Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is stepping down as party leader at the end of this year, which means the bid to replace America’s least popular politician is off to the races.(snip)“One of life’s most underappreciated talents is to know when it’s time to move on to life’s next chapter,” McConnell said, after having spent nearly 40 years in Congress getting rich from American taxpayers.

Comments:

Those who should hot follow him in this role include Cornyn, Thune, Lankford who supported this baf bill.

Sending weapons to Ukraine is something to be proud of, to help them defend themselves from the evil Russian invaders.

FTA: "McConnell said, after having spent nearly 40 years in Congress getting rich from American taxpayers." I would have much preferred that McConnell got rich from American Taxpayers. The $25,000.000 he received from the CCP for marrying Elaine Chen is what bothers me! His Honey-trap wife sees to it that he screws America at every turn!

Respectfully #1, where is the accountability? Ukraine has been a corrupt cesspool for the political class for decades. We all want to support anyone who is willing to fight for their country against foreign invaders but this stinks to high heaven. I cannot support the continued effort to provide arms and massive sums of money without any oversight.

Re #6, yes, you are absolutely correct, most of the money "spent" in Ukraine stays right here....and PAYS THE SALARIES of working American engineers and keeps our weapons updated and the stockpile refreshed as old, aging versions of weapons are shipped to Ukraine, and replaced in our stockpiles with shiny new weapons, often with updated and improved functionality. Like "selling" your 20 year old car at full market value, then getting a shiny new car....heck of a deal, and keeps the car workers employed, too.

An appeals court in Washington unanimously ruled that a Jan. 6 defendant’s sentence was improperly enhanced, a move that could impact numerous other Jan. 6 cases. On Friday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit ruled that Larry Brock, who was convicted for a range of crimes related to Jann. 6, improperly had additional charges of “interference with the administration of justice.” The judge who wrote the court’s opinion wrote that the charge doesn’t apply to a sentencing enhancement, however, and struck it down. “Brock challenges both the district court’s interpretation of Section 1512(c)(2)’s elements and the sufficiency of the evidence to support that conviction,” wrote the judge, Patricia Millett.

No state in modern times has transitioned from a worker freedom state to one that forces workers to join a union and pay dues to labor bosses. All the momentum across the country in the last two decades has been in the opposite direction: allowing workers the right to choose a union — or not. That’s why what happened last week in Lansing, Michigan, is such a tragic setback for workers’ rights and for the economic competitiveness of the state(snip) Thanks to a corrupt deal between the labor bosses, the Democratic state legislature and Gov. Trump-era Department of Justice official Jeffrey Clark won a big victory against Democrat lawfare on Monday when the D.C. Court of Appeals ruled he did not have to comply with a subpoena issued by the D.C. Bar’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel. The appeals court denied the D.C. Bar’s attempt to enforce its subpoena against Clark because it “infringes on Mr. Clark’s Fifth Amendment right not to be compelled to be a witness against himself.” (snip) The victory for Clark serves as a shocking blow to Democrats, who have tried to disbar more than 100 attorneys who agreed to work on election integrity cases following the 2020 presidential election.

Nobody can blame Nikki Haley for continuing her not-a-chance-in-heaven campaign for president — she has nothing to lose and lots of money to gain — but it’s helpful to remember that if not for the media’s white-hot hatred for Donald Trump, they would have absolutely razed her life and family months ago. Literally, the only reason she’s even still able to show her face in public is because the media know her candidacy is of zero consequence.

President Joe Biden’s White House has begun referring to border crossers and illegal aliens as “newcomers and “people who are in the country” — a terminology distinction that conflicts with federal immigration law. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a rare midweek press conference on Thursday to emphasize that Israel would continue to fight in Gaza, and defend its interests in spite of international pressure to end the war.
