There’s Real Evidence for Easter

Original Article

If you think politicians make outlandish claims, consider what Christians celebrate at Easter. They believe a man named Jesus was brutally tortured, murdered, and buried for three days before rising from the dead. Furthermore, they assert this man was also fully God and that your belief or lack of belief in him determines your eternal destiny. Christians have no video evidence or DNA tests to prove this. That’s understandable since Christians say the event Easter celebrates took place almost 2,000 years ago. Americans can’t even agree on things that happened two weeks ago. Isn’t Easter an ancient example of “fake news,” a myth propagated by people putting faith over historical realities?

Amen. Knowing human nature, I am sure those who were there and wanted Jesus hanged would have left no stone unturned to find who removed his body and to find it to prove he was dead. They are still looking. He is risen!!!

There are many sound apologetics for Jesus' life and resurrection. People deny because they want to, not because it doesn't make sense. Some of God's ways will never be known on Earth. But we have sufficient teaching to "make us wise unto salvation."

I believe in Jesus Christ, but I am not so sure about some of the things man has done in his name since. Arguing religion is a crazy thing to do, but many religions says belief in Christ is the only way to find heaven. If there is a heaven and a God will he send a good person, perhaps a Jew ? into limbo because they do not believe in him? Not a merciful God. Not a true God. Now others can believe what they like I won't argue with them and this is only one thing have doubts about . There are many. God is allegedly infallible, but why would he start a religion, a belief, and then let man screw it up so badly.

The central issue is, is the Bible true? This article presents some very good historical evidence. Can the message of the text itself be tested? The Bible says that God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Jesus said whoever believes in Him should not perish. He said whoever asks, receives. John said that whatever we ask according to God's will we will receive. The Bible says it is God's will that we believe that He raised Jesus from the dead and that if we confess Jesus as LORD with out mouths we will be saved. I am 100% convinced that if anyone asks God to show him that He raised Jesus Christ from the dead that it is His will to demonstrate this to our satisfaction. We are saved by grace through faith and that not of ourselves; it is the gift of God. By the way, faith is not something that you believe just because someone says so -- it is PERSUASION based on experience. I made this request 49 years ago. One morning I got up not believing that God raised Jesus from the dead, but before I went to bed that night I was persuaded of the truth of this so much that by the grace of God I will give my life for it. God is infallible and His Word is true. As the Bible says, "Taste and see..." PS I have many questions, but I am persuaded God can answer them all.

Actually, #6, faith has NOTHING to do with experience--in fact, experience will mislead you. Heb. 11:1 perfectly defines faith: "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” If you need proof, check out the thief on the cross. He met Jesus and believed Jesus was Who He said He was.

I forgot to say: #4, the problem with your argument (and everyone else who argues that anyone is "good enough" to be accepted into heaven) is that humans have two problems: 1) our behavior misses the mark, and that includes all of our so-called good works, which are used toilet paper in God's eyes, and 2) our spirits are dead to God, enemies of God, and alienated or separated from God. The two-fold finished work of Christ on the cross and via the resurrection takes care of both of these issues for those who say YES to Jesus: His death on the cross deals with our behavior by taking away our sins (we are forgiven); and the resurrection takes care of our identity--we were crucified with Christ, buried with Him, and raised with Him as new creations in Christ. Born again believers are saints who are holy, righteous, and acceptable to God.

Oh, please. In my opinion, it is seriously misguided to suggest that the good works and good deeds of mankind are "used toilet paper in God's eyes." Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:34-40

#7 I don't mean to say that experience alone produces faith. However, I am convinced that experiencing God's Word does produce faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. I called on God and He answered me. This is according to His Word. Actually the thief on the cross had the experience of personally meeting Jesus and calling on Him. Jesus answered him, too. To me experience is what happens in life. When I read in God's Word an exact description of what happens in my life it gives me faith. My hope and intention is that someone my read what I have said and pursue the Truth for his / her self. Read God's Word, try it for yourself and see what happens. God is real and He will respond to you if you reach out to Him. God wants you to know Him.

In response to #4, I guess it all depends on how a person views what happened in the Garden of Eden. There are going to be people who will try and convince me otherwise but I know what is in my heart. If you believe that God put the tree in the Garden of Eden, God will be viewed as an unloving God and didn't know what He was doing. If you believe that God was not the author of the tree in the Garden of Eden, then God will be viewed as a loving God who has to respond to disobedience. I know where I stand. . .

I bring this up because, after 2k years, one WILL forget some details. About 1,000 times more manuscripts preserve the deeds and teaching of Jesus in the New Testament (about 25,000 total) than there are preserving other classical ancient works of historic figures who lived at approximately the same time, with the exception of Homer, whose Iliad is backed by 1,800 manuscripts. But that is still less than one-tenth the number of ancient manuscripts that back the authenticity of the New Testament. https://www.discovery.org/a/jesus-christs-resurrection-the-best-documented-event-of-ancient-history/

#9 - Small correction; it is the Shroud of Turin, not Fatima. The Shroud is in their Cathedral of San Giovanni Battista. In the 1970's a group of scientists, from different fields, had three days to test and study the Shroud. The blood on the Shroud tested to be AB, one of the rarest blood types, which is also the same blood type found in every Eucharistic Miracle that have occurred over the centuries. The oldest in Lapanto, Italy from the 8th century, and the newest is from Buenos Aires in the 1990's. Dissenting scientists tried to debunk the Shroud's scientific results by deliberately taking a sample from the Shroud that was mended in the Middle Ages after it was damaged in a church fire. For those who refuse to believe, they still cling to this false evidence. The Good Thief mocked Jesus for three hours, yet in his last moments he realized The Christ's True Nature and made a simple and faith-filled request, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom!", and became Christ's escort into Heaven. Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future. AMDG

I’m enjoying some videos that contain a general introduction to the Bible, the Book God Breathed, by Keith Mosher, Sr. There is also a free written version available online, if you prefer to read. I have both. God created man as a free moral agent, so belief isn’t forced on any of us. But, knowledge and understanding bring the wisdom to choose wisely. I highly recommend this study to anyone interested in how we can know the Bible is the inspired word of God, Bible canonicity, and how we got the Bible. What if I told you that when federal district judges issue injunctions blocking President Donald Trump’s policies in a judicial insurrection, they were the ones breaking the law? No, it’s not just because these judges are effectively usurping the authority of the president over the executive branch. It’s more clear-cut than that. When Chief Judge James Boasberg of the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., issued an order demanding the Trump administration return reputed members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua to the U.S., he wasn’t just making immigration policy—he was violating a black-and-white rule laid down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

One of the things that frightens parents—and leads them to avoid vaccines that have protected against potentially deadly or life-changing diseases such as measles or polio—is the alleged connection between autism and some of the vaccinations. Parents know that autism diagnoses have skyrocketed over the past few years, and, given how today’s little children are vaccine pincushions, they’re rightly worried. However, I’d like to suggest some alternative reasons for the increased number of diagnoses. My ideas are not based on studies or a medical degree (I don’t have one) but on a little bit of common sense.
