Self-described “Somalian pirate,” influencer Johnny Somali, a.k.a. Ismael Ramsey Khalid, discovered on Sunday that Israeli police don’t put up with bad behavior from social media divas. The controversial attention seeker was hosting a livestream from Israel when a group of officers arrived on-scene. Eyeing one female officer, Somali played a disrespectful tough guy for his audience. “Oh, you’re a bad b**ch,” he shouted at her. “I swear to god. You’re a bad b**ch. I’ll take you to dinner, I swear to god, I’ll change your life. I’ll change your life, I promise you. You’re a bad b**ch right here. I’ll change your life, baby girl.

I've been watching some of these "influencers" since I heard the term about a year ago. There are more worthless people in the world, but not many. Who would watch such a person in hopes of being influenced? In what way do they offer influence to weak people who cant decide things for themselves? I never liked the world of pop culture much. It just gets dumber and dumber.

Not even a No. 1 seed — and a 7-footer to defend Donovan Clingan — could prevent Connecticut from repeating as national champions. And with their 75-60 win Monday night in Phoenix against Zach Edey and Purdue, the Huskies became the first program since Billy Donovan’s Florida teams in 2006 and 2007 to win consecutive titles. It wasn’t close by the end of the second half, either. The Huskies took a 15-point lead — expanding the six-point advantage they’d build by halftime — with seven minutes remaining, using a balanced offense, led by Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle, to take control of the game.

Panelists on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” fretted over the “low drama” campaign of former President Donald Trump Monday, comparing his prior electoral bids to “a soap opera.” Co-host Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski brought Vanity Fair writer Gabriel Sherman to discuss his article, “Inside the Terrifyingly Competent Trump 2024 Campaign,” which was published Thursday on the magazine’s website, to discuss Trump’s third run for the White House. Sherman noted that the stakes for Trump were high. “The big story in 2016 and to some extent 2020, was that his campaign was a soap opera. It was clashing personalities, it was nonstop drama,” Sherman told Brzezinski and Scarborough.

The nation’s 42nd president’s new book “Citizen: My Life After the White House” is set to be released in November after the election and should be a real page-turner although some social media users aren’t sold that it will be a truly in-depth account from the man who once wagged his finger in Americans’ faces and insisted “I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky.” “My last 23 years have been fascinating, filled with family life and foundation work, with heroes and heartbreak.

Marius Oprea, 38, was handed 75 months in a federal prison for using the devices to skim money from the accounts by creating counterfeit debit cards in the names of welfare program enrollees, the Justice Department announced in an April 1 press release. United States District Judge Maame Ewusi-Mensah Frimpong handed down the sentence on March 29 and ordered Oprea to pay $28,974 in restitution. Last June, the convicted thief pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit bank fraud,

[Tweet, video] “We never know how our animals are going to react because they are wild,” said Ann Knutson, a zoological manager of birds at the Dallas Zoo, told the Dallas Morning News. As the sky went dark, gorillas and giraffes were seen running to their indoor habitats while birds headed to their evening nests and suddenly “grew quiet.”

The Most Important Election in American History? 2 replies

We’ve had some important presidential elections in American history, of course. The election of 1800 decelerated the Federalists’ attempt to expand the federal government. 1828 led to increased democracy. James K. Polk’s election in 1844 allowed for the entrance of Texas into the United States. 1860 was perhaps the most important election we’ve ever had because it preceded our tragic internecine war. And there have been other important elections as well. 1912, 1932, 1960, 1980 come to mind. But this year might be the most important election in our nation’s history. The ideological division in America is the greatest it has ever been—

Hamas has, in an unsurprising development for the barbaric terrorists, rejected another ceasefire proposal — again demonstrating its refusal to lay down arms or exchange innocent hostages for its members held by Israel. After rejecting multiple ceasefire proposals since December, Hamas again on Monday torpedoed the latest round of talks with Israel in Cairo being mediated by the Egyptians, Qataris, and CIA Director William Burns. Meanwhile, in the U.S., the useful idiots sympathetic to Hamas' end goal of wiping out Israel continue chanting "CEASEFIRE NOW" to allow the terrorists to reconstitute and someday launch another devastating attack — even as Hamas rejects each new ceasefire offer put before them.

Over the past few years the term "Deaths of Despair" has become all too common. It's not a new term; after the fall of the Soviet Union, the already poor state of Russians' health deteriorated and lifespans declined. The same effect has been seen in places where social cohesion and support structures deteriorated for some reason or another. And, not that many people know it, it was known in public health circles (before they conveniently forgot) that excessive "Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions" (NPIs) to address a public health crisis caused serious health problems that often were worse than the disease.
