Greene: Earthquakes and eclipses a sign

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) said recent earthquakes and a coming eclipse are “strong signs” from God that America needs to “repent,” shortly after tremors shook the New York City region Friday. “God is sending America strong signs to tell us to repent. Earthquakes and eclipses and many more things to come. I pray that our country listens,” Greene said Friday in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

Is MTG off her meds? After a commendable effort to ditch the ditziness and become a reliable spokesman for conservatism, of late she has veered into paranoia (Speaker Johnson is being blackmailed) and now End of Days nuttiness. Take a chill pilll, Margorie, and come back to your senses. We need you.

MTG needs to stick to the things she can change and with the tools she possesses to make those changes. This kind of thing reduces her capacity to be heard by those sitting on the fence. As for earthquakes... Jesus does state earthquakes as being a sign. Eclipses? That's just what planets, suns and moons do from time to time with mathematical precision regardless of who is doing what to whom and where.

What a load of baloney. There have always been earthquake, hurricanes, eclipses (I've seen three so far), and don't forget there used to be one big land mass on earth before they broke away over millions of years. They're called continents. Man, and the bible, has zero to do with all of them.

So if you are a rat you can say literally ANYTHING, Russian urine tapes, horse paste, etc., but she can't say this messed up country ought to consider being a touch humble and think about getting right with God. Considering where we are and how far we drifted as a country and culture, any time is a good time to think about moral clarity. Eclipses happen all the time, but funny thing is they are so magnificent that even blowhards and skeptics understand how small they are in the great scheme of things. And an earthquake in NYC is a big deal since it is unusual. Affecting less and less people, but still alarming to people there.

Everything can be taken as a call from God to repent. Jesus instructed disciples to lead lives of continual repentance. Rather than being preoccupied with noticing the end coming, just be ready all the time, and thereby be at peace with respect to the coming of the end. That's Jesus' main message in those passages of the Gospel.

I felt that earthquake all the way in Maryland!🫨 Added "experience an earthquake" to my bucket list. I already have "survived a direct hit from a tornado" in Minnesota. As far as earthquakes go, they happen around the globe 365,24/7. I've been following the ongoing volcanic & earthquake events in Iceland. Very interesting since they are all happening in real time.

For what it's worth: the path of the eclipse is 'supposed' to pass over 7 cities/towns named "Nineveh" in the US. Fact check sites are divided over whether this is true or not. It's surprising to me that people would name their towns "Nineveh" in the first place.

G_d does use the heavens for signs. G_d created time and he plans thousands of years into the future with absolute precision. No one can fathom or understand an immortal omnipresent omnipotent entity with a three pound brain. That said, there have been plenty of signs, events and warnings to repent and turn back to G_d. As our culture gets more secular and more immoral, our blessings and prosperity decreases. But don't turn back to the creator for material stuff, turn back to do his bidding. And that ends today's 60 second sermon.

Interesting...the eclipse will come 6 years 6 months and 6 days after the last one and will cross over 7 cities named Ninevah... 6 When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust. 7 This is the proclamation the King issued in Nineveh: Jonah 3:6-8 “By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink. 8 But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call urgently on God. Let them give up their evil ways and their violence.

#20~ “We could all use a little more churching up around here...” / Agree. Reading the dismissive, negative, sarcastic comments about Representative Green’s concern that Friday’s earthquake and the forthcoming eclipse on Monday as being signs from God to repent has been a sad and disappointing revelation raising the question of whether people have no knowledge of what is written in Scripture or do not believe what is written in Scripture. No one knows the day or hour of the “end time” but Scripture does provide numerous passages about the “end times” and “signs” of the end times that include weather conditions (Luke 21 among others). From that perspective Representative Green deserves some credibility; however, while it may not be unreasonable to be skeptical about these two occurrences being specific “signs” it would be appropriate to consider this point in history and the variety and magnitude of decadent/depraved indulgences globally available to society that did not exist before due to state-of-the-art technology—such as tampering with God’s created order, including the human body. “… what the situation will be like in the world before the Lord returns, namely, Christ will be despised, and the preachers of the Gospel will be regarded as fools.” (Martin Luther, 1520)

Following The Mark Steyn Caribbean Cruise, I am now on terra firma - as are Trump's poll numbers, to a degree not seen either in 2020 or 2016. On the other hand, given the Deep State thumb on the scale in both 2016 ("Crossfire Hurricane") and 2020 (fifty-seven heads of the "intelligence community" assure us that Hunter Biden's laptop is "Russian disinformation"), no prudent person would bet on a free and fair election in November - especially after yesterday's Supreme Court intervention. Most coverage of Friday's verdict from a Manhattan courthouse has focused on the $350 million plus that rogue judge Arthur F Engoron has demanded Trump cough up - for a "crime" which has no known victims and no identifiable proceeds. Confiscating (with interest) close to half-a-billion dollars for no good reason is certainly unusual, even by the standards of US "justice".

In our initial report on this new war yesterday, we published a video showing a terrified young lady being abducted by Hamas "soldiers" from an Israeli music festival. She was delivered to Gaza. Of the nearly 12 million students across the country, nearly 300 girls wore the long Islamic garment and were asked to change into something else. The vast majority complied and were allowed to return to class, however, 67 did not and were subsequently sent home.

The cost of the Chandrayaan-3 mission was about US$75 million, which, as John pointed out, is less than the cost of the Barbie movie.

One of the things that frustrated me about Trump’s (first?) term was his seeming complete indifference to #TheResistance that manifested before he even took office. Unelected bureaucrats working in the ridiculously invasive executive branch’s many agencies, publicly declared war on him, and he . . . well, he did nothing. Until the final year of his presidency when he seemed to finally take aim at the problem in his own branch of government–we can call it the deep state, the resistance, the entrenched bureaucrats who oversee far too much policy in America and who are, apparently, answerable to no one.
