The University of Florida has eliminated all positions affiliated with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
The move, laid bare in a leaked administrative memo, serves as the latest in the state's mission to nix DEI initiatives from public institutions.
University Director of Public Affairs Cynthia Roldan confirmed the cut consisted of 13 full-time positions, as well 15 administrative appointments - 28 in total. It also marks an end to the school's office devoted to diversity, opened just six years ago. The next year, Republican Ron DeSantis would become governor, and has since passed a litany of laws

This means every individual in that DEI office had no marketable skills of use to the university outside of that office (of gatekeepers.)

Wow. Glad I don't live in Florida, where the governor has dictatorial power to pass laws by fiat that keep people in chains.

Interviewer: "I see on your resume that you were a DEI employee."
ex-DEI: "Yes, at the University of Florida."
Interviewer: "Yes, but do you have any real job skills?"

May this trend continue. Whoever said diversity is our strength should be horsewhipped. It just intensifies our differences. I like there are differences in our backgrounds but what makes that work is when we can come together for the good of the country and still hold on to our heritages. However, our differences should not be put on some kind of preferential scale where some groups are better than others. With the ideas of freedom and equal opportunity for all bringing us together under love of country we had a true melting pot which worked well for centuries until the radical leftists decided to push their agenda. We need to get back to what made us strong, out of many, one and reject diversity because we are ultimately one race, the human race.

Outright firing is the only appropriate way to deal with DEI workers. They are toxic and have no usable skills beyond creating tension and playing victim. For the most part they are arrogant, confrontational, and unlikeable.

I work with a guy who is scared to death that my state (Kentucky) will ban DEI. I wish it would. I'm tired of the whole thing.

THIS is the way a competent, quietly strong leader turns things around. By doing, not by bluster. Why isn't every red state doing this right now?

I look for the media to frame this as: DeSantis brutally fires 28 Black, female, and minority staff in his continues crusade to discriminate and bring back Jim Crow Era to Florida. College students are fearful on campuses for their continued safety and ability to continue attending college. They are currently sheltering in place and counselors are available to those who are hurt by this overt display of systematic racism.

They hired 28 black people for the purpose of hiring another bunch of black people at a university. This makes about as much business sense as hiring a bunch of bird watchers to paint your house.

Florida continues to be a leader, along with Texas, in pushing back against the mediocracy induced by 'wokism' and 'equity', and the result is there for all to see: booming economies and greater freedom for all. Other states are doing the same, but follow-up will be needed to ensure that those who try to find loop-holes and other nefarious ways to avoid actual compliance with the law will not be successful. The DEI proponents may be low IQ, but they are dedicated.

Clearly these paid positions are only viable when we the taxpayers fund them.

DEI is meant to reinstate affirmative action under a new name. Liberals feel entitled to ignore SC rulings that they disagree with.

This is a small but very good start. Good for Florida U. This is needs to spread to the federal government level and not just at the college level. Like what Argentina's Melei is doing.

Too bad that they permit them to seek other jobs with the university. They should be GONE, permanently.
