An unknown disease has killed 143 people in the Congo in an outbreak that has alarmed health officials and the World Health Organization. Patients suffered from flu-like symptoms, including a high fever and severe headache, local officials say, with women and children reported to be most seriously affected. Deaths are being recorded in Kwango province, in the Southwest of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and on its border with Angola. (Snip) Officials say the situation is 'extremely worrying' and that the death toll is rising rapidly. On November 25, they had reported 67 deaths from the disease. Patients

On the border with Angola. Old Joe should be quarantined for the next 6 weeks just to be safe.

Congo is the territory of the Jameson's mamba, one of the four species of African mambas. All are deadly. Central Africa isn't the best place to be born if you're fighting plague, plaguelike diseases, snakebite, or anything that requires civilization and an energy rich infrastructure to treat. If John Kerry and Al Gore get their way, sub-Saharan Africa will never have cheap energy, and Africans will die. That's the point. American green leftists are among the most misanthropic beings ever born.

The headline says unknown disease but then goes on to blame Monkey Pox and bats. Which is it? Congo has a totally different lifestyle than Europe and the US/Canada. The illness might not spread here due to the way people live (modern conveniences, not a lot of bats interacting with people). While it could come here (like any illness), the World Health Organization is viewed by many people as a scare mongering, money grabbing UN group more interested in controlling people than people's health.

The professional hunter (hunting guide) went after a black mamba when we were hunting in South Africa. When I grabbed my. 44 revolver and joined in he warned that the snake could be 8 ft long or more, very deadly and would likely attack. We tracked it until it went into a termite mound, and we gave up. He said that they were always shot on sight.

Data from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) shows that Russia has gained almost six times as much territory in 2024 as it did in 2023, and is advancing towards key Ukrainian logistical hubs in the eastern Donbas region. Meanwhile, Ukraine's surprise incursion into Russia's Kursk region is faltering. Russian troops have pushed Kyiv's offensive backwards. The easing of restrictions would allow Kyiv to use the Army Tactical Missile System, or ATACMS, to hit targets inside Russia. The move also comes as some 10,000 North Korean troops were sent to Kursk near Ukraine's northern border to help Russian forces retake territory. The White House National Security Council declined to
