When Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) took the stage at the annual Gridiron Club dinner Saturday night, he mockingly made mention of the thing Democrats have been buzzing about for months: his presidential ambitions. “If I actually wanted to be president, I wouldn’t do any of this,” Moore said. “Instead, I would take my case directly to the people who are in charge of our democracy: the Kremlin.” (Snip) “Wes Moore is the Captain America of Democratic politics,” said Jamal Simmons, a prominent party strategist who worked for former Vice President Kamala Harris. “He’s a veteran, an athlete and a

He and his democrap colleagues also are solid democraps having turned a billion-dollar surplus into a three-billion-dollar deficit in two years.

I guess locking up or deporting people who are here illegally and raping and or/murdering people if not robbing them with weapons is not democratic. Our country doesn't need anyone who thinks as such and should not hold public office .

ATLANTA — U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff came home to Atlanta Saturday to rally core Democrats desperate for effective action now against President Donald Trump’s administration. “Georgia will bow to no king!” Ossoff proclaimed at the end of a 20-minute speech that labeled Trump as corrupt, out of touch with the problems of regular people, and “trying to poison our democracy with fear and intimidation.” “Atlanta, this is not a drill. Atlanta, this is not a bad dream,” said Ossoff, who could be the Republicans’ No. 1 Democratic target in the 2026 elections. “As citizens, this is the test of our

WASHINGTON — The dustup over the future of the Democratic Party and how lawmakers should blunt President Donald Trump’s grip on Washington showed little signs of abating this week, with Sen. John Fetterman, of Pennsylvania, still playing a central role. Former Democratic Congressman Conor Lamb, who finished second to Mr. Fetterman in the state’s 2022 Senate primary, accused the senator on Friday of “collaborating with — rather than fighting” the president and his Republican Party, which controls both chambers of Congress. Mr. Lamb said Mr. Fetterman — who has slammed Democratic protests of Trump and last week voted in favor

Democrats overwhelmingly selected former Vice President Kamala Harris as their preferred candidate in a Morning Consult poll released on Friday. Four months after losing the 2024 election to President Donald Trump, Harris led the competition in the survey in a mock 2028 Democratic primary and the results were not close. Harris, who has not announced any intention to seek another presidential nomination, led a pack of 19 candidates with the support of 36%. Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg came in second with 10% support. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Democratic Minnesota Governor Tim Walz all

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed during a lengthy call Tuesday to an immediate pause in strikes against energy and infrastructure targets in the Ukraine war, but the Russian leader stopped short of backing a broader 30-day pause in fighting that the U.S. administration is pressing for. Senate Democrats are bracing for a painful post-mortem as they try to avoid a September rerun of their latest government funding defeat. Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, and nine of his members helped get a House GOP-authored government funding bill to the finish line, saying a vote to advance legislation they loathed was the least bad option. The alternative, they argued, was allowing a shutdown that could empower President Donald Trump and Elon Musk to accelerate their slashing of the federal bureaucracy. In a dramatic break with much of their party, ten Senate Democrats voted alongside Republicans on Friday to pass a six-month funding bill, averting a government shutdown with just hours to spare. The move defied a majority of the chamber's Democrats who opposed the measure, underscoring deep divisions over how to confront President Donald Trump and the Republican-controlled Congress. Ahead of the vote, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, Sen. John Fetterman of Pennsylvania, and Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto of Nevada were among the first Democrats to publicly back the Republican funding bill, arguing that a shutdown would

The Internal Revenue Service ordered most of its approximately 20,000 customer service employees back to the office this week, ending a long era of hybrid and remote work. There was just one problem: The IRS didn’t have enough desks to seat them all. The Return to Office (RTO) mandate has been postponed until further notice, union leaders said Wednesday.
