Oral arguments were heard today in the appeal of the government against the states of Louisiana, Missouri and seven plaintiffs who claim that Biden officials, including Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, violated the First Amendment by pressuring social media platforms to suppress or delete content about COVID-19 that federal officials found objectionable. The Biden administration had an extensive communication pipeline into Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube and various subsidiary tech companies where instructions, the government says “encouragement”, were/was given about the removal of content critical of the government position, and the removal of content providers – American citizens. This does not sound good at all. Prediction: If it goes bad in the end, it will be John Roberts stabbing us in the back again.

SCOTUS seems to be leaning too much on the second amendment. After all, if government wants to lie to us for their own convenience, they aren't very convenient to the governed.

...the inability of the plaintiffs to outline direct actionable harm to them as an outcome of the regulation of their speech by the tech platforms. We've been up this road before, with the ballot fraud cases. "No standing" was the always the blanket reponse. Leave it to this Court to weasel out of correctly adjudicating such a blatant violation of our most precious of all Constitutional rights.

A correspondent who knows precisely the type of things that I habitually complain about (and without such complaint I would have nothing to say) kindly drew my attention to the proposed Obama Center in Chicago. The Center is completely mad, the madness in question being an attack of megalomania that makes the Pyramid of Cheops seem like a statement of modesty by the pharaoh. The vast proposed building is in Jackson Park, and it was the subject of legal actions because a group called Protect Our Parks believed that it was contrary to the covenant governing the park’s usage: but, perhaps not surprisingly, the friends of Obama won the actions.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) this week announced she filed a complaint to ask for the disbarment of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis over her relationship with a former special counsel involved in the Trump case. On social media, Ms. Greene wrote that she is filing the complaint and alleged Ms. Willis engaged in “corrupt actions.” The district attorney, she wrote, “should’ve been removed from her political persecution of President Trump after it was revealed she went on lavish vacations with her lover Nathan Wade,” adding that Mr. Wade was “paid hundreds of thousands of dollars.”

No.” Within 21 days, the FDA will remove another page titled, “why you should not use ivermectin to treat or prevent COVID-19,” according to the settlement announcement, which was filed with federal court in southern Texas.

This is a good opportunity to emphasize a key point that is often missed. In the research and discussion outline yesterday, about Joe Biden’s EPA publishing new regulations for the auto industry, we dove deep into the background of what actually creates the issue. {GO DEEP} The issue that should concern everyone is not the Joe Biden administration and their ideology around climate change, or the EPA, or even the viability of EVs themselves. The issue that should draw the biggest concern is how the regulation originates; what is the impetus; who are the beneficiaries? The regulation itself did not originate in the EPA,

The Department of Justice (DOJ) and 16 states on Thursday filed a civil lawsuit against Apple Inc. and accused the company of illegally monopolizing the smartphone market. The DOJ and 16 state attorneys general claimed Apple attempted to limit competition, which harms consumers, small businesses, and app developers via the firm’s App Store and other Apple features. Apple has long placed significant restrictions on what can be downloaded through its App Store, saying that those rules are designed to bolster Apple device users’ privacy and security. But the broad suit accuses Apple of a range of illegal behavior, saying that it controls automotive services and news services, digital wallets, and puts restrictions
Democrats Canceled Their Florida Primary

Florida Democrats chose to award President Joe Biden the state’s delegates in November instead of holding a presidential primary vote, presumably to protect the unpopular incumbent. But it appears the move backfired and led to a wipeout of Democrats in local races. Florida Democrat Party leaders awarded Biden the state’s 224 delegates months ago and cancelled the primary, in a move Biden’s Democrat challengers called “intentional disenfranchisement” and said was “done obviously in secret, obviously to help the incumbent Joe Biden.” The lack of a statewide Democrat primary meant registered Democrats had less reason to turn out on Tuesday than Republicans, who decisively voted for former President Donald Trump

It’s another day that ends in “-y,” which means House Speaker Mike Johnson is preparing to surrender on yet another federal spending fight that allows President Biden’s border invasion to continue unabated. On Tuesday, congressional leaders announced they struck a deal on a roughly $1 trillion package to fund the remainder of the federal government for the rest of the 2024 fiscal year. It includes funding for agencies such as the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security. The first package — which contained zero conservative priorities and increased spending — was passed by Congress and signed into law by Biden earlier this month.

They may make mistakes with people, and that may result in people dying.”

The FBI must face a lawsuit filed by a Muslim man who has since been removed from the bureau’s “no-fly list,” the U.S. Supreme Court ruled on March 19. “The government has failed to demonstrate that this case is moot,” Justice Neil Gorsuch wrote in a unanimous ruling. “While the government’s representation that it will not relist Mr. Fikre may mean that his past conduct is not enough to warrant relisting, that does not speak to whether the government might relist him if he engages in the same or similar conduct in the future,” he added later.

Gallagher’s departure before the end of his term in January is another blow to Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and House Republicans, who have been struggling to govern and demonstrate stability in this Congress. Two sources familiar with the matter told NBC News of Gallagher's plan to resign early Friday. The Wisconsin Republican then released a statement announcing that he will depart April 19.

Donald Trump was right. It's going to be a bloodbath when China's BYD starts selling its "fun-to-drive" Seagull EV in this country at a price not even Tesla can match. The five-door hatchback doesn't have the best range or fanciest amenities. But what it does have is a top price under $14,000, good safety features, aggressive looks, and plenty of financial backing from Beijing. BYD's specialties are batteries and high-tech manufacturing, and they're using both to aggressively expand overseas production and deliveries. An improved version for South American markets, called the Dolphin Mini, is already on sale, starting at $21,990.

San Diego County is one of the largest segments of California's homeless population, with more than 10,000. Locals in Pacific Beach say that the vagrants have moved from the city's downtown to their neighborhood and are openly defying laws banning them from camping out in their vehicles. The homeless are accused of not just camping out but bringing in drugs and leaving their garbage on the streets, ironically right next to signs that tell them they're not allowed to park there. Debbie Turnbull, who lives in the area, claims that it's a problem of the city trying to take the homeless out of the downtown area.
