Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has suffered a significant injury that could have detrimental consequences after her nasty fall from the stairs earlier today.
As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, Pelosi is in the hospital after falling downstairs while traveling in Luxembourg as a part of a bipartisan Congressional delegation to mark the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge.
According to her spokesperson, Ian Krager, Pelosi is receiving treatment from medical professionals in the tiny European country.

At her age, the broken hip usually precedes the fall.

This happened to my grandmother at about the same age. She recovered and lived to be 98. I have no love or respect for Nancy Pelosi but I hope she recovers and then retires.

Worked for BCBS for over a decade. Worked in Medicare Department. Lots of broken hips and many do not end up well. How many times have you heard "Grandma broke her hip and died of pneumonia". I think she needs to stay in Luxembourg as long as it takes if not longer. Nice place to retire (if you live). Shame on me, I do not want her to die. But like FJB I just want her to go away and leave us alone.

Ooops. At 84, falling-and-breaking-one's-hip is almost always ... bad, really bad. She'll have to return on a medical flight I guess. Gotta watch out for the blood clots.
Of course, she's got ice in her veins, a mean and tough disposition. We may find out this isn't really a broken hip, but the Luxembourgians had never seen a skeletal frame made out of barbed wire.
I wish Mom hadn't taught me good manners, otherwise I'd say what I'm really thinking about this conniving and dishonest and crooked woman.

At her age, a broken hip is a grievous injury, probably not recoverable. Elderly people who suffer this type of injury become invalids, and their injuries usually hasten their deaths. Whether she likes it or not, Pelosi probably needs to retire right now.

One in three people over 50 who sustain a hip fracture are dead in a year or less. Recovery will take months, if even moderately successful. Walking unassisted will be a thing of the past. She won’t be physically able to return to Congress.
Pelosi is through.

Did she fall and break a hip or did she break a hip and fall?
My mother did one of those two @ 94. Four screws and six weeks later she was right back up again

At that age, most often the sequence is "hip breaks, person falls" not "person falls, hip breaks". But, either way, this is all too often a death sentence. Somehow a broken bone at this age seems to be what often pushes a person over the edge. I saw it in my FIL, a comparatively minor upper arm fracture, barely a crack, really, and a few days later he was far, far less capable than he had been and dead a few weeks after that.
I don't necessarily wish her ill, but she has caused a lot of grief to the whole country. I at least hope that she retires, so stops harming the country.

Yet another reason why people her age should be retired. You never know when a health incident is going to happen. She recently filed paperwork to run for re-election again in 2026. My guess is she will try to hang onto power to the bitter end - like Ginsburg.

Was she wearing high heels? I'm a decade younger than she is but I gave up my heels several years ago even though it killed me to do it. I realized I had to dress for the age I am, not the age I wish I was. Besides, balance is especially important as we age and high heels aren't conducive to balance. Gosh, her plans for '26 may have to change. How sad. s/

I had a relative who fell and broke her hip at age 79. There were other factors such as alcoholism and COPD and she was gone in about 10 days. Nancy’s alcoholism is going to be a factor for her too.

I broke my pelvis in four places in early August, bicycle accident, and many more injuries. I'm in my early 70s, now walking pretty well, stopped using a cane a month ago. I'm taking PT to build my strength back. Not the same as a broken hip, but somewhat similar.
I wonder if a hip replacement is going to be the best way out. But, her docs will decide. Probably spend a few days getting her stabilized and then fly home for treatment.

It’s probably going to be pretty hard for the Democrats to blame that broken hip on Trump, but since she was on a so-called bipartisan junket were there any wimpy Republicans anywhere near her when she fell down that flight of stairs?

Like Pappy Poopy Pants, instead of stepping down like a moral person would, she keeps at until she falls down. The "ducal staircase" indeed.
Could her days of grasping and self enrichment at the expense of the nation be over? Will her children inherit her rolodex and congressional seat? Will Trump be able to rip the Peelousey family out by the roots after their multigenerational scam?

Remember that, L-Dotters - - don't count on botox to save you - - when you're flying head-over-heels down a marble staircase.

There are wonderful parables from medieval Persia featuring a character named "Nasruddin." Stay with this until the end, and you will see its relevance to Pelosi:
Nasruddin lived in a village where everyone was strictly vegetarian. A man in the village, however, really wanted to eat some chicken. But he didn't want to kill it himself. So he hired Nasruddin, telling him "take the chicken where no one sees and kill it."
So Nasruddin heads out with the chicken under his arm and disappears behind a big rock. The man thinks "Good. Now he is killing the chicken."
But after a couple of minutes, Nasaruddin appears again with the live chicken under his arm, and disappears behind a big tree. The man thinks "Okaaay...."
But Nasruddin appears again with the live chicken in under his arm, and starts to head toward a bush. But the man has had enough. He calls Nasruddin in.
"I told you take the chicken where no one sees and kill it."
Nasruddin says, "Yes, but wherever I go, the chicken sees."
All these corrupt and evil people in Washington hide their misdeeds behind a big rock. But even if nobody finds them out, the chicken, their conscience, sees.
That is why so many of them, like Pelosi, are alcoholic. Or, like Mitch McConnell, addicted to drugs. The chicken's look is unbearable.
