President Biden will announce during his State of the Union address Thursday that he’s directing the U.S. military to lead the construction of a port along the coast of Gaza on the Mediterranean Sea to boost the amount of aid getting to Palestinian civilians. [Snip] Senior administration officials said the project will not require any U.S. boots on the ground in Gaza. Instead, the plan involves U.S. personnel on military vessels offshore who will not be required to go ashore to install the port. [Snip] A senior administration official said the U.S. worked “very closely with the Israelis in developing this initiative.”

Former President Trump demanded he receive a new trial after a jury ordered him to pay $83.3 million in advice columnist E. Jean Carroll’s defamation lawsuit. [Snip] “Just before President Trump took the stand at trial, the Court engaged in a colloquy with defense counsel designed to restrict the scope of President Trump’s testimony,” [Snip] That exchange, they argue, narrowed the scope of Trump’s testimony to the point of prejudice by preventing him from addressing his mental state in relation to Carroll. On the witness stand, Trump only answered two questions--one of which was objected to, they wrote.

Kate Middleton has surfaced for the first time since her hospitalization earlier this year that sidelined her for a good while--and she's maintaining a low profile--or trying to anyway. The Princess of Wales was seen riding passenger Monday in a vehicle that was being driven by her mother, Carole, near Windsor Castle in the UK ... and like we said, this sighting is a big deal considering we haven't seen her whatsoever since December. Kate was wearing shades, and appeared to be rocking somewhat of a smile here--there didn't appear to be any other relatives with them for this outing

The sale of the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve is among the provisions intended to raise funds in one of six bills setting out appropriations for some federal departments this year after Congress narrowly avoided another shutdown last week. [Snip] "Upon the complete of such sale, the Secretary [of Energy] shall carry out the closure of the Northeast Gasoline Supply Reserve," the bill states, and "may not establish any new regional petroleum product reserve unless funding of the proposed regional petroleum product reserve is explicitly requested in advance in an annual budget."

President Trump holds a remarkable disposition for providing grace, forgiveness and acceptance. I do not possess such an admirable skillset. [Snip] In the past two years the CfG has spent millions viciously undermining MAGA and President Trump. Their disdain for the middle class is palpable, and they hate the America First Main Street agenda. [Snip] I have been working on an operational system that is intended to directly target anyone in the “Republican” or “conservative” political sphere that tries to stop, impede or block the America First agenda, or target Donald Trump after the successful 2024 election.

WASHINGTON - A federal judge held veteran investigative reporter Catherine Herridge in civil contempt on Thursday for refusing to divulge her source for a series of Fox News stories about a Chinese American scientist who was investigated by the FBI but never charged. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper in Washington imposed a fine of $800 per day until Herridge reveals her source, but the fine will not go into effect immediately to give her time to appeal. [Snip] But the judge said the court “also has its own role to play in upholding the law and safeguarding judicial authority.”

The Biden administration is already facing accusations of trying to buy the votes of college student aged voters by ‘cancelling’ billions in student loan debt. Now they have announced that they will pay college students to register voters, and they’re doing this with tax dollars. The corruption is right out in the open, for all to see. [Snip] David Strom comments at Hot Air: “Voter assistance” can include getting into the voting booth with people who need help, including translating ballots. Don’t worry, though. The Department of Education assures us that the college students won’t do anything partisan. We can trust them.

We have been covering the growing racialization of medical schools for several years. Our CriticalRace.org database of medical schools has received widespread media attention, including this Fox Digital article in July 2023, after we completed documentation at all 156 U.S. based medical schools: [Snip] “The ideological capture of over two-thirds of medical schools demonstrates that CRT/DEI has become a part of the fabric of medical education. We are training future doctors to look at patients through a racial lens, with potentially frightening consequences for society,” Jacobson said.

We recently highlighted the story of the journalist Catherine Herridge, who was fired by CBS News, after which the network seized her confidential files. Herridge had been working on stories that might be negative for Joe Biden and the administration, so people were naturally suspicious and outraged. Now, after public scrutiny and pressure from members of Congress, the network has returned the files. [Snip] SAG-AFTRA is pleased to confirm that earlier today a representative of our union monitored the return of several boxes containing Catherine Herridge’s reporting materials from her CBS News office in Washington D.C. Herridge is currently reviewing the materials.

One of the things that’s been vexing for many conservatives is how passive the Republican National Committee has been when it comes to the lawfare being waged against Donald Trump. Don’t they understand that Trump is the trial balloon and that, if the lawfare against him is successful, it’ll be used against all Republicans? (Snip) [B]lue-state politicians may have the satisfaction of “sticking it” to Messrs. Trump and Musk, but the loss to those states will be significant. The damage to the legal fabric of the country will be even worse. A dispassionate justice system is at the heart of American exceptionalism,

About 18 months ago, my colleague Fuzzy Slippers fisked The New York Times opinion piece for asserting there was a “time and place” for cannibalism. What new horrors do they have in store for us? Well, cannibalism, of course. What better way to feed the masses than to feed them the masses, presumably the “good” unwashed get to consume the “bad” ones.[Snip]Ethically, cannibalism poses fewer issues than you might imagine. If a body can be bequeathed with consent to medical science, why can’t it be left to feed the hungry? Our aversion has been explained in various ways.

In a scathing rebuke of a New York Judge’s decision to fine Donald Trump a staggering $355 million, the entrepreneur and media personality Kevin O’Leary minced no words, denouncing the ruling as “unjust,” “appalling” and ultimately “un-American.”[Snip]“That fact that he was found guilty, you might as well find guilty every real estate developer on Earth,” O’Leary said in an exclusive interview with The Post.[Snip]“I don’t understand where someone got hurt…What developer doesn’t ask for the highest price valued for any building they built?” O’Leary said.[Snip]He later added, “If this judgment sticks. Every developer must be jailed. They must be found guilty. They must be put out of business.
Comments:
According to the article, President Trump was asked if he ever instructed anyone to “hurt’ Ms. Carroll in his statements. President Trump said he did not and that he “just wanted to defend myself, my family, and frankly, the presidency.” Accuser Carroll’s attorney objected, the judge sustained and the jury ordered to “disregard” President Trump’s remarks beyond “no.” / “If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.” (George Washington)
