OAKLAND, Calif. - A recent poll showed that Vice President Kamala Harris could have a strong advantage if she chooses to run for governor of California in 2026 when Gov. Gavin Newsom’s term ends. The survey, carried out by the University of California, Berkeley's Institute of Governmental Studies and co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Times, indicated that nearly half of the 4,838 participants might support Harris in a potential gubernatorial bid. The Times reported that Harris's support would mostly come from Democratic voters, with 72% indicating they would be very or somewhat likely to back her for governor. In contrast

I'm fine with it as long as she never leaves California. Although I do feel bad for all the residents who disagree with the politics but feel the must stay in that state for one reason or another.

I didn't think California's government couldn't get any worse. Evidently, it can.

how many people realize that every regulation/tax that Kalifornika places on manufacturing, transportation, labor, etc costs the rest of us due to interstate commerce?
It is taxation without representation.

Harris gets a consolation prize. Californians on the other hand get a booby prize.
Thank you so much, Willie Brown.

I lived in California for 5 years, and it was the crime and politics that drove me out. I can tell you, if you drive one hour inland, California is a completely different state. San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego drive 100% of the state's policy. It's like New York, only bigger. NY is nothing like NYC.

It's been painful over the past several decades to watch California descend into a political and cultural suicide. In my younger days I lived and traveled all over the state, and there wasn't any part of it that I didn't really love--even the southern deserts. But dirty politics has ruined all that, alas!

Stupid voters destroying a once great state is the root cause for why so many people like me left. They deserve everything they vote for.
If L had the option I would have changed my name to "happy ex-Californian".

I say go for it. Kackles can do to Kalifornia what she would have done to the entire US. Kalifornians will suffer the konsequences and the rest of the country will heave a huge sigh of relief seeing the huge bullet we dodged.

Katie Porter would eat her lunch in any debate.
The only way for the GOP to have any gains in the state will be to openly admit that abortion is a dead issue since CA amended the state Constitution providing for unlimited and no restrictions on abortion.
They need to realize this and blunt the attacks used by Democrats into thinking it could be taken away any moment which would free up people to vote for the other issues in the State.
It no longer matters if you're pro-life since that position won't alter any access to an abortion. It's literally just your viewpoint now.
#8 has a good point on how all of the regulations from CA add costs to everyone else in the country.

I may be going against the majority thinking here but I have a gut feeling that she can't win the governor's position. An attractive Dem candidate just might beat her in the primary. I would like to think that a good Republican could beat her in the general election but that's probably a forlorn hope. She just needs to go away and quit trying to be a factor in the destruction of the US.

California, take Kamala and good riddance. BTW, I am tired of Ca. stealing 7 House seats with all your election fraud, along with a long list of other things. One being you think you can tax anyone that passed through your state on the way somewhere else.

Fast forward to 2027, when CA desperately needs a federal bailout.
Harris: "Mr. President, I need $500B to balance my budget."
Trump: "Hold a bake sale. Perhaps your celeb buddies can help. Nice talking to you Kamala."
