On “Fox News Sunday,” host Shannon Bream questioned Hegseth about a “rumored list” ...

Today’s election in Germany turned out as polls had predicted: the Christian Democrats, an ostensibly conservative party, had a 29% plurality; the Alternative for Germany, a genuinely conservative party, finished second with 21% of the vote; and the formerly ruling coalition was roundly repudiated, with Olaf Scholz’s SPD getting only 17%, while the Greens trailed with 12%. At the Daily Economy, my friend and colleague, the economist John Phelan, predicted today’s result and attributed it to the futile pursuit of “Green Dreams.” See the original for many links: The proximate cause of Sunday’s election is the collapse of the governing coalition

Border Czar Tom Homan has warned the city of Boston that he is coming and “bringing hell with me” after the police commission refused to work with Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Homan issued the warning during a fiery speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) over the weekend. “I read a story last night that the police commissioner of Boston, you said you’d double down on not helping law enforcement officers of ICE. I’m coming to Boston, and I’m bringing hell with me,” Homan said to thunderous applause. Boston is a “sanctuary city” and, therefore, doesn’t “enforce civil detainers regarding federal immigration law,”

She lost the election, but she’ll always have the NAACP Chairman’s Award. Former Vice President Kamala Harris reemerged in the public limelight for her first major speech since departing the White House Saturday night and took not-so-subtle shots at both President Trump and tech mogul Elon Musk. During an acceptance speech at the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards, Harris painted a bleak picture of the state of the country and urged attendees not to lose hope as her own party struggles over its direction amid Trump’s return. I’ve written about how the left uses language to (often falsely) shape political and social narratives. Abortion is “health care.” Illegal aliens are “undocumented citizens.” The homeless are the “unhoused,” or recently and more and more ridiculously, “people experiencing homelessness,” while people who have ties to Latin America are “Latinx” (although most Latinos in reality want nothing to do with the term). One the silliest arguments they regularly bring forth, though, is regarding the term “woman”—what does it mean? Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson doesn’t know; meanwhile, many leftists define it as “anyone who identifies as one.” Right. Enter Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D, but you probably already knew that),

It’s been an exhausting four weeks for anyone watching the administration’s effort to reshape, modernize, and clean up the federal government. It’s been an avalanche of Executive Orders, confirmation hearings, court battles, and staff reshufflings and removals. “The choice was between a slow canoe ride through more of the same, or a roller coaster. Americans chose the roller coaster.” A lot of things have been made clear. The most significant is that as things were going, the roles of the president and Congress had been largely diminished in recent years. Unelected bureaucrats in the U.S. Treasury were in charge of disbursing the money allocated by the federal budget to

Time to go a’privateering? We’ve heard a bit about letters of marque and reprisal recently. Sen. Mike Lee has proposed bringing back letters of marque in a thread on X, suggesting them as a tool for going after Mexican drug cartels. Erik Prince, who founded Blackwater, the private security company (it’s rude to call them “mercenaries”) has also weighed in in favor of this approach. My own Congressman, Tim Burchett (R-TN) has introduced legislation allowing the President to issue letters of marque and reprisal against cartels, the Cartel Marque and Reprisal Reauthorization Act of 2025, co-sponsored with Rep. Mark Messmer, (R-IN).

General Dan Caine — the newly nominated chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff — got tapped for his new position after becoming a favorite of President Donald Trump during a meeting with him in Iraq in 2018. Since that warzone meeting, Trump has repeatedly praised Caine, who served as the deputy commander of the special operations task force, which was then fighting the Islamic State. Trump called the three-star general “instrumental” in the “complete annihilation of the ISIS caliphate” in a Truth Social post Friday — harping on Caine’s reputation as a “warfighter.” Caine’s successful stint in Iraq, which lasted from 2018-2019, made a strong impression on the president,

Qatar is a small country of less than 5,000 square miles that wields enormous power due to its immense wealth, with which it has bought off politicians throughout Western Europe and North America. It has used its money to promote the jihadist Islam of the Muslim Brotherhood (M.B.) variety, along with anti-Western and antisemitic incitement. According to Dr. Udi Levy, former head of the Mossad’s Unit of Economic War against Terror, “Qatar has conquered Europe” and has great influence on some of the richest people in the U.S., many of them Jews, who lobby for this terror-supporting authoritarian regime.

The plans were communicated Friday, the same day Patel was sworn in on the campus of the White House, and are in keeping with his oft-stated vision of reducing the size of the FBI’s footprint in Washington and having more of a presence in offices in other cities. “Director Patel has made clear his promise to the American public that FBI agents

On Saturday's edition of MSNBC's The Weekend, former CIA Director and current MSNBC analyst John Brennan claimed it was "absurd" to suggest that President Trump fired C.Q. Brown, who Biden had appointed Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, because he had a woke agenda. Absurd? Really? After the death of George Floyd in 2020, Brown put out a video in which he focused on his own trials and tribulations as an African-American, and concluded by saying that he wanted "to lead and listen to necessary conversations on racism, diversity, and inclusion."

There’s something about being exposed that causes stupidity; a kneejerk reaction to push back against reality, no matter how obvious. As DOGE and President Donald Trump work to expose and fight government waste, fraud and abuse (how sad is it that they have to FIGHT Democrats to end those things?), more ways in which the federal government has been doing those things is coming to light. As a result of this disinfecting glow of sunlight, people are losing their jobs. While that’s never fun, those jobs are simply unnecessary. Since Democrats have adopted a “If Trump is for it, we’re against it…whatever IT is” mantra,

Greg Gutfeld is going gangbusters and proving that conservatives have made huge headways in the culture wars. The Fox News star and late-night comedian, who hosts the eponymous show “Gutfeld!” was featured in a splashy Variety cover story Wednesday. Just that fact alone is a victory for conservatives, as the story was fair, far from a hit piece. But Gutfeld’s indisputably superb ratings are yet more proof that the right is ascendant in the culture wars and that more and more Americans are craving comedy and commentary from fresh, independent voices.
