This dad is one unhappy mouseketeer.
A father-of-three who went viral for his posts about how much Walt Disney World costs says the $1,400 he spent for one day was not worth it.
In TikTok that has been viewed by millions, Craig Stowell said a trip to the famed Orlando theme park with his wife and three kids blew up his wallet for only a modicum of enjoyment when faced with the never ending stream of lines at Disney.[snip]
The frustrated dad said he spent $974 for five single-day tickets, and that’s with the Florida resident discount. “It started with the ticket purchase,

He's fortunate his family didn't visit on an unannounced to the public "Gay Pride" event. Then his children could have been entertained by homosexual and lesbian PDA's all over the park.

His lesson was an expensive one. But as long as there are people like him who will - even just one time - pay $1300+ plus for a single day at Disney - nothing will change. That also goes for Disney+ streaming and the endless parade of Disney movies featuring woke perversions galore. Disney has not even started to learn the lessons necessary to put 'woke' to death.

Disney has become a giant money-sucking machine. Any parent who doesn't get it will be on the road to the poorhouse if they succumb to any of the Disney supersuck hoses (parks, movies/TV, and merchandise). Find out how to use the word "NO!"

"spent $974 for five single-day tickets, and that’s with the Florida resident discount"
Ah, that's $194.80 per single-day ticket. Going to "see" it all in one day? Don't forget standing in the long lines(rides).

We never took our kids there. We have three boys and took them camping, swimming and fishing and they loved it.

Poster #9, that's what we did also. Camping in a tent, we didn't buy a travel trailer until they all moved out. We figured tenting would build character and boy...they are characters.

I live 2 hours from Disney. I would NEVER consider going there. If I'm going to spend that much money, I'm driving north to Six Flags over Georgia. Season passes are as low as $55 and include parking and even a discount on food and souvenirs. It is a 5 hour drive, so even with a cheap nearby motel, it is well worth the trip.

ALL Florida amusement parks are scandalously expensive. A day at Discovery Cove (run by Sea World) with my son & three grandkids put me back $2600. Worked hard all my life and I had the money. But it’s worth was a fraction of that amount.

Overpriced, overhyped. Watch an oldie goldie Disney film together at home with popcorn and Hershey bars. Then load up the car and head for the great outdoors to commune with nature. Or visit some local historical points of interest. Then head to Six Flags for the day. Disneyland might have had its place in the 50's and 60's but like the local shopping mall it has been replaced and is no longer the place to hangout. A lot of fun can be had for $1500 and not all spent in one afternoon.

Now, extrapolate that single-day visit to a week-long vacation to Orlando, which is what's required if you plan to take in all the attractions in all the parks at Disnetworld. Walt once said that if you give 'em more than they can see in a day they'll have to come back. Mr. Stowell won't be back but countless thousands of others will be, as we all know someone who is going to take their daughter or kids to experience a Disney theme park no matter the cost. Gonna be real intersting in Anaheim when Disneyland expands from 2 to 5 parks in the coming years.

As long as I can access a boat or a beach in FL, I will make my own fun. My kids are grown, so I thank God I don't have to endure Disney World, the rude crowds, the insane lines, the even crazier prices. Oh, and I don't have to throw up in my mouth if a guy with a mustache dressed in a princess costume pretends to be a girl either.

A bit off the topic but in the same vein are ballparks. I'm a huge baseball fan and I've tried catching the Yankees in all the ballparks, only a few of the newest parks to go. I've noticed that in recent years the food at the parks is crap but way more expensive. We go to Safeco a lot, or did, but the last three times we ended up spending so much for food which we didn't even want to finish. I wouldn't mind as much about the price if the food was better. The last time I went to the new Yankee Stadium I had a prime rib sandwich which cost $20, I'd buy them all day long. The Yankees are in town tonight and for the first time ever we've decided not to go, we'll watch from home and eat our own food. I feel for families that have a lot of kids. As a kid of the 60's Disney was a huge part of my life but in the past decade they've shown their ugly side and I'm not even talking about their greed that I'm so turned off that I'll never give them another penny.

It is a shame he didn't get online and check out the prices before going there. It costs nothing and would save a lot of grief.

It's just as bad at Universal and at Disneyland in Anaheim. Don't waste your time or your money going to these money holes.

We took our 3 kids there several times, a good number of years ago. My wife spent quite a while figuring out different angles as to how to work with the Disney system (at the time) for the best deals.
At the time, a single day was VERY expensive, but if you had a several-day pass like a '5 day park-hopper' the cost per day came down dramatically and we had the run of all the parks, and with several days, there was no pressure to 'see as much as fast as you can'. Still expensive, but the parks had attractions that are unique to Disney. (This was long before the 'Woke' crap was as prevalent as it apparently is today.) Staying at a modest hotel in Kissimmee, breakfast at a local buffet, then snacks in the kid's backpacks so that we only bought one meal a day in the park, then staying the whole day, until the fireworks at 9 or 10 PM...... it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't a rip, either. But to take a bunch of kids for ONE day..... that's a disaster before you even start on the trip!
Also, going on dates that historically have low attendance to minimize standing in lines, and using 'fast passes' when available..... we actually had a pretty good time.

Caveat emptor: Let the buyer beware. Took our kids to Disneyland in 2001 and never went back. Anything Disney never got our money and never will.
