While drinking tree sap does not immediately sound appealing, Canadian producers are hoping that it will be the next must-try soft drink around the world. We have all heard of maple syrup, which is made by boiling down the sap of maple trees to produce a thick, sweet, golden-to-brown coloured syrup that is typically poured over pancakes. What is far less well known is that you can drink the sap itself, which is called maple water. Clear in colour, it contains just 2% natural sugars, so it is only slightly sweet.

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth revealed Sunday on Fox News why the Pentagon will be opening up various positions and called out previous mandates under the Biden-Harris administration that led to the need for “fresh blood.” Since returning to office, President Donald Trump has acted swiftly to deliver on his campaign promise to drastically reduce the bureaucracy and financial waste at the federal level, implementing budget and personnel cuts that have affected agencies such as the CIA and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). On “Fox News Sunday,” host Shannon Bream questioned Hegseth about a “rumored list” ...

Greg Gutfeld is going gangbusters and proving that conservatives have made huge headways in the culture wars. The Fox News star and late-night comedian, who hosts the eponymous show “Gutfeld!” was featured in a splashy Variety cover story Wednesday. Just that fact alone is a victory for conservatives, as the story was fair, far from a hit piece. But Gutfeld’s indisputably superb ratings are yet more proof that the right is ascendant in the culture wars and that more and more Americans are craving comedy and commentary from fresh, independent voices.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has asked the US federal government for $40 billion (£31.6b) in funds to help rebuild areas of Los Angeles devastated by January fires. Newsom sent the request to congressional leaders in a letter on Friday. He said the funds would help both immediate and long-term recovery work. "I'm asking Congress to have the back of the American people and provide disaster funding to help Californians recover and rebuild as soon as possible," he wrote on social media.

Democrats are doubling down on left-wing gender ideology despite their viewpoints being increasingly unpopular with the average American. The vast majority of Americans support reversing the Biden administration’s extreme approach to transgender issues, including barring biological males from participating in women’s sports. But Democratic lawmakers, including those representing congressional districts President Donald Trump won in November, are continuing to push left-wing stances on transgender issues that are seemingly at odds with their own voters.

Last November, Democrat fraudsters bypassed the presidential race and focused instead on the down-ballot races. In Florida, local Democrat candidates received more votes than either Donald Trump or Kamala Harris at the top of the ballot. Something was definitely amiss. For instance, Republican Rocky Rochford was running against incumbent Democrat Kathy Castor for the U.S. House seat in Congressional Race 14 (FL-14). The district straddles Hillsborough and Pinellas counties and includes the cities of Tampa and St. Petersburg. Castor was declared the winner, but Rochford is now contesting the race, claiming voter fraud, primarily by vote-by-mail ballots.

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett disclosed on Friday that she is “rooting for” Canada and Mexico due to their opposition to President Donald Trump’s administration. Trump influenced both Canada and Mexico to pledge on Feb. 3 to bolster their border security efforts with the United States in exchange for a 30-day pause on the 25% tariffs he had announced. Crockett, on “The Breakfast Club,” admitted it is “really wild” that she is supporting these nations over her own, but said she appreciated their defiance of the Trump administration.

Delta Air Lines is offering US$30,000 (£23,792) to each person on board a plane that crash-landed in Toronto on Monday - all of whom survived. As it landed in the Canadian city, the plane skidded along the runway in flames before flipping over and coming to a halt upside down. Passengers described their amazement as most of them walked away without injuries. It remains unclear what caused the incident, which is under investigation.

Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett could not comprehend the idea of the federal government handing out dividends to Americans over the money it has wasted for decades during a Thursday segment on ABC News. President Donald Trump expressed interest in handing out $5,000 dividend checks to every taxpayer with the money saved by the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) downsizing of the federal government. Crockett said she does not believe $5,000 will help out the average American and appeared to ignore the fact that the federal government has wasted billions of dollars in spending for several years.

Aside from praying for their personal safety, our most fervent prayer here at Canada Free Press is that President Donald J. Trump, and DOGE leader Elon Musk, in their ongoing fight against censorship will see proof that above all others, Google is the King of Internet Censorship. As proof of the existential danger Google is to ALL Conservative and Christian news sites, simply Google a topic you want to research. Guaranteed you won’t find any of your favorite news sites if they happen to be conservative—but only ‘Fake News’ sites like CNN, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post, Politico and other left-leaning sites on mighty Google’s first page.

Democratic strategist James Carville criticized ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith in a Wednesday video for floating a presidential run as a Democrat due to the party’s lack of strong candidates. During a Monday episode of “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Smith said that while he currently has no desire to run for president, he would do so as a Democrat if he ever chose to enter politics. Carville, in a YouTube video, said Smith is uninformed on the topic of politics and that he should stick to sports.
