New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) and Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) are fighting back against crime in the New York City subway system by reinstating bag checks.
Hochul announced Wednesday she is deploying 1,000 additional law enforcement officers to the subway, including 750 New York National Guard members and 250 members of law enforcement. Adams ordered an additional 1,000 law enforcement officials to patrol the subway in February after the city saw a 45% increase in crime in January compared to January of last year.
“We know people feel unsafe,” Adams said. “We are reinstituting bag checks. There are several things we are reinstituting in the system.”

Is this her permanent solution? Or is there some magic plan in the works to stop NYC from becoming a crime infested filthy hellhole?

will the 750 State Guard troops be armed?
Armed with WHAT?
(NY has driven the weapons manufacturers that provide them clear OUT of the state, and banned their same weapons from sale in the City)
Wearing camo, khaki, or dress uniforms?
Flack vests? Helmets?

What an idiot. Defund the police....then take the Nat Guard as police? I guess this is her way of getting people to leave the Guard.

Let's watch the NG terrorize old ladies in the subway, while letting perps skirt by. Or better yet, why not let the cops do their jobs? Democrats will destroy this country in their effort to rule it.

Too little, too late. It's going to be well nigh impossible to get the ferals back in their cages now. Crime and punishment...when you eliminate the punishment part, you get a complete breakdown of law and order. Now NYC is starting into what aircraft pilots call the "graveyard spiral" when a spin becomes unrecoverable. The big city Dems own this and even the low info voters are waking up. It's become a horrible scandal and an affront to decent people still hanging on in once great cities. It may be easy to say "stay and fight" but nobody wants to end up dead on the subway tracks or a downtown street. Rational people who have the means to leave are doing so and taking their tax base with them.

The thing is, what they intend to prevent is a Bernhard Goetz / Paul Kersey situation with this.
If they REALLY wanted to stop the crime, they would get rid of their SOROS owned Attorney General and District attorneys, Replace them with real anti-thug prosecutors, and start arresting and prosecuting and punishing harshly, illegal aliens and homegrown thugs.

National Guard? Too many terrorist threats? They're not saying that. Maybe they don't want to say that. That would mean NYC is worse than anyone ever thought.

Why are military troops doing this? Anyway, if they catch someone with an canon in the Subway they will let him walk so why expend the effort. Fix the Courts and throw these criminals in jail and make them clean the streets everyday as part of their rehab. Once the word gets out that criminals will be punished perhaps the city will be more livable.

This is the beginning to get Americans used to troops being a presence in our train stations, airports and other areas where large numbers of people gather. The first step on the road to a Police State.

All this means is that the criminals will commit their crimes above ground now. Why does that occur to a country bumpkin like me, but not to a sophisticated, all-knowing Noo Yawk governor?

The drug-addled, homeless thugs who have been pushing little old Asian citizens off the platforms and onto the tracks, or down the endless stairs, are not using guns or knives. This action targets only the muggers who don't attack in gang groups. Do these NGs have arrest authority? Or do they simply seize weapons being hidden in baggy pants or purses?

Kathy might want to remember all the dictators from the past and how they met their end...the people can only take so much before they act...so like all the other dictators of history...she might think before she acts.....the White House cabal might want to rethink their defunding of the police...and Kathy wouldn't have to send in the guard....it's an election stunt.....

This has been planned all along. I expect things to get worse. The U.N. will become involved and invited in to police us. Remember the rumors of giving our sovereignty to WHO? I think this is the month it happens. W.H.O. will decide who is breaking law.
It will have to do with social issues, Covid shots and climate change. We will all be in reeducation camps or dead by end of year.

No guns for the guards? Wait for a train entering the station at high speed and just push the miscreants off the platform in front of a train. Squash, splat one dead or crippled criminal thug. Kill em all,....Allah cn sort them out.
