The next time you call and get the answering menu, and no person, you will fear AI a lot less. Actually, fyi, that is not what I called about.

This article ignores the very real record of election interference by DHS and CISA. Moreover, voting machines and other computerized election infrastructure are curiously missing from the article's inventory of election year processes threatened by AI.

The comment by konocti95 raises a valid point. Having used LLMs to generate content myself, I've developed an ear for what these AI models generate. This article contains many generalities and vagaries, suggesting it may have been generated by ChatGPT and lightly edited. It lacks any grammatical or idiosyncratic language that a real author might inject. As far as the use of AI goes, it appears most of the fear-mongering is just revisiting the gaslighting from the 2016 election that the Russians somehow tipped the scales for Trump. They seem to be setting up Biden's defeat for another round of BS conspiracy theories. The whole discussion is a joke since none of these people ever propose that we adopt a system of credible voter ID credentials that would preclude the kind of shenanigans that have plagued elections since universal mail-in ballots without signature verification became the norm.

This AI article contradicts itself like the majority of them do. How can it be AI when the output depends solely upon what the programmer and database loader told it to do. The basic logic says match this with this and filter out that. How is that intelligence unless you are working with democrats? AI does not think, it simply reads and compares. Your job is safe for at least another hundred years.

I guess if you never knew the truth you could never recognize a lie - which is the problem with too many people in this country the uneducated and undereducated who follow any dialogue that benefits them and persecutes others have led a life of luxury and bliss because of the hard working segment of the populace who "do the right thing", "mind their own business" and "obey the laws that made our country the most civil society in the history of mankind" and yet, what they have is not enough because like any terrorist .... their demands can, and will, never be met

Behind every cybersecurity threat is a human being. How about if our efforts include enhancing our abilities to determine who the culprits are and exacting severe penalties? As it stands, people who make mischief in cyberspace generally get away with murder.

The city declared a public health emergency following an outbreak in a single-room occupancy hotel in Long Beach. A tuberculosis outbreak among residents of a single-room occupancy hotel in Long Beach has left one person dead and led to the hospitalizations of nine others, prompting the declaration of a public health emergency, city officials said Thursday. The city Department of Health and Human Services insists the risk of exposure to the general public is low, with the outbreak restricted to a "distinct population" of people with "significant barriers to care, including homelessness and housing insecurity, mental illness, substance abuse and serious medical comorbidities."

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A shootout that killed four law enforcement officers and wounded four others in North Carolina began as officers approached a home to serve a warrant for a felon wanted for possessing a firearm, police said. Some of the officers who rushed to the Charlotte neighborhood Monday afternoon to rescue the first wave of downed officers were wounded as a second shooter began firing on them after they killed the wanted man, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Johnny Jennings said. It was the deadliest day for U.S. law enforcement in one incident since five officers were killed by a sniper during a protest in Dallas in 2016.

Maame Djondo didn’t misspell a single word during Saturday’s Knights of Columbus spelling bee. And it’s a good thing too, because a single word is all she got. In fact, Djondo’s word — “cancel” — was the only word spelled on Saturday morning, as she was the only participant in the event. Once drawing as many as a dozen students, Lansing Knights of Columbus #3450 has hosted a spelling bee for decades, drawing local spellers in grades 5–8. However, the pandemic, combined with the closure of St. Ann School, has resulted in a lower turnout in recent years, said organizers. Last year’s bee drew three participants

The Libertarian Party on Sunday nominated party activist Chase Oliver for president, rejecting former President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after they each spoke at the party’s convention. Third parties have rarely been competitive in U.S. presidential elections and the Libertarian candidate four years ago won 1% of the vote. But the party’s decision is getting more attention this year due to the rematch between Trump and Democratic President Joe Biden, which could hinge again on small vote margins in a handful of contested states. “We did it! I am officially the presidential nominee,” Oliver posted Sunday on X, formerly Twitter. “It’s time to unify and move forward for liberty.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that a “tragic mistake” was made in an Israeli strike in the southern Gaza city of Rafah that set fire to a camp housing displaced Palestinians and, according to local officials, killed at least 45 people. The strike only added to the surging international criticism Israel has faced over its war with Hamas, with even its closest allies expressing outrage at civilian deaths. Israel insists it adheres to international law even as it faces scrutiny in the world’s top courts, one of which last week demanded that it halt the offensive in Rafah.
