called in to quell the riots. President Trump sent 2,000 troops to downtown Los Angeles on Saturday after California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom refused to act. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced he will mobilize Active Duty Marines from Camp Pendleton in northern San Diego to stop the violence. On Sunday it was revealed elements of the 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team from the California National Guard was deployed to downtown Los Angeles.

Mad Maxine Waters attended the riots Sunday in Los Angeles to show her support for the lawless protesters, illegal aliens, and violent leftists. At one point Maxine Waters attempted to barge into the the Los Angeles Federal Building to check on arrested SEIU President David Huerta. Despite her “congressional authority,” she was denied entry. Maxine tried to grab the door before it closed. The officers stationed outside the building slammed the door in her face… After she said she was using her Congressional authority to enter. It was a rough day for Mad Maxine. Stu, who captured the video, posted this as a follow-up.

Tony Moon’s Twitter account was likely going off the rails yesterday. Everyone who remembers the 1992 LA riots and the ‘Rooftop Koreans’ was either mentioning him or making references, leading to others tagging him in their threads. Moon is one of the original rooftop Koreans who grabbed their guns and took defensive positions atop their businesses as hordes of rioters descended upon them. It’s a classic American tale: invoking one’s Second Amendment rights to defend themselves and their property when law and order are absent, and the police cannot be relied on amid the chaos.
Newsom Blames Trump for L.A. Insurrection replies

Don't blame Gavin Newsom for the violent L.A. ICE "protests." He's only the governor of California presiding over the chaos he helped cause by running a proudly "sanctuary state"--forcing taxpayers to pay for all manner of support for illegal aliens—while presiding over open air drug use, "homelessness," and "insurrection." He's supported and endorsed the people running these protests (see my story nearby). Newsom would like you to believe, however, that it's President Donald Trump's fault that these bullhorn-spewing, pre-produced-sign-waving "protesters" have become violent. Indeed, these agents provocateur hope that the rabble take the bait and cause more pain. That’s Trump’s fault, naturally.

We've covered the insanity in Los Angeles over the past two days. But that's not the only place where anti-ICE radicals are getting out of hand. It was crazy in New York City on Saturday as well, where a mob of about 150 people tried to stop ICE outside of the U.S. Immigration Court. Things got violent there, and now the Trump administration has called out the National Guard to help quell the anti-ICE rioting that has been going on. California Gov. Gavin Newsom threw a tantrum over it. Meanwhile,

As you’re probably aware, illegal aliens, communists, Antifa foot soldiers, and other agents of Marxism, Islam, and chaos, went to war against federal law enforcement officers rounding up illegal aliens in Los Angeles (estimated to be 10% of Los Angeles County’s population, although I suspect that estimate is very, very low). There’s a lot to say about all this, including the notable fact that the people who were setting fires and throwing projectiles waved Mexican and “Palestinian” flags, and were funded by socialist NGOs, but I actually want to focus specifically on California’s governor, Gavin Newsom.

The left threw violent anti-immigration protests in seven different areas of Los Angeles beginning on Friday, and you’ll never guess who paid for it. If you guessed "you," you are right. Not only are taxpayers paying for the initial ICE raids, which netted 44 illegal aliens, but we’re paying for the police, sheriff's deputies, enhanced California Highway Patrol, and the federal response to the violent protests against the ICE raids, too. But that's only the half of it. Most Americans are only too willing to pay for law enforcement, but it turns out that you’re also paying for the L.A. immigration protesters,

We’ve seen the playbook so many times: Democrats accuse conservatives of fomenting violence, white supremacist action, and “insurrection.” While actual examples of the “right-wing” brutality that they endlessly scream about are few and far between, they stay quite busy in the meantime promoting their own domestic terrorism in the form of the devastating urban destruction during the George Floyd-BLM riots of 2020, the antisemitic demonstrations on college campuses that started in 2023, and now in recent days, the active and hostile resistance against law enforcement officers from our own country.

In declining to issue a preliminary injunction, U.S. District Judge Randolph Moss wrote that the CPB had failed to meet the threshold to halt Trump’s effort to remove Sony’s Tom Rothman, as well as Laura Ross and Diane Kaplan. Moss wrote, “Although the case presents important questions regarding the status of the Corporation and its relationship with the federal government, the Court must leave those questions for another day.

We often hear, in the Democrat media, about negligent discharges (NDs) of firearms. They usually suggest firearms are far too dangerous for Normal Americans and must be banned for public safety. See how they’re shooting themselves and others?! After all, if it saves one life, don’t we have to ban them?! Isn’t that a moral imperative?! If we adopted that standard, we’d have no power tools, no kitchen knives, we wouldn’t be able to use fire or swim, and we’d be walking but surrounded by safety cages on wheels, just in case. I’ve long maintained there are two types of gun owners: those who have had negligent discharges and those who

Ahmad Al-Issa, the gunman, had been convinced that Americans were ‘Islamophobic’ and his family had moved from what would become the ISIS capital in Syria. The Al-Issa family lived in Arvada, a refugee sanctuary city near Boulder that had also previously produced Shannon Conley, an American convert to Islam who tried to join ISIS and scouted a local church. Boulder authorities blamed gun violence and mental illness. Now, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, an Egyptian Muslim, set elderly Jews on fire at a march to free hostages held by the Hamas terrorists whom he supported, while shouting “Free Palestine”.

William Sullivan’s essay regarding scientific atheism is intriguing and enlightening. It got me thinking about a very simple proof for a Creator. The atheist loves to proclaim, “There is no scientific proof of the existence of God!” This is true, since by “scientific” proof, the atheist means “empirical” proof, and there is no empirical proof of anything. However, it is quite easy to use logic to prove in easy steps that God exists and that He is the God of the Bible. 1. Every existing thing either is or is not existentially dependent upon the action of other beings. Those beings that are existentially dependent are called “contingent.” A being that is not
