Ten years ago I wrote a Taki’s Magazine article on one of the more self-destructive acts in the history of the U.S. government when the defeated Carter Administration intentionally hamstrung state capacity by throwing out the brand new, superbly validate civil service exam in the name of racial equity: (Snip) Of course, blacks and Hispanics did less well on this test than whites and Asians. Therefore the EEOC tacitly sponsored a lawsuit and filed it under the name of a Mexican-American plaintiff who had failed the test, Angel Luevano. (Snip) Finally, 44 years later, the new Trump Administration is trying to get out from under the Luevano consent decree:

We could make government much more efficient by identifying which job applicants are the most intelligent. But it might not be worth it you factor in the rioting in the streets that would ensue.

When I was working for a government agency, the head of HR called me and said I should apply to take the test for a newly created position. I did. She told me out of over 50 people taking it, I placed 4th but they had to put 8 blacks on the list to be considered for the job ahead of me. That's civil rights for you.

I imagine you have not spent any time with the hereditary elites of Europe, and you are lucky in that. They breed sociopaths there, and brutalize their children until they think of us, you and me, as talking cows or pigs. We exist for their harvest, we are their unwitting serfs and since the beginning of the American experiment, they have wanted the States back under their control, its wealth cascading into their maw. It is they who invented the climate and extinction scam out of the Club of Rome, which ramped up the intellectual nonsense of Malthus in order to choke your life and mine.

If you think politicians make outlandish claims, consider what Christians celebrate at Easter. They believe a man named Jesus was brutally tortured, murdered, and buried for three days before rising from the dead. Furthermore, they assert this man was also fully God and that your belief or lack of belief in him determines your eternal destiny. Christians have no video evidence or DNA tests to prove this. That’s understandable since Christians say the event Easter celebrates took place almost 2,000 years ago. Americans can’t even agree on things that happened two weeks ago. Isn’t Easter an ancient example of “fake news,” a myth propagated by people putting faith over historical realities?

One of the things that frightens parents—and leads them to avoid vaccines that have protected against potentially deadly or life-changing diseases such as measles or polio—is the alleged connection between autism and some of the vaccinations. Parents know that autism diagnoses have skyrocketed over the past few years, and, given how today’s little children are vaccine pincushions, they’re rightly worried. However, I’d like to suggest some alternative reasons for the increased number of diagnoses. My ideas are not based on studies or a medical degree (I don’t have one) but on a little bit of common sense.

Brown University has opened an investigation into a student for sending emails to administrators asking them what they do in a day. The 20-year-old sophomore at the university, Alex Shieh, sent emails to all 3,805 administrators at Brown asking them to “Describe what tasks you performed in the past week.” Now the school is investigating him for inflicting “Emotional/Psychological Harm” on the staff, according to documents obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. School officials accuse Shieh of obtaining confidential information and are requiring him to send proof he has deleted the content, essentially requiring the student to incriminate himself, something that Brown’s policies are supposed to protect him from.

Anyone with common sense can tell when there’s a setup for a big problem, and the Supreme Court keeps setting things up. (Snip) And then there was my perplexity in 2005 when I found myself wondering why G.W. Bush had appointed Roberts, the “new guy,” directly into being Chief Justice of our Supreme Court rather than elevating a more experienced judge to that position. At the time, he seemed like a lightweight compared to Scalia, Thomas, and Alito. I thought he should be learning from them rather than being the chief. The Democrat Party is down and I am all for kicking it as hard and as often as we can. DC is all a-flutter over this as they watch helpless as Trump takes down the evil empire Democrats made of the federal government. The swamp was drained 200 years ago when they built the city. It seems clear to me that the broad scope and speed of the administration’s actions have knocked the sense out of the media, the Democrats and, alas, the judiciary. They cannot seem to process the swift and expansive range of change without making themselves look ridiculous. The Press I could describe many examples but the easiest most complete one is that of the gang banger, wife beating, human trafficking suspect Salvadorean citizen who illegally crossed out borders and resided here. “Not always, but most of the time, people act in their own self-interest.” The above quote is our passport through the space-time continuum — the DeLorean we’ll drive to steal a sneak-peak at Election Day 2028, as we play Carnac the Magnificent. And it works… about 75% of the time. Alas, the future is stubbornly indifferent to the plans of today. People are mostly predictable, but black swan events still happen. Every now and then, a researcher in Wuhan will be dissecting bats and forget to wash her hands. Or a political speech in Butler, Penn. will be disrupted with gunshots. Life is crazy. It’ll never be fully predictable.

The Supreme Court on April 19 temporarily blocked the Trump administration from deporting an unspecified number of Venezuelan men currently in immigration custody who are alleged to be members of a criminal gang. The new, unsigned order granting the Venezuelans’ emergency application was issued on Saturday at about 12:55 a.m. Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito dissented. Alito’s reasoning will be added to the court’s file later, according to the order. “The Government is directed not to remove any member of the putative class of detainees from the United States until further order of this Court” the order states.
