The media and Democrats are in a full-blown meltdown over a luxury Boeing 747 gifted by Qatar to be used as a temporary Air Force One and could one day be used for Donald Trump’s presidential library. CNN, MSNBC, and liberal pundits are framing it as some sort of foreign bribery scheme, with some even suggesting national security is at risk. But according to Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.), there’s a key detail they’re all conveniently leaving out—and it turns the entire narrative upside down.
Mullin appeared on CNN to challenge the hysteria, telling Jake Tapper that the reaction is wildly overblown.

As Paul Harvey would say, "and now for the rest of the story," it is very telling why they leave out this detail.

Another blatant lie by omission from both the dems and their propaganda ministry.

BTW, are we returning the Statute of Liberty? Of course, dems would not know that she was a present as well.

The Biden Administration initiates the use of the Signal app for teleconferencing and the Trump Administration is attacked for continuing to use it. The Biden Administration initiates discussions to acquire a jet from Qatar and the Trump Administration is attacked for proceeding with the deal. There's a clear pattern here . . .

It is not the Statue of Liberty and I think it is a terrible idea. We can call it the Gilded Statue of Ego and Excess. Qatar is a nation most not to be trusted.

Someone should tell Mike Pence who has been on TV spouting off about the "emouluments clause" , not knowing what he's talking about but eager to join the jackal pack.

Here’s what nobody is telling the left. Who the hell cares. Focus on tax relief, illegal immigration, the collapsing education system, the economy, and Making America Great Again. For God’s sake find something productive to do.

Why differentiate between the media AND democrats as this report begins? They are one and the same. The fact that "they" are in a full-blown meltdown is also no news. When are they not? Only when they regain their mental faculties and determine to work on behalf of the people rather than themselves will that be real earth shaking news.

When Saudi Arabia gave Jimmy Carter a silver eagle nobody was freaking out. Why is the plane is a gift to the Presidency of the USA and be used by the current and next president such a problem to these people who love illegals?

What most people don't realize about the current "Air Force One" is the level of nuclear hardening of everything installed on that aircraft. Aircraft intended for foreign "heads of state" do NOT receive the kind of scrutiny that the AF1 has had in its construction and evolution, and that's just from the "electronics" standpoint. The jet engines are also unique and capable of undisclosed thrust. There are so many mechanical modifications and highly classified modifications for anti-missile counter-measures, etc. that it's impossible to modify the Qatar plane exactly like the current AF1. Also, the AutoPilot of the current AF1 is an old Sperry Aerospace (now Honeywell) system that is NOT on the Qatar aircraft. The Boeing 747-400 and -800 models use the "Collins" flight deck avionics, including the AutoPilot. Believe it or not, the Feds went to Collins told them they had to modify their AutoPilot software to work like the Sperry system installed on the 747-200 AF1, because all the USAF manuals and training are already built around a 1980's AutoPilot.
There is simply NO WAY that the USAF and Secret Service will authorize or allow the POTUS to fly around on a jet made for another head of state. Trump might like all the gold throne and gold toilet for the king, but beyond that he is not aware of the operational problems in accepting such a gift. The USAF will put that plane in the boneyard and scavenge airframe parts off of it for the actual new AF1.

Am ambivalent about this. The B52 bombers are even older than AF1 and they work. But if someone, other than Trojans, offer you or your country a present take it. Personally, I'd rather have one of those girls who twirl their hair. But it's not MY choice. None of this would be necessary if Boeing employees weren't paid by the hour.

RE #12:
It is being gutted, including all electronics, to the point that all that is left is the bare airframe. Neither President Trump nor any subsequent Presidents who use it will see any of the ecoutrements, guildedor otherwise, that the Qatari government put into the original plane.
Does anyone really think that both President Trump and the Secret Service have not considered this before?? President Trump does not strike me as a stupid or gullible man.

#14, the reason he "likes it" is because the custom interior was literally "fit for a king." It's highly unlikely that POTUS knows much about the inner workings of aircraft avionics, structures, and systems, much less the maintenance and training required for upkeep in the USAF inventory. The one story I have regarding Donald Trump's aviation prowess does not favor him.
When it comes to DoD acquisitions from Boeing, every significant component or major subassembly undergoes strict inspections, along with paperwork providing "traceability back to dirt" of all components. Accepting a Boeing "foreign sale aircraft" from an end customer brings with it concerns regarding its maintenance history, parking or storage locations, length of time parked, who flew it and to where. Buying a brand new aircraft from Boeing clears the aforementioned "to do" list. If anyone thinks this approach will be "cheaper, faster, better" than acquiring a "spare" Air Force One from the boneyard in Arizona, they should reconsider. By the time this Qatar 747-400 is flying with USAF approved EVERYTHING, Donald Trump will be well into retirement in Florida, and each new Boeing aircraft will have accumulated hundreds of flight hours on them each. Bear in mind that no two aircraft coming off a production line are identical. Even sequential serial number aircraft have differences that must be accounted for during their operational lifetimes. Getting two same model aircraft manufactured many, many years apart can be like an iPhone15 compared to an iPhone13. In maintenance of aircraft, differences drive dollars.

Trump's second term is all about momentum, a flurry of positive achievements. And this whirlwind trip was that on steroids. With that constantly top of mind, Trump knows you don't want to start off the Qatar leg of that trip by an odd or even insulting moment of refusing the host's rather lavish gift. So I don't know if Trump honestly finds the gift flattering, generous or what but I do know he was not going to unnecessarily "bring down the room" by not enthusiastically accepting the gift and extolling the gift, not to mention trolling his critics, be they Dems, their media or RINOs.
