I thought almost everyone looked great but Melania always stands out. Anyone who has ever had to wear high heels for a workday can appreciate the poise it took for her to walk in them for many more hours than that and still look dignified.
Some people might cite Fetterman’s as the most disappointing outfit but for me it was Ketanji Brown-Jackson’s accessory ensemble. The shell encrusted nose bone was missing.

If Fetterman really wanted to get along with Trump, at least he should have worn slacks just this once. Why didn't he freeze?

Letterman showed up in gym shots, sneakers and a hoodie. Jeffries wore sneakers, Besos girlfriend wore a bustier visible under a very open blazer. Lots of gauch folks mixed I in with the elegant.
A UpChuck Schumer wore a bright blue stocking cap...pretty declassse with a suit and topcoat.

Usa looked very elegant, as did Melania, although the gunfighter hat just looked wrong to me, worn so low over her eyes. The Kushner girl was also very elegant in her cape.
Justice Brown looked trashy with a giant chest full of seashells, when the dress code was black robes for the justices.

Fetterman thinks he is very clever with his wardrobe choices. He looks juvenile and disrespectful. If I were a Pennsylvanian I would be embarrassed.
Bezo’s girlfriend looked like a ho.
Neither one of them should have been let in the door.

Fetterman is a slob and a bum. He shouldn't have been admitted.

Mrs. Trump impeccably tailored in the navy blue with matching stilettos. I wasn’t super crazy about her hat but she can carry off high fashion with such grace and elegance every single time!
I loved Ivanka’s cap and entire outfit. Mrs. Vance looked perfect in the pink!!

#4,#13~ First Lady Melania’s hat selection may have been chosen to shield her eyes. As a person with extremely sensitive eyes and needing to wear tinted glasses outdoors in all weather conditions, have noticed Melania frequently wearing sunglasses, including at twilight. As she was approaching her seat at the funeral service for Jimmy Carter, she held a folded pair of sunglasses in her left hand. She wore an identically styled hat for Barron’s outdoor Florida high school graduation ceremony. Considering the variation in weather conditions in Washington, D.C. for any January 20th as Melania’s fashion decisions were being made, not having to be bothered with needing sunglasses for the inauguration may have been resolved by wearing a brimmed hat. Many years ago the style of her hat was very popular and known as a “sailor” hat.

Re #14, excellent point.
And that's why gunfighters wore hats like that sort of brim, low over the eyes, to protect their eyes from the sun. That's why I called it a gunfighter hat, knowing it wasn't actually any sort of cowboy hat....just low over the eyes.
But you may well be right that she has eyes which are sensitive to the bright TV lights, and needs to have some protection. Certainly, standing next to her husband, the bright lights will always be directed their way.
Certainly it was stylish....but I would rather see her beautiful face and eyes. She was lovely at the various balls, her beauty fully on parade.

Usha looked great in pink. Melania's hat drew mixed reactions. Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson wore a necklace that symbolized slavery. (Sigh).
