In April, there were 9 Republican mayors in America’s 50 biggest cities. In May, that number fell to 8. Democrats are celebrating Omaha’s mayoral election win as proof that Republicans are out of step with America, when it’s really evidence how the nation’s cities have fallen out of step with America. There was a time when America’s cities were symbols of progress, but they have long since become sinkholes of decline, clinging to a handful of industries that employ a tiny fraction of their population as evidence of their relevance.

The Trump administration on Thursday revoked Harvard University’s ability to enroll international students due to “pro-terrorist conduct” at campus protests.
The Department of Homeland Security notified the university about its decision amid a fight over Harvard’s behavioral records of student visa holders. The administration has requested that the university turn over the records, while Harvard has failed to comply.
“This administration is holding Harvard accountable for fostering violence, antisemitism, and coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party on its campus,”

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday granted a Trump administration request that allows the president to fire members of independent federal agencies while suggesting that its legal reasoning would not apply to the Federal Reserve.
The move to pause a lower court ruling formalizes a temporary decision along similar lines on April 9 that allowed President Donald Trump to fire Gwynne Wilcox, a member of the National Labor Relations Board, and Cathy Harris, a member of the Merit Systems Protection Board. "The stay reflects our judgment that the government is likely to show that both the NLRB and MSPB exercise considerable executive power,"

The Supreme Court split evenly Thursday in a high-profile challenge over the nation’s first religious charter school, leaving in place a ruling from Oklahoma’s top court that found the proposed Catholic school unconstitutional.
The 4-4 split was made possible because conservative Justice Amy Coney Barrett recused herself from the case. Though she did not explain her decision, the former University of Notre Dame law professor had multiple ties to the attorneys representing the St. Isidore of Seville Catholic Virtual School.
Religious groups had won a series of opinions from the conservative majority in recent years allowing public funding to be spent on religious education and programming.

WASHINGTON – A federal judge on Thursday temporarily reinstated hundreds of Education Department workers laid off by the Trump administration and blocked the president's executive order attempting to dismantle the decades-old agency.
District Court Judge Myong J. Joun, a Biden appointee in Boston, said the White House's decision to fire more than 1,300 workers in March has prevented the federal government from effectively implementing legally required programs and services.

As you’ve no doubt heard, when South Africa’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, appeared in the White House yesterday, President Trump challenged him on the fact that South Africa’s white farmers are being targeted with a new land confiscation law, and are also the victims of targeted attacks, another layer of hazard in a land rife with violent crime. It’s for this reason that Trump gave visas to a paltry 58 white South Africans, sending the Democrats—the same ones who’ve been complacent as upwards of 32 million illegal aliens breached our borders—into paroxysms of race-based rage.

The U.S. Senate has decided to discuss a resolution that would roll back California’s stringent vehicle emission standards mandating the phasing out of gas-powered cars.
On May 21, the Senate voted 51–46 to consider H.J.Res.88, a resolution seeking to nullify waivers granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to California that allow the state to implement its Advanced Clean Cars (ACC) II regulations.
The Clean Air Act bans states from establishing their own tailpipe emission standards for trucks and cars. However, California can get an exemption to the ban if it gets a waiver from the EPA. Following thewaiver approval, California can implement its own emissions rules.

Israel has “apparently” eliminated Mohammed Sinwar, a senior Gaza-based terrorist and brother of former Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar, in a recent airstrike, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a press conference on Wednesday evening.
The Israeli Air Force (IAF), on May 4, targeted Mohammed and several other senior terrorists in a precision strike on an underground terror base located in Khan Younis, a Hamas stronghold in southern Gaza.

Earlier this week, I made the case that Dr. Kevin O’Connor — Joe Biden’s longtime physician and former White House doctor — should be called to testify before Congress about his role in the cover-up of Biden’s obvious cognitive decline and now his cancer diagnosis. A growing number of medical experts agree that Biden’s condition didn’t just appear out of nowhere; it was likely known about for years. And now, we may finally be seeing the walls start to close in.
On Thursday, House Oversight Chairman James Comer ramped up his investigation into the deliberate and coordinated cover-up, not just of Biden’s mental and physical deterioration,

Democrats actively oppose the Trump administration’s efforts to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, despite the administration’s focus on those with criminal histories.
To support their opposition, Democrats frequently claim, almost as an article of faith, that illegal immigrants are less prone to commit crime. “The crime rate among immigrants is far lower than the crime rate among native-born Americans,” New York Rep. Jerrold Nadler asserted confidently. “So the whole issue is wrong.”
“Immigrants commit crimes in this country at a rate lower than natural-born citizens,” added Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy. “So, if you want a safe town or a safe neighborhood, you are better off if you have immigrants.”

The House of Representatives in the early morning hours of May 22 approved legislation to enact President Donald Trump’s agenda, capping off weeks of negotiations and uncertainty within the House Republican conference.
The House narrowly approved the bill in a party-line 215-214 vote. The vote came just before 7:00 a.m. after an all-night debate in the lower chamber.
The bill now heads to the Senate which is expected to make revisions to the package. Any differences will then need to be resolved in conference before moving to Trump’s desk.(snip)Johnson said the bill reflects the conservative values of the party, including limited government, individual freedom, and fiscal responsibility.

Several weeks ago, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson seemingly suggested that conservative criticisms of Democrats’ ongoing judicial coup against President Trump amounted to “attacks on our democracy.” Not even a month later, the junior justice is effectively endorsing real leftist suppression of democracy.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Supreme Court granted temporary relief to Maine Republican Rep. Laurel Libby. As The Federalist’s Breccan Thies previously reported, the state rep had her “voting and speaking rights” stripped by Maine’s Democrat-controlled House after she published “a social media post where she called out a male athlete, who claimed to be a female, for stealing a title from females at a sporting event.”

