The Pentagon took down a recently unveiled portrait of retired Gen. Mark Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who butted heads with President Donald Trump following his 2020 election defeat. The portrait of Milley, who served as the 20th chairman of the Joint Chiefs from 2019 to 2023, was unveiled earlier this month. Trump nominated Milley, but their relationship soured until the end of Trump’s first term. As of midafternoon Monday, just hours after Trump was inaugurated for his second term in the White House, the painting was no longer in the spot it was unveiled

Comments:

Why did they spend money on his portrait in the first place?

Ex-Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark "Morbid" Milley..... September, 2021 "Milley has been at the center of a firestorm amid reports he made two calls to Gen. Li Zuocheng of the People’s Liberation Army to assure him that the United States was not going to suddenly go to war with or attack China. Details of the calls were first aired in excerpts from the recently released book “Peril” by Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Robert Costa." "Some U.S. lawmakers have said Milley overstepped his authority, and they have called for President Joe Biden to fire him. Trump blasted Milley as treasonous, called him “a complete nutjob” and said Milley “never told me about calls being made to China.”

‘Tis the season to be…..coffee badging? The new year traditionally marks the time a fresh crop of U.S. corporations requires employees to return to the office after many businesses allowed their staffs to work remotely at the start of the COVID-10 pandemic five years ago. And that means it’s also the season for workers to try to beat the system. What does the term coffee badging mean? Many are “coffee badging,” or swiping their ID badges at the office to record their arrival, staying 30 minutes or so - long enough to greet colleagues and grab a cup of coffee

Hours after Donald Trump was sworn into office as the president, New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy asked him to review federal approval of New York’s congestion pricing program, which costs New Jersey drivers an additional $9 to enter midtown Manhattan. In a letter sent to Trump on Monday, Murphy said, “I welcome any opportunity to work with you and your Administration where we can find common ground.” Murphy then reminded the president that he called congestion pricing “a disaster for NYC” during his campaign. Murphy referred to the new toll as “a disaster for working- and middle-class New Jersey commuters

Peltier was denied parole as recently as July and wasn't eligible for parole again until 2026. He was serving life in prison for the deaths of the agents during a standoff on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. He will transition to home confinement, Biden said in a statement. President Donald Trump was left in disbelief as he was forced to listen to a woke bishop deliver a stunningly negative sermon calling for him to show 'mercy' to illegal immigrants and transgender children. On the first full day of Trump's presidency Marianne Budde, the left-wing Episcopal Bishop of Washington, unleashed a wild lecture claiming trans kids were 'fearing for their lives' due to him being in the Oval Office. Trump sat stony-faced in the front row, next to First Lady Melania Trump, as the prelate told him illegal immigrants were not criminals and he shouldn't deport those with children.

"We have the freedom of speech in Europe and in Germany. Everyone can say what he wants, even if he is a billionaire. And what we do not accept is if this is supporting extreme-right positions," Scholz said in Davos when asked about the incident. Musk's hand gesture during a celebration of President Trump's inauguration drew online comparisons to a Nazi salute. Musk dismissed the criticism as a "tired" attack.
