A growing number of Democrats are arguing that members of their party need to reconsider their use of certain left-wing words and phrases if they want to better connect with voters they lost in the 2024 election cycle, The Washington Post reported on Tuesday. Some members of the Democratic Party are raising concerns that many of their candidates have become too reliant on using elite-sounding phrases, which they claim is a type of language that could isolate working-class voters, according to the Washington Post. The article cites examples of left-wing words and phrases often used by Democrats, such as “oligarchs,” “equity,” “justice-involved populations” and “intersectionality.”

They STILL don't get it. They think it's a matter of using the right words. It's not. It's a matter of the right ideas, the right platform, the right morality, the right notion of what America is and isn't. What is wrong with these morons?

This is the Dems' echo chamber problem. They only associate with people who think like them and agree with them on all points. They're liberal because they rely on emotion; they can't think about things in a logical way. It makes them feel good to say they are the smartest people around, so they never question it. They are the smartest people around, because that's what they tell each other.

Here's part of the problem. The dems can't even admit that they just sound stupid. (Some women have penises.) They have to be professors sounding stupid. They have such a conceited attitude about themselves that it is nauseating. They will always believe that WE are the problem and not them. If we would just admit their superiority then the problem would magically go away. We are rubes, deplorables, non college educated (not true as I know boatloads of educated conservatives), the lowest of the low. I am sure they shutter at the thought of having to touch one of us. This is just a game to them but they will make an attempt to play it. They will continue to lie and try to yank our chains to make us see that they are superior so just follow them for our own good. Sit back, relax, pop out those babies, go coon hunting, chaw on that tobacci and get the still ginned up. Oh and vote D because they get you. Dishonest liars to the core.

In a nutshell they're clueless. They believe the problem is not with the policies they support but with the words they speak. More of "our message is the problem". No, it really isn't but if that's what they believe then let 'em believe it.

They use made up phrases with made up words. My grasp of vocabulary is better than your average bear, and half the crap that they spout meaningless to me . More often than not, they use words or phrases to disguise what they really mean. What I've learned is that half the Schiff that they spout is a lie and the other half is exaggerated. A Democrat will whiz or your leg and insist that it was unanticipated golden precipitation, for which you should be grateful and even pony up your fair share.

I was having a nice conversation with a guy at a function. We had a lot in common. Same religion, both married with kids and we both had blue collar jobs. Then he goes on a Trump tirade and my comment was "Neither one of us has the power to decide any of this, so why get excited?". He got even more worked up and came up with "Walls don't work!". My comment was "Certainly they do." He fell apart and stomped off. Havent seen him since.

In light of the fresh revelations stemming from the release of the new exposé on Joe Biden, "Original Sin," as well as the recent announcement that the former president has an aggressive form of prostate cancer, questions are being raised about what those closest to him may have known and if so, when they knew it.Among those in the hot seat is Dr. Kevin O'Connor, who was Biden's White House physician and who was also referenced in the book as having a discussion with aides about the possibility that Biden would need to use a wheelchair in his last year and a half in office if he suffered another fall.

It’s taken a while, but Democrats are finally confronting the empirical reality of their second loss to Trump. The evidence is impossible to ignore. For example, recent analysis of county-level voting trends in the past three elections by Shane Goldmacher in The New York Times shows that Trump improved his standing in “1,433 of the nation's 3,100+ counties, even as he lost in 2020. Democrats have expanded their vote share continuously in only 57 counties.” Likewise, TLP’s own analysis of the gold-star Catalist data from 2024 shows how the party lost significant ground with major demographic groups from 2012 to 2024, including: black voters (22-point decline), Latinos (27-point decline), working-class

Like a lot of Democrats these days, Chris Murphy has been doing some soul searching. For years, the Connecticut Senator, who took office shortly after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, was one of the nation’s most outspoken advocates for tighter gun laws. Gun safety was so important, he argued, that supporting an assault-weapons ban should be mandatory for Democratic leaders. Recently, Murphy has come to believe he was wrong. Not about tougher gun laws, but about trying to force all Democrats to adopt his position. “I bear some responsibility for where we are today,” he told me in a phone interview in April.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom is angling to be the Democratic presidential nominee in 2028 by trying to appeal to voters outside his progressive base. But he's not fooling anyone. Newsom, for example, has proposed limiting health care coverage for migrants who entered the country illegally. He's told local leaders in California to clear homeless encampments, which are a bane for urban dwellers from San Francisco to San Diego. And he's even engaged on his podcast in thoughtful, cordial conversations with conservatives like Charlie Kirk, cofounder of Turning Point USA.

President Trump’s return to the White House and his populist agenda constitute an existential threat to a Democratic Party so unpopular with its own voters that it is in danger of going the way of the Whigs. Several recent polls have revealed that only about 1 in 3 Democrats are optimistic about the future of their party. In response to this crisis, their leaders have reverted to their longstanding tradition of inciting political violence. James Comey claims he is “nonaligned” politically, yet his now notorious “8647” Instagram post was all too typical of Democrat calls for the President’s assassination.

I realize we increasingly have become a society that embraces a “my way or the highway” attitude. Both sides are guilty of that way of thinking. Yet, it seems especially egregious from those on the left. Progressives’ lack of tolerance for other views has presented itself in different iterations, from the cancel culture phenomenon to angry demonstrations on college campuses when a conservative dares to speak. So perhaps it's not surprising that liberals love slapping labels on those who have the audacity to believe something different from progressive dogma. Nazi. Hitler. Bigot. Hater. To name a few.

WASHINGTON — A federal court on Wednesday blocked President Donald Trump from imposing sweeping tariffs on imports under an emergency-powers law, swiftly throwing into doubt Trump’s signature set of economic policies that have rattled global financial markets, frustrated trade partners and raised broader fears about inflation intensifying and the economy slumping. The ruling from a three-judge panel at the New York-based U.S. Court of International Trade came after several lawsuits arguing Trump’s “Liberation Day” tariffs exceeded his authority and left the country’s trade policy dependent on his whims. Trump has repeatedly said the tariffs would force manufacturers to bring back factory jobs to the U.S.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz pledged Wednesday to help Ukraine develop its own long-range missile systems that would be free of any Western-imposed limitations on their use and targets as the Kyiv government fights to repel Russia’s invasion. Some of the advanced weapon systems that allies have supplied to Ukraine during the 3-year war were subject to range and target restrictions — a fraught political issue stemming from fears that if the weapons struck deep inside Russia, the Kremlin might retaliate against the country that provided them and draw NATO into Europe’s biggest conflict since World War II.

But beneath his words was a deeper, more uncomfortable realization. Back when he bought his Tesla—a Model 3 purchased around 2019 or 2020—Cillizza assumed the real danger would come from conservatives.
