San Diego County is set to introduce 'radical' new sanctuary laws to avoid cooperation with ICE and other federal immigration authorities.
The laws are seen as direct defiance toward Donald Trump and his border czar, Tom Homan, who has singled out San Diego for its massive illegal migrant problems amid plans of mass deportation.
However, the San Diego sheriff on Tuesday defied a new policy to limit cooperation.
San Diego County supervisors voted to prohibit its sheriff's department from working with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement on the federal agency's enforcement of civil immigration laws, including those that allow for deportations.

Republicans shouldn't be fighting these folks who are so receptive to taking care of the undocumented aliens. The deportees should be given a choice: a ticket back to where they came from, or whatever country will take them, or a ticket to the California city of their choice. Other sanctuary cities such as Denver could also be on the list of available one-way tickets. This accomplishes multiple good things: there will be no need for a massive encampment in Texas, which will lead to endless comparisons to the Nazi's concentration camps, and eventually the sanctuary cities will agree to cooperate with the Federal government and actually help to organize a humane and generally agreeable method of getting these folks back home or wherever they want to go. This saves the Feds a lot of money, and the MSM will not dare to criticize the treatment the undocumented will receive in the sanctuary cities. Win-win all around.

Then I guess some of us San Diegans will have to go undercover and help ICE.
Modern-day Maquis.

In his radio days, Roger Hedgecock would call San Diego "America's finest city" on air. It was true then, but no more. Shame. Shame. Shame.

I expect that San Diego is going to regret this move.

Flood them. As I understand it, it can take time/resources to deport someone back to their homeland. But it takes almost nothing to put them on a bus and banish them to SD while they await their hearing. Flood the CA cities will all the people in the process of being deported.

We did not vote for this, my vote hasn't counted in years, its 100% left wing dictatorship. Good for the sheriff.

I visited someone I knew in San Diego this summer. The place is blanketed with, ah, "migrants" - ILLEGALS.

Once upon a time it was wonderful in S.D. Now look at it. Glad I left.

FWIW:
Shortly after, Sheriff Kelly Martinez said the board does not set set policy for the sheriff, who, like the supervisors, is an elected official. She said she wouldn't honor the new policy.

Don't take this as a done deal. I guarantee that this is going to create massive push back in San Diego. Maybe this kind of leftist excess was necessary to create the flashpoint for people to stand up and say "Enough!"

Fine. But under two conditions:
1. Said migrants must remain in San Diego County.
2. No federal funds shall be used or requested for care and housing of said migrants.

Warm up the buses and reroute them to San Diego. After several thousand illegals, they will get the message, much like the Mayor of NYC did.

A couple of years ago in Tuscon, AZ, we had a personable black Uber driver who had moved his family from San Diego. He said they couldn't make it with both he and his wife working. California is becoming unlivable for the middle class.

San Diego County is very conservative. The City has an unfortunate habit of electing Pete Buttigiegs and Rachel Maddows.

Just teeing up a hanging fastball for Tom Homan to knock out of the stadium. We will see how much county officials and others like the inside of a federal gray bar hotel.
