Expect the D.C. Administrative State to

We do not live in anything resembling the nation that was envisioned by our Founders, and for the first time in modern American history, we seem to have reached a consensus in recognizing that fact. This was just dramatically evidenced in a presidential election, in which a broad coalition of voters from the political left and right voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, who promised to create a “government efficiency commission” to be headed by Elon Musk. How a “government efficiency commission” could become the emphatic demand of a populace that I watched vote for an unquestionable expansion of the federal government during the Obama years is a sobering thing.

Comments:

I learned something today. The Affordable Care Act, among other 'directives', included “.....tooth-level surveillance.”

Trump’s legacy of his first term is the mostly good job of appointing conservative candidates for the Supreme Court that could survive the Senate confirmation process. I’m predicting the legacy of his second term will be his appointment to cabinet positions of citizens who have been attacked by an out-of-control federal bureaucracy. May they root out the weasels they seek!

I wouldn't be surprised if they threw their own insurrection on January 6, 2025 since they have a lot of experience planning this type of event. And what about terrorists and Chinese men coming into the country via the border? Are they here to perform a service for the biden "administration"? The DS is panicked and DESPERATE right now so I don't think anything is off the table for them to attempt ~ including another attempt on PDJT's life. Nothing they will try will be successful but we do need to keep our country and PDJT in our prayers.

#2, first there is only 1 remedy for Treason, and that is death, so we need to stop throwing that word around so casually. With some of the recent Court rulings I think much of the administrative state will be up against it with this new administration.

... in THEORY " The Government" is there to serve the people...unfortunately, throughout the World ( not just here) reality has been perverted ...and "The Government" has become bloated...and largely unaccountable ( as the number of non-elected appointees is HUGE) ...and it believes it exists to RULE OVER their "subjects " ...and will try to destroy any who resist.

I have no doubt the agency government will try ANYTHING to survive but they face an enormous problem. The Conservative SCOTUS of the US has ruled that such agencies have NO authority beyond what legislation has specifically granted them. Further, they have ruled that the President, operating within the Constitution and law is FULLY IN CHARGE of the Executive branch of government, which includes all the agencies. SO, if "the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) were “set up by a Congress that didn’t identify a single policy goal for these agencies and ‘provided no standards whatsoever’ for their conduct.", these agencies have NO standing in law to do anything and the President is within his rights to completely define he limits of their power. If OSHA wants to fine someone, what is the legal basis for their action? There is none. I suspect that a LOT of the federal government operates this way, without legal authority. The various legislatures created this abominable creature so that they could force actions but not be held accountable. That time is over. If the law doesn't approve it, it can't be done. It will take time to challenge and unwind decades of illegal actions. People will have to bring suit and the courts will have to review and rule. Some will go to the SCOTUS which will reiterate their standing to apply to the specific case. As more rulings pile up, decisions with teeth will come out of lower courts backing up SCOTUS decisions. Maybe some agencies with Trump's people in charge will start dropping their own rulings as they see they don't have a leg to stand on. Unfortunately, that may yield some undesirable results. Not all agency actions are unjustified. However, the legislature and President Trump can create limited law to address egregious issues. Once the readjustment happens and the tone shifts, a lot of the threat that the government has wielded will be gone. Politicians that "rely upon unelected and unaccountable bureaucrats to grow their power and influence in government" will find themselves powerless and not able to hide in the shadows. It they want to do something, they will have to vote on it and be held accountable for their votes. A lot of the wheeling and dealing that was done with agencies will vanish and the complexity of government will be reduced. There will be less favors to be bought because there will be no mechanism to fulfill them. There could be a radically different government in a few years. In fact it could be called "fundamental transformation". It won't be as BO envisioned it, but he and his underhanded actions certainly triggered the resistance that can lead to a renewed America.

The Deep State will squeal like stuck pigs on their way out the door but it takes courage to fight to defend yourself, something they lack. Barack Obama has already disappeared, Hillary and Pelosi are uncharacteristically silent and the attack dogs, once protected by the DOJ, are muzzled. Their continued operation depended upon another puppet being in the White House and she could not cackle her way across the finish line.

In reality, the Trump administration has only two years to get things done. The Republicans lost House seats in the recent election and are barely in control in both houses of Congress. As such, it is likely that the off season election will return some measure of control back to the Dems. Reform cannot simply be done by Executive Order, as the court challenges will be massive and lengthy. They have to create an environment where the current government employees don't want to stay. Moving parts of the government to solid red states is a good start. No more working from home. No more gold plated pensions and benefits.

“The View” doesn’t want anyone to sue. The co-hosts of the controversial ABC talk show were forced to issue four “legal notes” during Friday’s broadcast after they discussed allegations leveled at several of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees. The legal notes — which are disclaimers provided by the subjects’ lawyers — pertained to remarks made on-air by the show’s stars Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, Sunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin. During a segment discussing George Santos, Behar brought up the former congressman’s 23 criminal charges, including wire fraud.

The left’s autopsy of its very predictable electoral defeat has become a comedy show. Joe Scarborough is on bended knee, licking the boots of an incoming president he has likened to Hitler. Nancy Pelosi, who first defended Biden’s mental capacity before coldly whacking him, is now blaming him for Kamala Harris’s loss. Activist “journalists” claim that Harris ran a “perfect” campaign and blame voters “who gave up on democracy.” Self-preening typifies much of what’s wrong with the contemporary American left. It’s a culture driven by its own self-exaltation and social credit scores rather than self-examination. Moral condescension and virtue signaling are its chief currency.

Los Angeles County voters have chosen to pass Measure A, which will raise sales taxes by a quarter of a percent to fund homeless services. The referendum, which seemed in doubt until recently, passed with 57% support. CalMatters.org reported (original emphasis): Measure A, which is leading in the ballots counted thus far, would end the county’s existing quarter-cent sales tax for homelessness that was scheduled to expire in 2027 and replace it with a half-cent tax that would begin immediately and continue in perpetuity. That new tax is expected to raise $1 billion a year, and since it has no sunset,
