Olympic boxing sunk to a new low last week. An Algerian boxer with XY chromosomes – the ordinary definition of “male” – and commensurate male testosterone levels – beat up a woman in front of thousands of cheering spectators.
The woman who was beat up had to quit 46 seconds into the match, apparently with a broken nose. In tears, she said in her native Italian “not fair, not fair” and explained afterward that she’d “never been hit so hard in my life.”
The XY boxer was declared the winner. Yesterday, the XY boxer won again in a decision where all three judges favored the XY boxer in all three rounds

XY Chromosomes you fight and compete with the boys. No boys in girls' sports. Period.

It should be prohibited, physically if necessary. It should have started with that "Lia Thomas" mutant.
Maybe an angry Dad or Grandad of an injured (or killed) woman athlete will do what needs to be done.

The IOC's statement explicitly stated that the Algerian was "born a woman." but never mentioned any XY chromosome test. It is possible for persons with XY chromosomes to never develop male genitalia due to "intersex condition."
This is very rare and is due to Swyer syndrome (XY gonadal dysgenesis): The SRY gene on the Y chromosome doesn't function properly, leading to female external development.
Another cause is Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome (CAIS): The body cannot respond to androgens, resulting in female external development despite XY chromosomes.
So, society bases gender on external genitalia formation rather than chromosomal type, which seems unscientific. It would make more sense to classify him as a deformed male than a superwoman with male muscles and hormone levels. Classifying him as a woman for athletic competitions where such attributes are decisive in the outcome is both unfair and unsafe.

I'm still waiting for a significant number of women athletes or any women, to raise as much fuss over this as they do about equality. If bio women would refuse to compete against bio males they could force the issue.
BUT then they would have to recognize men and women ARE built differently.

I have seen the most ludicrous comments posted on social media as justification for this situation. The most moronic comment was from a woman who said that the Algerian boxer was born with XY chromosomes, which meant he had “both,” so he could pick which ones he wanted to identify with. I kindly (no, really!) educated her on the realities of human genetics.

It’s easy, as in past times, biological men should be prohibited from participating in woman’s sports activities!

Wonder what would happen if Michael Phelps announced that he is a woman and wants to swim 0n the women's swim team? Would that be allowed or fair? I don't think so !!!!!!!

All of this is just talk--logical talk, admittedly. But none of this talk makes any difference until the Olympic Committee pays a price for these insensitive and insulting practices. At a minimum, female boxers should refuse to enter and participate against male competitors, no matter that their passports say they're female.

How about having 3 categories -- male and female (genetically verified via blood test) and open? That might at least be more likely to be fair.

This whole thing started 50 years ago with Dr. "Renee" Richards. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ren%C3%A9e_Richards)
A mediocre male tennis pro, HE admitted having transexual surgery in order to take advantage of his greater male strength and endurance to dominate female opponents. In 1976, he was disqualified by the genetic testing rules of the United States Tennis Association, but the New York Supreme Court ruled in his favor, and the floodgates were opened. The whole thing could have been quashed 50 years ago!

My understanding is that the Algerian is a person who was born with female reproductive organs. She has the XY chromosomes. Biologically she is a woman who has an chromosome anomaly. She deserves some understanding. She is not some female Soviet era athlete that has been pumped up with testosterone as in days gone by.

Where is the NOW (National Organization of Women, who Rush used to affectionately tease as the 'NAGS' - National Association of Gals) in all this? They used to be media darlings, but we never hear from them anymore.
If the government -as the Sniffer administration is trying to do- force 'males who identify as female' to be admitted into women's sports -and locker rooms- under Title Nine, then what is the reason to keep Title Nine?
If the players in the WMBA ever start to be paid the amount of money that they are demanding, then I expect it will not be long before some fourth-rate college male basketball players 'identify as female' and drive all the 'L' 's (the 'L' in LGBTQ++++ etc. etc. etc.) out of the league.

Simple, XX or XY. Getting retrofitted with different junk doesn't change the chromosomes. Once XX, always XX. Once XY, always XY.