Canada is conducting "high level" talks with the United States over joining President Donald Trump's proposed "Golden Dome" missile defense program, Prime Minister Mark Carney said on Wednesday.
Trump announced his plans the previous day to develop the multilayered, $175 billion (€155 billion) system with ground- and space-based capabilities that can defend against a wide range of enemy weapons, like drones, hypersonic and cruise missiles, and intercontinental ballistic missiles.
The US President said he expected the missile shield to be ready by the end of his second term in 2029.

The Justice Department on Monday launched a new Civil Rights Fraud Initiative that will use the False Claims Act to investigate and pursue claims against federally funded entities that knowingly violate civil rights laws — including colleges and universities. The act, originally passed by Congress in 1863 to address fraud by defense contractors during the Civil War, will now be used to work to ensure universities and others do not allow civil rights abuses, such as favoring one race over another. The act allows private citizens to file complaints on behalf of the government, called “qui tam” lawsuits, against those who have allegedly defrauded the government,

I have no idea how to comprehend this act of incompetence. Last Friday, severe storms rolled into St. Louis. A tornado touched down and struck the northern part of the city—and there were no warning sirens. The tornado alarm system was never activated. It wasn’t due to a computer glitch. It was human error: the emergency management director, Sarah Russell, essentially forgot to turn it on, but it gets worse: the staff wasn’t even in the office. Russell contacted the fire department to initiate the system, but this was a shambolic failure

Leader of the Economic Freedom Fighters party, Julius Malema, has infamously led chants and songs calling for White farmers to be murdered. Ed Martin’s nomination to serve as DC Attorney was nuked by Republican Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC). He was in office on an interim basis. Trump selected Jeanine Pirro to replace Martin, who is now a pardon attorney and helming the Department of Justice’s weaponization task force. Martin is looking at Biden’s pardons, specifically the ones issued toward the end of his presidency. They might not be legal. It comes off allegations that Biden aides might have illegally used the autopen. President Trump has asked who was behind the autopen since it’s become clear that Joe Biden was not mentally cogent enough to know what was going on (via The Hill):

If Democrats in Vacationland thought the censure of Rep. Laurel Libby would put an end to the education policy debate surrounding Title IX—and the participation of biological men in women’s sports—they’ve misread the moment, misread federal law, and badly misread their voters.
What was meant to silence dissent has only amplified it. What was supposed to end the debate has cracked it wide open.
In March, I wrote about how Democrats’ schizophrenic treatment of women’s sports—both existential and irrelevant, depending on the news cycle—was a political liability that helped cost them the 2024 election. Today, in Maine, that liability is becoming a full-blown revolt.

House Republicans passed their sweeping “big, beautiful” bill early Thursday morning, overcoming opposition from several factions within the caucus and taking a major step toward delivering President Trump’s domestic agenda.
The bill passed 215 to 214, largely along party lines. Republican Representatives Thomas Massie of Kentucky and Warren Davidson of Ohio joined a united Democratic caucus in voting against the legislation. Republican Representative Andy Harris, chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, voted “present.”
The bill would extend the 2017 tax cuts, introduce new tax cuts such as Trump’s signature “no tax on tips”

If you want an accurate gauge of future economic conditions, look no further than Paul “Nobel-Prize-Winning-Economist” Krugman. He has a solid record of being exactly wrong, as the above quotations show.
So, the fact that he is now predicting stagflation should give everyone a boost of confidence that we are headed for a second Trump boom.
Krugman’s new prediction comes, in fact, just as signs are looking up.
The stock market is back in positive territory since President Donald Trump took office, and is up 7% compared with a year ago.

In the last two and a half years, eight sitting members of the House or Senate have died in office. Every time, it's been a Democrat. Rep. Gerry Connolly of Virginia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, died on Wednesday at 75, after a battle with esophageal cancer. He's the third House Democrat to die in the last three months. If Democrats had gained a narrow 1 or 2-seat majority in 2024, they would have lost it by now. The streak of Democratic deaths could just be something of a coincidence. After all, there are plenty of elderly

The real nakba [catastrophe, for Palestinians] was that they started a war and lost it. Well, if you start a war, that is what can happen.
The Trump administration should beware of countries where the mouth says one thing but the legs do the opposite. Believe the legs. The Iranians and Palestinians have not given up their dream of eliminating Israel and America.
Iran's leaders do the same thing. Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reassures Americans that "We are not seeking war, we favor negotiation and dialogue." Meanwhile, Khamenei calls for the elimination of the "Zionist regime" and endorses "Death to America."

America isn't a democracy but a constitutional republic designed to limit majority rule and protect individual rights. This distortion enables narratives that label dissent as dangerous, especially in portraying Trump as a "threat to democracy" -- a claim pushed by institutions caught spreading falsehoods about him. What appears as consensus is actually assigned opinion enforced by media and political power, as "conspiracy theories used to silence dissent are proving to be true.

Is Harvard irredeemable?
Yes, unless they are forced by external forces to reform. That's not the assessment of a conservative curmudgeon or some extreme partisans exacting revenge on institutions filled with lefty lunatics.
That is what several Harvard professors and researchers who have watched a once-great institution become what it is today--practically totalitarian.
Omar Sultan Haque, M.D., Ph.D., a Harvard researcher, penned a cri de cœur on his Substack arguing that Harvard has betrayed its very reason for being: the search for truth.
