Miffed Canadians are opting out of American vacations as President Donald Trump imposes tariffs on their country to protect his own nation and its people.
The Canadians’ decision not to visit America is having an effect on air and land travel as they push back against the tariffs levied against their nation, the New York Post reported on Saturday. (X) On January 31, the White House confirmed that Trump was preparing to impose fresh tariffs on major U.S. trading partners in an effort to shield American industry and national security, per Breitbart News’s John Carney:

Pretty sure Canada relies on tourism from the US more than we do on theirs. Good luck with that.

Are the “mad as hell” people the same ones who refused to allow through during the pandemic? If so, stay home, American doesn’t want you. If you are a different group of brainless Trump-haters getting paid to protest, stay home. In fact, just stay home.

That is a shame- said no American ever. i like my flag JUST the way it is -and the number 50. Do not make them a liberal state like California. MAYBE a territory. I think you should break up Canada into 8 parts and just add territory to each of our states on the northern border.

They're mad as hell about PDJT trolling Justin Trudeau with talk of being the 51st state... while not paying any attention at all to the fact that their governing coalition has already sold out their sovereignty to China, making Canada effectively an overseas 23rd province of China... with laws permitting Chinese drug lords (and their Mexican counterparts) to bring fentanyl precursors *legally* into the port of Vancouver, manufacture pills in factories in BC that are presently being scaled up to flood North America, and after that, launder profits easily through the Canadian banking system back to China. Nice, going Canada. You dolts should be so lucky as to become the 51st state. Instead, you're heading for a sealed off, militarized border and a trade embargo.

I know I'll get backlash for this but it was not a good idea for Trump to start talking about Canada as the 51st state. Trudeau was on his way out to be replaced by Pierre Poilievre who is a staunch conservative and would have been a natural ally of the US. How would anyone in TX feel if Mexico started talking about making it a Mexican state?

#17: I suggest you do your research to figure out WHY Trump said what he did about Canada.
Maybe then you'll realize it was ABSOLUTELY the most perfect thing Trump could have said to the whining TrueDope!

Trump was doing some masterful trolling with that 51st state comment and it got deep under Trudeau's skin. I have also sworn off tourism up there so please reciprocate by taking that stupid Toronto-promoting ad off our TV channels. I've been there and it's nothing special.

#17: No backlash here. Bombast is a character trait that serves PDJT and his agenda 99.5% of the time. Nobody's perfect, though, so we have to take the 0.5% downside when it happens. In the case of Canada, you may be right, but all indications are that the governing coalition is going to delay elections for up to another 18 months, when they can no longer be put off. PDJT has seen the scourge of fentanyl and the pain it has caused to Americans and he knows that Canada is an emerging narco state that will eclipse even Mexico soon unless it changes course. Sadly, polls in Canada are showing that its public are dumbed down sheep being led to a slaughter by their governing coalition and its Chinese pay masters.

Well that's great news. Every August they descend like a swarm of locusts to the beaches of South Jersey and proceed to empty out the shelves of every supermarket and Walmart and pack their vans full. You don't need to see their Quebec license plates to recognize them. Their rudeness is evident everywhere. And don't even mention the speedos....OMG.

Well the result will be a lot more lodging facilities open next summer in the USA for vacationing Americans. We are going to the East Coast this coming summer to visit with family there, and we were going to travel through Canada from Winnipeg, stop in Ottawa, and then continue East and reenter the USA through a port of entry located along the Maine or New Hampshire border. With the current uncertain political situation we now plan to stay in the USA all the way out and back. I hate to see that situation fester as my grandmother was from Nova Scotia.
