RINO Representative Mike Gallagher (WI) announced ten days ago that he will exit the House as early as next month.
Gallagher, who is currently serving as the chairman of the Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party, last month announced that he will not seek reelection.
Instead of serving out the rest of his term, Gallagher will retire early leaving the GOP with a one-vote majority!
But it’s worse than that. Gallagher announced he will leave in mid-April. If Gallagher would have left before April 9th he would have triggered a special election in his district. Because he is leaving after April 9th but still in April,

Does Gallagher realize that his 15 mins of fame/infamy will be over when he leaves?

Gallagher is a coward who is betraying the trust that Republican voters placed in his to do his job for his full term as implied by running for office. Now he leaves them unrepresented in Congress and unable to have a replacement until January 2025. All because he is putting his personal dislike for Trump over his responsibilities.

As all L-Dotters who have visited this forum since its inception know - - I'm not usually wrong about any political issues - - or any political individuals. In fact - - I'm almost always way ahead of the curve - - prescient in analyzing the motives and actions of the political class. But - - I once thought that the concept of a "uniparty" was mostly nonsense.
I've always known that the Pubbies - - the GOPe - - were gutless cowards - -who allowed the leftist demonrats to run the government - - regardless of what happened at the polls. But now I understand that it isn't just gutlessness - - it's an actual cabal - - a conspiracy among the leaders of both parties - - to perpetuate the Welfare State and the Deep State - - and a complete willingness to stab anyone in the back who oppose them.
Yes - - the Uniparty is real - - all too real - - and I'm ashamed to admit that I once thought that it wasn't.

Somebody on our side needs to dig deep into this creep's background and life. And if there is something bad there, announce it, hammer him with it and ruin the mother. Tear him to shreds. Just like the dems do.

He is no patriot and republicans need to see him for the scum he is. The only reason to leave when he is, is weaken the Republicans more. Remember Kari Lake? My take: How much did they offer him to sell out…

There's more to this story than is being talked about. In Wisconsin, The Governor (who is a Democrat and a sleaze ball) sets the date and time for a runoff primary and election. That means he can time the runoff, in a Republican district where the Democrat has little or no chance, to do the most harm to the Republican candidates for the coming regular election in November. Two elections, two primaries, twice as much infighting, depletion of funds that could be used for the main event in November, etc. The date for him to leave the job was picked in consultation with State party leadership. And the Republican majority in the House will be bolstered by other runoffs in at least four states where at least three races will go to the Republican. And no meaningful legislation will be passed as long as the Senate remains in Dem control. The long game here is to win both the House and Senate in November, not one temporary Wisconsin seat in Sept or Oct.

Mr. former Marine Mike Gallagher couldn't even serve out the last few months of his term. Another veteran politician who disappoints and another reason why I seriously consider NOT voting for someone who wears that Veteran title when they run for office.
I guess Big Money talks and Gallagher bailed.

I get what you are saying #8, but the fact that he is walking now, with no election to replace him, in what I understand to be, a strong Republican district still screams sell out to me…I am concerned with what will pass now with his leaving. Republicans are spineless even with the majority, what we have to wait for in those other elections are true Constitutionalists, people who believe in the United States…

His constituents need to find some way to remove him immediately so they can replace him. No district should be done this way.

It reeks of "controlled opposition" to me, these caterwaulings of Republicans and Gallagher being "weaklings" and "cowards". The truth is far worse.
Gallagher and his ilk (of which the majority manifests in Congress) are neither weak nor cowardly. They are sell-outs and traitors, pure and simple.

Yep, it's a heckuva thing poster # 5 to realize around half of the party we've all supported for decades are traitorous sellouts, or just plain 'ol louts. One has to dig deep before EVERY PRIMARY, since the general election is too late and one is left with a choice between a demonrat, demonrat light, or stealth plant.
This district in Wisconsin is heavily Republican, but here we are with Mr. "I served our Country". Can people in this district get him out before he quits too late? Probably not. I guess the only other thing to wonder is whether he was a demonrat plant from the get go, or just a recent traitorous sellout?

Couldn't understand why Gallagher would do this.
Turns out he wouldn't vote to impeach Mayorkas.
Someone who RICHLY deserved impeachment.
I guess Gallagher took a lot of Republican heat over this.
So he took the chickensh** way out....and quit.
I used to like the guy.
What a disappointment.
